You will never go wrong with a Lisa Regan book.
Always suspenseful and always worth the read.

I haven’t read this series in order but it really doesn’t matter. They can all read as stand alones.

If you need a great author who writes great stores you must read Lisa Regan.

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

A book that really keeps you guessing, more so than usual anyway!
Once again Lisa Regan has written another gripping and thrilling mystery. For Josie it’s a race against time and she has to work her socks off and put all her faith in believing her friend and colleague is innocent of the horrendous crimes she is confessing to. It’s a page-turner not to be missed.
I believe there is enough detail and past references to read this as a standalone, but I would strongly suggest reading from the start to get to know Josie and her team properly!
Thanks to Bookouture for allowing me to read this in exchange for a review.

This is the fourth book in the series, and wow. Really wow. Through netgalley I was introduced to Lisa Regan's books, and I haven't looked back since. In this one Josie has to deal with her "new" sister, a serial killer coming through the ages and a cop friend that needs her help, urgently. This was a very well written book, and I can't wait for number 5!

Lisa Regan. I discovered her on NetGalley a few years back when I was just getting into reading again. She was one of the first authors to really get me into the mystery/thriller genre. The Josie Quinn series is awesome, and this one didn't disappoint. I hope there are more where this came from!

Gripping and full of tension. Enjoyed the fact that the murders were not described in great detail ... the fact that the scenes are cut off before it gets to this point adds massively to the tension,. I have read one other in the series but not the full series so I don't completely know Josie's backstory. That doesn't really matter though as it works fine as a standalone. Looking forward to more in the future!

This is Detective Josie Quinn book four in the series. I have really thoroughly enjoyed reading each one, they are set in Denton a small American town.

This is the fourth book in a series in which I haven't read any of the prior books. I like Ms Regan's writing style and wished I had started this series from the start.

Starting with book #4 I have missed some of the history and relationships that are referenced, but essentially this plot worked well as a stand alone book. I enjoyed the plot and the characters although I didn't quite buy into some of the biker gang elements.

Since I enjoyed this one, I have now gone back and read the series from the start and intend to read the next in the series.

A Murder, a confession, a determined detective searching for the truth.

One of the things I enjoy most about this series is the focus on Josie’s relationships and the dynamics between them. In this story Josie is determined to solve the murder of a student and save her friend from a murder charge. Secrets come to light adding some suspense and tension to the story. Just when it seemed like things were coming together in the case another twist comes and Josie races against time to find the killer.

There is a little romance going on here and I was happy to see Josie find some happiness there. We also see more of her personal relationships here in this story. I am going to stay vague on that because you just need to read this series to find out more about that.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for my copy to read and review.

Josie Quinn is forced to investigate her colleague Gretchen when a man is shot and she disappears. What link is there to a spate of murders by a serial killer who seems to be killing again…?
It becomes clear that Gretchen’s past is key to solving all of the murders but when she hands herself in to the police she admits responsibility and refuses to explain further. Josie is determined to find out the truth and uncover the real killer so that she can free her friend and stop further murders.
This book makes several references to the previous 3 books in the series which I have not read. This didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book but did make me want to catch up on what I’d missed!
There is a personal side to the book as Josie and her partner Noel attempt to begin a relationship but are often thwarted by the case. There is also the developing relationship between Josie and her recently discovered twin.
The interspersed flashbacks to murders in the 90s increased my interest in the present day case as I tried to work out how they were linked. The murders were not graphically described and each one stopped at the point that the murderer revealed his presence. This left a feeling of foreboding and up to the imagination of the reader.
I really enjoyed this book and Josie is a great lead character. There were twists right up to the end and I look forward to reading the rest of the series…

I’ve said before how much I love this series and that remains true after finishing Her Final Confession. Once again Lisa Regan has written another gripping and thrilling mystery.

I love the character of Josie Quinn and especially enjoyed reading more about the developments in her personal life with her sister, her newfound family and also her relationship with Noah who I also really enjoy reading about (and picturing!) Josie is a likeable and believable character and her home life to me is just as enjoyable to read about as the main plot itself.

In terms of the plot it was again another really strong story from Lisa Regan. I love her ability to write these truly engrossing mysteries that really get me thinking and playing detective myself. When one of her own team is suspected of murder, Josie thinks differently and has to go up against her absolute wanker of a Chief to prove Gretchen’s innocence (or at least that she’s not the murderer). I usually finish these stories impressed at the reveals because they normally take me by surprise or they are just so brilliantly done and that was definitely the case here. In terms of similar parallels to Josie’s own life it may be stretching believability a tiny bit but, I read crime fiction for enjoyment and that it what I got here and so there’s no complaints. I highly recommend this series to those who are yet to read it.

OHMAHGAWD 😳

EPIC

Absolutely Mindblowingly dark, twisted, edge of your seat brilliance.

I tried, oh how I tried to read this slowly. I wanted to savor it. I wanted to not mourn being done...BUT I needed to figure it all out. I needed to know. 🤔

This author is so damn talented, the road she took us on...boom. What a story. The way she writes murder mysteries combined with characters that are smart...scary smart. They are also damaged, loyal and man can she write a twisted killer. Wrap it all up and you have a story that not only blows you away, you crave more.

Josie Quinn is one badass character, that has so many layers. We all know I love a damaged character, especially a female that is so fierce, so strong. I also loved delving into Gretchen’s past. Talk about damaged...and I also love that they chose to be cops and help people instead of wallowing in their dark pasts.

And Noah...he has no idea the layers of Josie and what he’s in for but he’s learning. And BTW...I can’t stand Chitwood.

This author is so talented. She’s a must read for anyone who likes Romantic Suspense that leaves you breathless.

This was such a fantastic story - well written, and completely gripping, with so many plot twists, the afternoon had gone and the book was finished before I realised it!

