Description

From the creators of PepToc, the virally popular telephone hotline featuring pre-recorded life advice from kids, comes a heartwarming collection of 50 handmade motivational posters created by youth from around the world.

This warm hug of a book harnesses the love and inspiration we all need to navigate our increasingly complex and difficult world. Following the immense success of their hotline, Peptoc creators Jessica Martin and Asherah Weiss invited youth from around the globe to make posters with messages of encouragement, hang them up in their communities, and submit photos of their work to share. The result is this collection of disarmingly earnest, often hilarious advice that only children could give.

Whether it’s the California kindergartener who advises his neighbors to “be grateful for yourself” or the 8-year-old from Alaska who suggests, “If you’re frustrated, go get your wallet and buy ice cream and shoes”––one of these wise youngsters will prompt even the jaded reader to pause, reflect, and see things in a new light.

A tangible reminder of our human capacity for hope amidst hardship, this colorful collection makes a thoughtful, uplifting gift for anyone who could use a pep talk.

Thank you for the EArc NetGalley and Andrews McMeel. Who doesn’t need a pick me up now and then and where better to get advice then from the innocent? This book is such a beautiful reminder of why we should listen to our youth. They have such a pure, no nonsense take on life and it is so refreshing. If ever you are having a bad day and just need a gentle reminder of how wonderful you are or that things will be ok this book and it’s call in number are for you. Pick it up, read it, keep it by your side and share the knowledge within.

This is such a cute collection! I had heard of the phone hotline but didn't know about the poster movement. Can't wait to purchase this for our library!

An inspiring and uplifting project that has so many possibilities for folks who work with kids, youth, teens, group projects and community projects.

This book is a great reminder that goodness exists in the world, whether you need the reminder for yourself or want to create that reminder for others.

This is an excellent coffee table book for when you need a pep talk. My favorite poster is the pink one encouraging you to take a break.

I received a copy of this in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

You seriously need to read this book.
If you're anything like me, full of constant stress and worries - get this book. Who knew that some super sweet and funny messages from little humans would take some weight off my shoulders and make me smile?!

I plan on grabbing a physical copy of this book when it comes out. So worth it.

Would I read other books by this author? Absolutely.

This book was delightful and radiated joy on every page. At its core, it encourages readers to spread kindness, love, and acceptance. The book showcases art work from a 2020 project, “Peptoc,” where elementary and even some older students created art and signs to spread encouragement and joy in their communities. This book also includes resources for how to organize your own Peptoc campaign. This book is great for educators, students, and anyone who might benefit from a “Peptoc.”

Thanks to #NetGalley and #AndrewsMcMeel for the opportunity to review an advanced reader copy.

Absolutely adorable, divinely inspiring!

We've all had one of those days. A day where we need a comforting pick me up, a warm hug and friendly smile.

This book is the new project of the creators of Peptoc, the now-viral hotline that provides inspirational pre-recorded messages from children.

This new project features 50 motivational posters, hung around the world, all illustrated and handwritten by children in their native tongue.

Beautiful.

When you open this book you step in a collection of uplifting and encouraging messages of children around the world.

What words can you say to someone who is feeling down, sad or angry? The makers of this book proposed this question to their students. Out of that question the Peptoc movement was born.

You are amazing like a rocket! Is a collection of posters made by children around the world. Each spread has a photo of a poster beaming through a hopeful message.

The messages in this book are honest, vulnerable and heartwarming. This book is an excellent one to browse through again and again on tough days. It’s like a tiny museum of hope.

There’s some information about the movement and you’re invited to join the Peptoc movement yourself (and with your local community).

A gem of friendly activism.

Thanks a lot to the makers of this book and to NetGalley for providing an e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I found this really inspiring because kids from around the world opened their hearts to send positive messages out into the world. There were different levels of skill and different designs because the kids were every age, which made it even sweeter. I don't know how you someone could read this without smiling.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
