Thank you to NetGalley, Girl Friday Productions, and LC Entertainment for the review copy of this book.

Let me start by saying I am WAY behind on reviewing this one. I requested it before I really understood how NetGalley worked. That being said, I'm just over here kicking myself in the butt for waiting...3 years(?) to get to it! This book was exactly what I needed in the moment so I am also glad I put it off for as long as I did.

From being a Braves fan, to all of the references to things in the past growing up, I feel like we totally would have been best friends had our paths crossed. I literally 'LOL'd' multiple times. Short, quick, and easy read.

Sometimes all that's left to do is laugh.
Some things happen in life that are so outrageous or absurd that they should have you huddled in a corner or crying through a box of tissues but really all you can do is laugh. A crazy WTF laugh that is somewhat uncontrollable.
Even though I don't share any of the life experiences told in this book with Lauren, I can totally relate to all of it. I think it's her voice or personality that totally makes you feel like she's talking to you as a friend.
However fun it was to read Lauren's adventures and misadventures, she also has some good life lessons advice as well. There are so many quotes to highlight. Most importantly:
"It’s OK to fuck up in life, as I’ve said before. I choose to look back at my past experiences with a twist of humor and growth to implement change."

As soon as I opened the book I couldn't take my eyes away. I read it all at once. I feel like I was at a long lunch with an old friend catching up on life. I didn't want to leave.

(I'm not able to give it a full 5 starts simply because I sometimes got twisted up on the timeline a bit. But it's definitely a 4.5 at least!)

Overall, this book was silly but trashy. Not a huge fan of this one! Too much bad humor for my taste.

A perfect book to read during this Quarantine! It was hilarious and just want to get lost in someone else's story. Def recommend.

Why does this book exist?? I forced myself to make it to the halfway point, which happened quickly since it was such a short book, and there was no point to it!! It was seriously like reading a pre-teens diary. Everything is everyone else's fault, insert not so funny joke, but it's okay to be trashy because life must isn't fair. When life is tough, she found healing in a 5 week trip to Europe. Clearly, not very relatable.

Don't waste your time on this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest opinion.

Usually, I love this type of book, but not this one. The pace and writing was not at all to my liking - to the point where I did not even finish.

Filled with endless amounts of funny quips and advice, Lauren manages to cover it all! From breakups too navigating high school as a teenager, overbearing parents growing up, college life, and finding her happily ever after she's real and raw in her tell-all-book.

The way in which Lauren shares her story made me feel like we were already friends, chatting about life over a glass of wine at happy hour. Her humor adds to her storytelling in a way that makes her narration authentic. How can you NOT be drawn to someone who is both a Classmates.com stalker and a DateBritishGuys.com success story?! This (somewhat) lighthearted snapshot into Lauren’s life makes her book a pretty effortless read and a great story to share with girlfriends at your next get-together.

I’m probably as far away as the target for this book as I could be, being an older gentleman who’s been married for over twenty years. That being said, I enjoyed the book, found it to be entertaining and delightful.

For some reason, I expected the dog to be a bigger part of the story.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

This was such a fun and quick read! As a female who loves cheese and my dog, I found this highly relatable. I want more from this author! Her writing style is very causal and it feels like she is just one of your girlfriends sharing about her funny, complicated life.

Found it a little hard to connect with this one. The cover, title, and blurb seemed like a fun read, so I got this without knowing who the author is and/or having any idea how she is in real life. Did have to force myself to read past all the shagging of the college years (OMG! These chapters just seemed to be about sex, LOL), and by this point, the read kinda dwindled along for me. But since it wasn't a long book, didn't find it a slug to read through and actually finished it despite not connecting that much with the writing and the voice

I read this in exchange for an honest review on Netgalley. However, I did pick this up because I have been loving funny, anecdotal memoirs lately, even for authors I am do not know of or know of very well. Lauren Peacock is a celebrity that I do not really know of since I would rather read than watch TV/movies. I think this was my major downfall in reading this book. Since I don't know of Lauren and I don't really know her demeanor, I couldn't tell if her writing style was a reflection of her in real life. As an example, THE HASHTAGS: she uses so many hashtags in random conversations and I could only think, does she do this in real life, or is she trying to connect with a younger audience? It retracted from my connection with the stories. However, I did really love all of the Friends references!
I guess I didn't read the synopsis fully before I started this book either, because I didn't know that each chapter would basically be about a different man in her dating life. As a girl focused on her career, who has not dated before, this also made it really hard for me to connect, but I think that's more of just my fault, not the books. But this is why I rated the book so low, because I just couldn't connect with it.
What I really liked about the book was that Peacock's writing style felt like she was actually talking to me and telling me these stories (which is why I think the hashtags really detracted from my enjoyment). The stories were funny, and it would have been enjoyable had I been more connected to her life.

What a great short little book to dip in and out of over a weekend.

Lauren Cribb did the typical dating thing and got married and quickly into the marriage realized that this was not how the rest of her life was supposed to go. Enter divorce at a young age and reentering the dating world. It was really interesting reading about someone else's life experiences (i.e. divorce and Hollywood life) that are so drastically different from mine and getting to know someone else who lives in a different place from me.

I could hear the author's voice clearly and as we are close to the same age, I could relate so much to the experiences she was having in the context of growing up with the amount of technology that I did and the pop culture references.

I would have loved to have listened to this on audio as it probably would have felt as though my friend was sitting here telling me all her stories!

I can't believe what a quick read Female Likes Cheese, Comes With Dog by Lauren Peacock is! I started reading and suddenly it seemed I was finished! It was probably almost 2 hours from beginning to end.

The author has a unique voice that shines through in her casual writing style. It really feels like you are sitting with a girlfriend sharing wine and stories - it felt like I know her. While I am from a different generation and did not always get the references (I did immediately recognize "days of yore..." ) I did get what she was talking about regarding losing herself in a relationship and not seeing what others do. She wrote very touchingly (is that a real word?) about living in and through the end of a longterm relationship and the challenges it presents. I am happy to see she has found her lobster and wish them both well.

I hope Ms. Peacock continues to write as I think she has a real flair for it (she gave me 'the feels') and I look forward to future offerings. My prediction is that Female Likes Cheese, Comes With Dog by Lauren Peacock will be a popular summer reading choice and for good reason.
