This is an easy to read book in Anne’s usual relatable style. Anne has faced a number of big life challenges in recent years with the death of both her husband and father together with her own cancer diagnosis. Throughout these challenging periods in her life she was aware of the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit. In this book she shows us how we are a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. She teaches us the different ways the Holy Sprit works in our lives and how He is an ever present vital third person of the Trinity. There are helpful exercises at the end of each chapter for us to work through if we wish. I received a free copy of this book, a favourable review was not required and all opinions expressed here are my own.

I own and have read several of Anne Graham Lotz's books. This book is the very best one I have ever read about the Holy Spirit. It was an emotional, personal and very eye opening book for me. This covers what I was never taught growing up in church but should be taught in every church. This book covers so much wonderful details that I will be rereading it again! I love that she wrote this book using her own life experiences. This took me on a very emotional journey about my own life experiences as well and I believe it will for everyone who reads it. I would recommend Jesus in Me to everyone.

Living your life with the Holy Spirit as your constant companion is every Christian’s goal. This book is a intimate look inside Ann’s life and walk with her. It’s like sitting down at the kitchen table and having coffee with her and spending the morning sharing with each other. The Holy Spirit is not a magic genie, a flame of fire, or a vague feeling. He is a person who prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. This book explores seven key aspects of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit kinda gets overlooked and underappreciated. We need to listen or feel His presence. Thank you, Anne Graham Lotz for the reminder, education and facts.

I love a good Christian book that helps me to learn and grow so I was excited to read this book. Each chapter, I kept waiting for the book to truly begin and felt like it was more of a story about the author and her experiences than about me (the reader) discovering the holy spirit. I knew some of the book would be about her own personal experience but I didn't realize that would be the main focus, so I was disappointed in this book to use for spiritual growth.

This book is a testimony of the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. Anne Graham Lotz uses her personal testimony about the loss of her father and her husband as well as her own struggle with a cancer diagnosis to be a powerful witness to the Holy Spirit’s presence in the lives on the believers. Told with honesty and empathy, Ms. Lotz makes the reader a part of the experience that she had. At the end of each chapter, she invites the reader to share in her experience with the Holy Spirit and to invite Him into our lives. As a believer for over four decades, I did not think that there was much that I had not heard about the Trinity and specifically the Holy Spirit. But Ms. Lotz surprised me with her insight and wisdom into this very important topic. Jesus did not leave us alone when He ascended into Heaven and the author makes it very clear through her own personal testimony that we are not alone but that the Comforter and the Counselor is with us daily. I really loved the vivid word pictures that Ms. Lotz painted that stretched and strengthened my faith. Readers of books about faith and God’s love will thoroughly enjoy this book and be amazed at God’s provisions for His beloved children.—us!

This book is very perceptive based on Scripture with the combination of her own experiences. You want to learn all the Holy Spirit - it is the book for you. She challenges the subject of the indwelling Holy Spirit in the believer's life, helping readers understand how the Holy Spirit, as a constant companion, transforms a believer's life from mundane to extraordinary.

Anne has always been a powerhouse of a speaker/writer/woman, and I was privileged to be able to read "Jesus In Me." It is an excellent read, full of encouragement and truth for daily reading.

This books is not a dry teaching nor
some kind of theological statements about Holyspirit. It is a hands-on experiential stories that author experienced through out the hardships and difficulties of her life. It surely is touching, and shows how Holyspirit can comfort us in the midst of the storms of life.
After reading this book, I feel more close to the Holyspirit, and I feel more confident to call out the names of Holyspirit. He is surely my advocator, comforter, and counselor. It is not mere words, but he is still active, and help us today. I am thankful that I could read this book.

An outstanding book about how to fill your life with Jesus. It does tell how to become a Christian, but most of the book encourages the reader to allow the Holy Spirit (Jesus) full rein in your life. Mrs. Lotz really opens our minds to the presence of Jesus in our lives and how to enhance his control. Excellent book

“Do you, too, long for faith that really works? Faith that will see you through lonely hours of bereavement? Faith that will be strong in the face of adversity? Faith that remains unshaken when practical circumstances are shattered? Faith that shines like a light in the darkness, pointing others to Jesus? Then fully embrace the Holy Spirit with absolute, total, unreserved trust, and begin experiencing His constant presence . . . on the inside.”

