I don't review books- but I do bring the author and book to our audience, typically via interview. I'm generally not a non-fiction fan, but this book changed the game for me. I loved the passion behind this book- both through the drinks, but also through finding what matters. The historical aspect was impressive, and I learned quite a bit from Julian, as well as from Wright, about the brand and process of making bourbon. Wright's shift of focus to his family, and specifically his daughter and wife, was really warming and relevant. It was as if I was looking into both Wright's world, as well as Julian's- and I wanted to see more. I wanted to learn more. The tie in with the Derby and horse racing was really helpful- especially as a race fan. Wright made me a believer in non-fiction, and I thank him for that.
