I was already somewhat familiar with a few of Poe's works during English class in Highschool but this was such a beautiful reading experience. I'm just beginning to really enjoy Manga as a genre by itself but it sticks to the orginal work flawlessly. I really liked this and will probably buy a physical edition it was stunning.

I'm giving Manga Classics: The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe a 3 star rating. It's nice to see his short stories come to life in the drawings. The story I enjoy the most out of the manga is the Tall Tale Heart. It's one of those stories that will always remember for it's creepiness.

God I love Manga Classics!! Especially when I get to see some of my favorite classics in a manga art style and format <3

The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe includes The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, and The Fall of the House of Usher.

If you love Edgar Allan Poe's works to begin with, you should definitely try this one out if you like manga/anime! It stays true to the gothic format even in the artstyle!! It's been a while since I've read these stories but Poe is one of my favorite authors and I often read his over again every few years so this was a great arc to recieve!!

However, if you're new to Poe and his works; he's known for his gothic and macabre writing style with elements of gruesome horror, phantasma, and psychological horror.

Either way I highly recommend this if you're into gothic, macabre stories in manga format!

I always wanted to get into Edgar Allan Poe's stories. But he is such a long-winded writer. Even as comics, these were drawn-out. I enjoyed how The Tell-Tale Heart was adapted. If you enjoy Poe's work, you would probably like this.

The Tell-Tale Heart: 5 stars. Well put together! The illustrations really capture the madness as time passes. This was interesting.

The Cask of Amontillado: 2 stars. The ending was quite disturbing! The pictures in this one weren't that detailed or great. If it had a little more information/backstory and was quicker, I might have liked it better.

The Raven: 3 stars. Loved the pictures. But the writing was not my favorite. It was a decent story.

The Masque of the Red Death: 1 star. This was dull and went around in circles before getting to the point. Not very capturing. The illustrations were okay.

The Fall of the House of Usher: 1 star. Not me constantly looking up SparkNotes to understand what was going on. This was so wordy and unentertaining. I'm sure back in the day this was a lot more captivating. It just wasn't for me.

Thank you NetGalley. Edgar Allan Poe's tales have been a staple of literature and this collection is a great way for readers to visualize the tales.

Manga versions of Edgar Allan Poe stories. I'm already a fan of this series. I think this is a great addition to a classroom or library, whether as assigned or supplementary reading or independent reading. A few of the images are a little on the scary side, but it should be okay for middle and up. I love a book that makes classics more accessible to a wider range of readers, and this falls smack into that category, so it's five stars for me. I also think it could be great as a read along with the originals.

Very neat Edgar Allan Poe graphic novel. It’s an awesome way to show the macabre king himself. I can’t wait to read more books by this author and illustrator.

“Manga Classics: The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe” is a collection (in a Manga adaptation) of some of his best-known stories: The Tell Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death and The Fall of the House of Usher.
Being able to see a classic work in a different way is intriguing and this edition is also a good opportunity for new readers, especially people who don’t like to read classics. The art is good but the best visual elements are the panelling and the composition which depict the grottesque atmosphere in a convincing way(still it could get even better).

As much as I am a huge fan of Edgar Allen Poe. I did not enjoy it as a manga. But I will state that Edgar Allen Poe was a master at what he did. My favorite from him was The Raven as it was the first thing I read from him when I was in school. But I still gave it 3 stars cause Edgar Allen Poe is still the best.

This is a manga collection of some of Edgar Allan Poe’s best short stories. They include: The Tell Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, The Raven, The Mask of the Red Death, and The Fall of the House of Usher.

These stories are some of my favourite short stories. They are all descriptive and have lots of imagery that translates well to illustrations. I loved revisiting these classic stories and seeing them illustrated for the first time.

The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe (Manga Classics) is a great manga adaptation of his classic horror stories.

Thank you Udon Entertainment for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute version of the original, something easy to read when you don’t have time to sit down and read over the original. Definitely not as good as the original, but worth a read if you like to read anime/manga.

Since Manga is all the rage right now in Middle School, I thought I would give this version a shot. I LOVED it! It isn't as dark a color palette as the graphic novel, but it also doesn't have all the themes and guided notes as the graphic novel. The Tell-Tale Heart was super well illustrated. I liked the manga spin on all the characters and the plot.

If you're looking for a high interest, highly engaging Poe adaptation for your classroom - this is it!

All the spooky, horrific and spine chilling elements that we love about Poe are found within these pages!

Poe’s short stories but make them manga. What an original idea to make mangas out of classics! I started with Poe because that is the one I got aproved on Netgalley, but I am dying to read Hamlet.

I honestly thoroughly enjoyed these 5 stories ('The Tell-Tale Heart', 'The Cask of Amontillado', 'The Raven', 'The Mask of the Red Death' and 'The Fall of the House of Usher'). The illustrators translated well the creepiness and eeriness of the short stories, and the sense of unsettling. 'The Raven' was my favourite because it’s written in verse and I find it pleasing to read.

This was an unusual combination of art styles, so to say, and it was fun to read and experience something like this. Well done

**Disclaimer: I received a free copy of The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe by Stacy King from Manga Classics through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This I guess, was just not for me. I assumed that I would love a manga adaption of EAP, but I just wasn't captivated. The only story that crept under my skin, was The Raven. It touched me somewhat, but the others just felt flat.

The artwork was beautiful, but I must admit, that I am more into colored graphic novels and a different drawing style. Black and white however match the stories of EAP.

Using the Goodreads rating system, this was ok for me, and therefore it gets 2 stars.

So this one is comprised by a few of the best well known stories from Edgar Allan Poe, that was pretty nice actually, some are easier to remember than others and some of this were actually my favorites from him.

as for the Illustration on this one, it was masterful and it was so awesome to see them like this, The Raven was awesome, I did loved to see it in this style.

One other favorite was The death of Red Mask, it was awesome to see all the scenes of the ball so vividly, love it.

It's a beautiful compilation of stories with intrigue, death and sorrow.