The Holy Spirit is often the most misunderstood member of the trinity. In her book, Jesus In Me, Anne Graham Lotz takes a tricky concept and makes it easier for the average reader to understand. She includes stories of her personal struggles with her health, which really made the book relatable. She talked about the different names of the Holy Spirit, how He works in the lives of believers, and how to deepen our relationship with Him. Each chapter ends with a reflection question and a prompt for prayer or personal application. I believe that I will return to this book often as a reference book and a refresher about the role of the Holy Spirit in my life.

Years ago, I got to go to Anne Graham Lotz' "Just Give Me Jesus" presentation. It was a "not to be missed" event with Fernando Ortega playing worship music, Jill Briscoe teaching on prayer, and Anne teaching Bible Study in addition to her messages during the event. This came about after her book "Just Give Me Jesus" came out. She's had several books come out since then. Her newest offering is Jesus in Me, which could also be called The Holy Spirit for Dummies.

She breaks down the Being of the Holy Spirit into the ways He lives within us and into Old Testament and New Testament ways He worked. Taking all the names of the Holy Spirit, she describes just a few of the ways He works within us and through us. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit rested on people for a specific time or a specific job God wanted done. In the New Testament, we have become the Holy Spirit's dwelling place and thereby have direct access to God.

I remember a night that happened fifteen and a half years ago. I had gone to the doctor for a "routine" visit. "Any problems?" "Just that I'm eating Tums like candy for the indigestion." "Oh, you must have gall stones. Let's set up an ultrasound to check that out." That ultrasound didn't reveal gall stones, but many tumors in my liver, with a special name beyond just cancer. Talk about an event that turns your world upside down, this was it. One night in the week following the ultrasound, I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep until I heard a whisper in my head, "I will keep you in perfect peace because your mind is steadfast on me" repeated over and over again until I fell asleep again. I had experienced the Holy Spirit in a way I couldn't explain.

Anne's writing style is friendly, making the reader feel like she is sitting down with Anne and having a cup of coffee. The information Anne relates is not a "shove it down your throat" type writer, but a friend wanting to share the greatest things in her life.

Five Stars

My thanks to NetGalley.com and Multnomah for providing the galley I read.

Lotz has taken the sometimes mundane daily devotions and focused it on the reason for it all, Jesus. This opened my perspective to seeing Jesus throughout the scriptures. It gives you a closer connection to our savior in a way I never thought about. For those that want to see Jesus’ influence in the scriptures this is the devotion for you.

What a wonderful book about the Holy Spirit’s indwelling! Anne’s writing is so enjoyable as she relates personal stories and really connects with her readers. Her writing style truly is inspired and no matter what spiritual season you are currently experiencing, you can definitely embrace the truths and scriptures that are presented in this book. I love the way she concludes each chapter with a short personal application to help you with your take aways. She also includes several helpful tools in the appendices. I loved the part where she talks about her mom and how she wondered who would be praying for her like her mom did after her mom went on to Heaven. She then explained that the Holy Spirit would - He intercedes for us in whatever we are experiencing. What an inspiring comfort. This is a great book and easy read!

Thanks to Net Galley and Multnomah Publishers for the advanced ebook copy.

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Jesus in Me is a wonderfully written book by Anne Graham Lotz. She does a great job of explaining how the Holy Spirit works as a comforter and a constant companion in terms even a new Christian can understand. I especially enjoyed the way the author used examples from her own life as a widow, an orphan, and a cancer patient to illustrate the power of the Holy Spirit. Great read.

My Favorite Quotes:
“Do you, too, long for faith that really works? Faith that will see you through lonely hours of bereavement? Faith that will be strong in the face of adversity? Faith that remains unshaken when practical circumstances are shattered? Faith that shines like a light in the darkness, pointing others to Jesus? Then fully embrace the Holy Spirit with absolute, total, unreserved trust, and begin experiencing His constant presence . . . on the inside.”

“What strong, howling winds of adversity are sweeping through your life? Is the Enemy hissing in your ear, suggesting that you’ve been forgotten by God? Overlooked or unloved by Him? That in some way He is not pleased with you and that the wind is His way of punishing you? Or that it’s evidence you are not in God’s will or in His place of blessing? Instead, could it be that the wind is the Strengthener at work in your life?”

“So stay focused. Stop looking all around and comparing yourself with others. Stop looking back at what might have, could have, should have been. Stop rolling your eyes in cynical doubt or confusion. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. Get to know Jesus so you will love Jesus and trust Jesus and obey Jesus and serve Jesus and bring glory to Jesus.”
