This is a slow burn of a book, and a page turner! This is the first book I’ve read by this author. The writing is so good, so taut. Highly recommended!

Wow
Let me begin this review by mentioning that I typically lean towards fantasy or romance novels rather than thrillers.
However, I must say that this book completely blew me away!
From start to finish, I found myself engrossed in the story, constantly theorizing about what would happen next. Yet, the ending took me completely by surprise! 0N
The numerous unexpected twists in this book had me hooked. I was captivated by the suspense, and it was nearly impossible for me to set the book down!

It’s been three weeks since I read this book and I still can’t stop thinking about it.
I did receive a arc from NetGalley but this is a true review.

Well, I didn't like how this book started. Not at all.
I apologise to the publisher, but I DNFed it around 11%.
I didn't hate...but also didn't enjoy this author's writing, but what made me quit this book was the chapter in which the protagonist is having her first (mandatory) therapy session.
I've been to therapy for quite some time, and I also have a couple friends who are therapists, and the way the protagonist, who IS ALSO a therapist herself, behaves and talks with her therapist? Ludicrous! The language this author uses while writing these two therapists' conversation? Totally unrealistic.
To me it's clear this author did no research on how therapists really talk, behave and what kind of language they use. That got me so annoyed that I had to quit.

This is my first book by Vi Keeland, and I quite enjoyed the suspense of this thrilling story, which had me glued from the first page. It's a fast-paced read that revolves around New York psychiatrist Meredith, who becomes dangerously obsessed with a man named Gabriel. Their tragic connection leads to a dark and suspenseful journey as Meredith's life unravels.

It was quite a gripping and complex story with lots of twists and turns! The way the chapters switched between the past and present really added depth to the story, definitely making it an intense and suspenseful read. There's a web of deception and hidden motives among the characters. Exploring the interconnected relationships and motivations in the book can really keep you on the edge of your seat! And don't even get me started on that ending - total shocker! 😳

It's a gripping story of obsession, loss, and unexpected twists! A must-read for thriller lovers! An absolute page-turner! 📚🔍

Thank you, NetGalley, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of The Unraveling. Who's stalking who? Meredith McCall is a physiatrist dealing with guilt after a terrible that cost the lives of a mother and daughter. So many twist and turns and in the middle of the book I was spinning. But the end, holy cow, the ultimate twist!

Listen, it’s not that easy going from romance books to thriller and when i tell you I’m blown away by how good it was???? Miss Keeland exceeded my expectations
Zero expectations but very happy with how it turned out.
The thriller anxiety i got reading this……….man that’s how you know a thriller is good.
I think it’s best to go in blind( i literally forgot the description in a minute and im so glad i did) and it’s also a very easy read you don’t have to worry about time or if it’s too hard to get into.

Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the arc 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Dark and twisted! Meredith McCall has suffered a great loss and has found some unorthodox ways of dealing with her grief. As a successful psychiatrist, she finds solace in helping others with their problems. But one particular new patient becomes inappropriately fascinating to her. As one bad decision leads to another, Meredith finds that she is way over her head.

I really enjoyed this book, the first half had me spellbound. I found the second half of the story to be a bit problematic: the spice level seemed over the top and unnecessary to the plot line, there were some details left unresolved or unexplained that really bothered me, and the ending felt rushed, disorganized and slightly confusing. All in all I think this is a good book and will make a great beach read! I would definitely read another thriller by this author.

Thank you Netgalley, Atria Books, and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. This book will be available for purchase on July 9, 2024

I’ve read and loved many romance books by this author, so when I received the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of The Unraveling, I was happy to accept! I don’t read much suspense but I’m glad I gave it a try. The plot was unexpected but so good, and although the beginning went just a tad slow for me, once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t see the twists and turns coming, and was surprised right up to the very end!

Wow! This is an amazing wild story. Meredith and Connor were the happiest couple around. After a fatal accident, Meredith is adrift in her grief over losing Connor and their future. She also has immense guilt over a mother and child who were killed in the accident. Lots of crazy things transpire but I don’t want to spoil it for readers! Just read this book and enjoy all the craziness!!!

I really enjoyed this book! I went in to this not knowing much about the author or the story and ended up tearing through until the end. A New York City psychiatrist, Dr. Meredith McCall, suffers a traumatic loss and feels adrift in life. When she bumps into a man she has a tragic connection with, Gabriel Wright, it sparks an unhealthy obsession that leads her down a dark path.

This isn’t a love story.

It’s a story about obsession.

4.5 stars! WOW! Thank you for an addictive debut thriller! This book got me from the very beginning and kept my attention until the last page! I loved it!

Psychiatrist, Meredith McCall, suffered an unthinkable tragedy which unfortunately resulted in her medical license being revoked for a year. Not only was her personal life shattered, her career was as well.

A year later, she is able to start seeing patients again and building her practice back up. What she doesn’t expect is for the person connected to her loss, grief and guilt, to come walking through her door. Gabriel Wright, the man whose life she and her husband destroyed, is asking for her help with his mental health.

Meredith struggles with her moral and ethical boundaries when she realizes Gabriel doesn’t seem to know who she is. How can she treat the man whose pain she has played a part in? When their connection becomes more intense, she puts her medical license at risk again and throws all the rules out the window. She becomes fixated on Gabriel and instead of piecing her life back together, she continues to let it unravel further.

PLEASE give us more of this Vi Keeland!! I highly recommend this debut thriller- you will be hooked from page 1!

I loved it was a book that I didn't want to put down. I was surprised at how fast paced this was and how I thought I had figured it out and in the end I was wrong. I would highly recommend this book.

GOOD GRAVY!! This was such a wild ride, I loved it so much. It was unhinged and messed up in the best way. This was a tale of obsession with twists and turns throughout that never let up. While you have to suspend some disbelief towards the end, this was still a hell of a thriller that I’ll think about for a while! All of the characters are terrible people, and I am sure that was the author’s intention. Short chapters! And two different timelines!! What’s not to love about that? And some good spice too?! This was such a winner!

We follow a female main character whose life is turned upside down when she becomes a little too infatuated with the guy whose wife and daughter were unalived due to a drunk driver. Why is she obsessed this man? That’s the question you’ll be asking yourself till the first twist hits. And then you’ll wonder what in the hell you just read!

Keeland has written such a bingeable psychological suspense novel here, a bit of a romantic thriller similar to something like A.R. Torre. it’s not the most unique story and there aren’t a ton of ‘twists’ but i couldn’t put this down for some reason! Meredith was such an interestingly flawed narrator to follow and i had to know what was going on.

Ummmm holy moly!!! This book was addictive and unputdownable (yeah... that's a word). I stayed up way too late reading this book. This is my second novel by Vi Keeland and I will definitely be reading more of her work. The characters had a lot of depth and the suspense made it hard to stop thinking about this story. I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks!

I am a big fan of Vi Keeland's romance novels, devouring them in one or two sittings and making my way through her backlist at a decent pace! When I saw she was publishing a thriller, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It was a little slow in the beginning, with a lot of mystery about what happened and who "you" was, but thankfully things were revealed early on and the slow burn began. There were so many times I thought "NO MEREDITH" or "what are you thinking/doing?!". The way the story twisted close to the end and again at the very end had my mouth hanging open in all the best ways for a thriller. I did not see those coming and they made the slower beginning worth it. As a debut thriller, Keeland did a great job, and I would absolutely pick up another book in this genre by her. Fans of physiological thrillers, should absolutely add The Unraveling, to their TBR. Well done Vi Keeland, well done!