Thankyou to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author, Lisa Regan, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Her Final Confession in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I jumped at the chance to review this book when I saw the author's name. Having read her other literary offerings, I knew this one would be worth a read. I have to say, it's her best novel yet.
I thought this book was well written with engaging and realistic characters. It was fast paced with plenty of OMG! moments.
Her Final Confession is the very definition of thriller, and that's what you get here. Well worth a read.

A year ago this month I was introduced to Bookouture’s newest author, Lisa Regan. Her 1st book, Vanishing Girls  (review can be found on the blog) blew my mind and a year later book number 4 has just destroyed my reading mind!!

When I’m invited to read a book by Lisa I know what I’m letting myself into…. Her Final Confession was above and beyond what I was expecting.

When Gretchen was brought into the series I was hoping we would get a story that was more focused on her and her back story, she a bit of a closed character (which I liked) but I wasn’t expecting a body on her drive way and I was definitely not expecting the whirlwind story that was within these pages!!

Having read the whole series I knew I was in for some late nights (ok 2 nights as i couldn’t put it down) plenty of gasps and shock plot moves and a handful on no…..no…..NOOOOO! moments. I’ve  loved Joise from the start, she knows how to take her punches and deals with them like a pro. I was a tad worried how she would handle this plot, especially as it’s one of her team in the frame, but she didn’t let me down.

The pace of this story never let up, I was eager to find out what was in the next chapter and kept telling myself

‘one more chapter then put it down’

That never happened as the chapters always seemed to end on a high and I needed to know what was happening next.

This book left me in the same state as the first book, utter shock, absolutely hooked and wanting more. If you love your stories with a full plot, characters that you learn to love and bond with and a story that leaves you with you jaw on the ground, Lisa’s books are for you!

A body of a young man is found dead on the porch of one of Josie Quinn team. Josie is determined to find out what happened to the young man and I sure that Gretchen is an upstanding woman who isn't capable of murder. When Gretchen turns herself in Josie is determined to find the truth. She digs into Gretchen's past to find the answers that she's looking for. This book was a page turner I had a hard time putting down.

When Josie gets a call to investigate a homicide, she has no idea that the address she is given belongs to Gretchen Palmer, a much valued member of Josie's team.

A young man is lying in the driveway, shot in the back, with a picture of a young boy pinned to his chest .... but where is Gretchen?

Working all hours, Josie and Luke are very much surprised when Gretchen shows up at the police station demanding that they arrest her. She wants to confess to killing the young man in her driveway.

Josie refuses to believe that Gretchen murdered anyone ... but why is she confessing a crime she didn't commit?

It's going to take a hard look at Gretchen's past to find the connection between Gretchen, the unidentified boy in the picture, the young man killed by a bullet and then there are more bodies found.

Each book in this series is better than the last. This one is well written and reads easily as a stand alone. I highly recommend reading this entire series, starting at the beginning. The story premise is riveting, action packed, and full of twists and turns leading to a surprising ending.

Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the advanced copy of this crime thriller. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I have read, reviewed and loved the first three books in the series featuring Detective Josie Quinn and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of the fourth book in the series called ‘Her Final Confession’. Well the wait is over ladies and gents because ‘Her Final Confession’ was released on 15th November 2018. Oh my goodness gracious me, I thought that the other books in the series were good but ‘Her Final Confession’ blows the others out of the water and is easily the best of the series so far. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it but more about that in a bit.
I absolutely love the character of Josie Quinn. She is a police officer, who has well and truly been through the mill several dozen times. She has had a fair few knocks in her time but each time she gets up, dusts herself down and carries on. A bombshell landed on Josie, when she found out that those she thought were her parents actually aren’t. That bombshell has had a sort of positive effect in that she suddenly has a whole new family to get to know. I did wonder if things were happening too fast for her to cope with. She never seems to get any peace and quiet and she certainly doesn’t seem to get a lot of ‘personal’ time with her partner, who she also works with. Josie and her partner have to put their personal lives to one side and investigate a crime, which their friend and colleague is implicated in. Josie can’t believe that somebody she works with, knows and trusts can be capable of what she is accused of doing. Josie faces a race against time to solve the crime and to prove or disprove her friend’s innocence. Will she manage to solve the crime? Is her colleague Gretchen guilty of what she ahs been accused of? Well for the answers to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out because I am not going to tell you.
OMG ‘Her Final Confession’ is one hell of a rollercoaster ride of a read. For me, it was a case of settle down, buckle up and enjoy the ride. The story starts with a bang and maintains the pace throughout. The beginning of the book starts in such a way that will stay with me for a long time to come. It didn’t take me long at all to get into the story and by the end of the first page, I was hooked. I found it impossible to put the book down. I just had to continue reading because I was desperate to know if Gretchen was innocent and to see who really had committed the crime. I felt like I was an addict in need of my next fix. The author uses such powerful and realistic descriptions that I really did feel as if I was part of the story too and I would randomly utter suggestions to Josie but then I had to remind myself that this is fiction and not real. If I get ‘into’ a book I tend to ‘live’ the story as if it is real.
Reading ‘Her Final Confession’ is much like riding on an at times very scary and unpredictable rollercoaster ride with more twists and turns than you would find on a ‘Snakes & Ladders’ board. There were several unexpected moments that hit me like a punch to the stomach and which left me stunned and breathless.
In short, ‘Her Final Confession’ is one hell of a brilliant read. If you like crime stories that are well written, have a strong lead character in them and you like your stories fast paced then this is the book for you. ‘Her Final Confession’ certainly gets the adrenaline pumping, the blood pressure soaring and the heart rate racing. I can’t recommend this author and this series highly enough. I can’t wait to read more in this series. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.
