This is a very nice journal for adults to write about their lives. The quotes are great prompts to help guide you in your journaling and thr photography is really beautiful.

This is an illustrated journal and not a typical book. There are alternating pages of illustrations with quotes about life and aging and lined journal paper. This might be a good gift book for someone retiring from full time employment or hitting a milestone birthday such as 40, 50 or 60.

I think the best way to enjoy it is to read a page a day and reflect on the message.

I was not able to get interested in this book and I did not finish it. The characters and the plot were not able to catch or keep my attention.

And Miles to Go is an illustrated notebook or journal, with single lined pages interleafed with quotes on mostly stock photo backgrounds. It's aimed at those entering their post-retirement years and is broadly themed around aging gratefully and the concept of living a purposeful life. The preface invites readers to reflect on each quote and journal their responses on the adjacent pages. I'd expected more of a guided journal, which this isn't really.
Quotations are drawn from a range of sources, including the author herself and her "travelling companions". Worthies such as Twain, Einstein and Mandela are represented amongst many others, but several of the examples struck me as somewhat superficial, or missing the mark. The accompanying photographs were on the whole fitting to the subject matter, although a few struck me as a bit cheesy.
The production was let down by several rather obvious typos, including misspellings of the names of two of the literary figures quoted.
Thanks to the author and other contributors, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

This is a gorgeous journal that is perfect for adults who want to record their dreams or anything else.

The quotes are terrific and can be used as prompts for what to journal about on that page.

The photography is absolutely stunning.

I rate this as 5 OUT OF 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and I think this journal would make a fabulous gift for yourself or for anyone else.

This book was all over the place. I found it hard to follow. The storyline didn’t make sense to me. I did not finish this book

When I requested this book I was not sure what to expect, after all it is a collection of quotes. I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful journal. This book made me contemplate my choices, it made me laugh and cry. I love that each quote is opposite a lined page where you can jot down your thoughts. It would be interesting to occasionally revisit this book to see if your thoughts have changed.

Thank you NetGalley for the advance reading copy.

A nicely presented journaling book ready for use with lovely photographs and appropriate lines of prose to contemplate. Looking to the here and now, it's aimed at an older group, interspersed with photographs followed by blank pages for one's own reflections.

Self-Help, Uplifting, Health, Mind & Body

Although this book is short, I found great meaning in it. I think the best way to enjoy it is to read a page a day and reflect on the message. There were so many ah-ha moments for me reading these powerful messages.

The uplifting messages are very important especially now. Each message takes just a few seconds to read but will stay with you for a long time. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

This title is an illustrated journal with quotes to inspire older writers. I can see it marketed as a retirement or birthday gift, as it is attractive and useful. The range of quotes and the beautiful photographs resulted in a volume recipients will likely perceive as thoughtful and attractive.

Austensibly aimed at those of retirement age, this beautiful photo book with quotations would inspire anyone. It would make a lovely gift and a great coffee table book. I downloaded it to my phone which was a challenge to appreciate the pictures, so I think it’s best viewed on a full sized lap top, pad, or print edition. There are almost enough pictures and quotes for one a day for a whole year. That is probably how you should enjoy this book; bit by bit, thinking and reflecting on each quote.
I recomment this book, especially as a gift to someone who is in transition, perhaps at retirement.

Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for my digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

I did not find this title on Goodreads so I can't include what their synopsis was :) I chose this title because I really liked the cover and I really like to travel. I didn't really know what to expect from it but it was mostly a picture book with some really nice quotes thrown in. But the pictures were so colorful and amazing that I couldn't get enough of them. Some of them I would probably even hang on my wall, including the quote that went with those particular pictures. There are journal pages after each photo and this is meant to be a way of journaling your experience with the quotes that are included with each picture. A way to reflect on what each one means to you, which I think is sort of brilliant but probably much better if you are reading a paper book. :) It was an enjoyable read that was artfully put together, including some of the most colorful pictures I have ever seen. I would recommend it to anyone who likes spiritual quotes and great photography.

This is the third book I've reviewed from Vanita. Perhaps I'm the age to be reading this book, but I love every single page. The photos, as usual, were beautiful. Each quote resonated more than the last. What a lovely book. I'd like to put this on my book list to give friends as they retire.

Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the ARC. I did find this journal hard to read on kindle. I enjoyed the quotes throughout and like the idea of being inspired by the quotes. It is a nice format better read in hardcover.

A journal with a picture and quote, then a page for thoughts and notes. Over and over, this format is found throughout the book. While I did enjoy the quotes and the concept, I read this online, so was not as useful. Hard to write on the screen.

The title comes from the popular Robert Frost poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, which ends with the sentence, And miles to go before I sleep. I loved the pictures and quotes that accompanied this, although, I did notice that some aren't so much inspirational to only seniors but other age groups as well.

Since I am looking at a Kindle version, I can't really tell me how the line spacing is, or how much room there is for each individuals thoughts,

I do like this book. I think it would be a lovely keepsake, and one that the person'a children will cherish in future years.

I received a complimentary review copy of #AndMilesToGo from #NetGalley

This is a journal that has pages with color photographs with quotes on them, facing blank lined pages to record your thoughts. I like the concept of a journal for those over 65, because this age group typically gets a bit neglected by the journalling/self-help market, but the overall presentation just seems a bit unprofessional and not well put-together. The photos look a lot like stock images, and the quotes feel that way as well - they also don't seem overly related to that age group or aging overall, they are so generic they seem almost randomly selected sometimes. A journal like this but with different images and more thoughtful quotes would be great, but I would not recommend purchasing this specific journal.

There aren’t enough books written about this stage of life, so I was really excited to see this title since I just turned 60. I was thinking it would be more of a narrative rather than a journal. As a journal, the photos are beautiful, and I love the quotes! I would have loved to have more accompanying text from the author.

I am so grateful to have received this ARC from NetGalley. I will be watching for this journal to come out in print so that I can buy a personal copy and repeatedly linger over the beautiful nature shots with inspirational quotes. The title comes from the famous Robert Frost poem which ends by saying " and I have miles to go before I sleep" . The book starts by reminding the reader that for those of us over 60 many of our happiest years are still ahead if we open ourselves to the idea. Every other page is a beautiful photo with an inspirational quote. The next page is a lined blank page for collecting one's own thoughts. The quotes are by such famous people as Winston Churchill, Maya Angelo, Rumi, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Joel Osteen, Jimmy Carter, Eleanor Roosevelt, and some quotes by unknown speakers.
Some of my favorite quotes are: Hurt people. hurt people., Remain teachable, Don't try to fix things with the same brain that broke them and I didn't come this far just to come this far.

I would recommend this journal to others at the stage of their life in which they are ready to take a minute and reflect on the beauty in it and go forth for adventure.
