I really loved this! After having seen the Netflix series I have been really intrigued in the story adaptations since the original books were published. I loved this version of the story. The art style was gorgeous and it was very easy and quick to read through which was very nice.
They kept a nice contrast in the story and it did definitely not disappoint.

Two of my favourite things: manga and Anne of Green Gables. How could I refuse?

I thoroughly enjoyed this manga adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. The illustration is adorable and the panels are engaging. The art style is captivating and filled with detail. I like how the artwork complements the story, capturing the character’s emotions and atmosphere.

In terms of the storyline, the manga is quite faithful to the original novel. I also love how this manga captures Anne’s charm and mischief—as well as her strong imagination! Overall, this was an enjoyable and quick read. I highly recommend this manga.

Recommended for: fans of Anne of Green Gables, manga, and those wanting to explore classics in a fun way (a great introduction to the classic tale).

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this manga in exchange for an honest review.

This manga adaption of Anne of Green Gables was so wonderful in so many ways--I loved it! From the "how to read manga" in the beginning to the character guides in the back, the book was everything I hoped for. Anne of Green Gables is one of my all-time favorite stories and this novel does it immense justice. Anne is beautifully illustrated and Gilbert is as dreamy as ever. Plus I must say that in this version there is the most wondrous emphasis on Anne and Marilla's relationship that I have read in any version. I absolutely recommend this version to anyone who is a fan of Green Gables, or even if you are new to the story!

I have heard many good things about Anne of Green Gables but have never picked it up myself because it’s just not a book I would usually pick up. Until, I saw this one on Netgalley.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for mangas.

Since I have not read the original I can’t say how well it follows it but what I did read I liked.

Anne is definitely a mood. She has a temper, talks a lot, and is just emotional in general. I can definitely see myself and my daughter as her, haha. Although my daughter has red hair so she is definitely winning on who is more like her!

At times I did find myself a tad bored but it’s just because it isn’t my usual read. I am more of a fantasy type person and that’s okay. I don’t think there is anything wrong with this book. I loved the artwork and can understand why people enjoy this story so much.

Did it make me want to pick up the actual book? In a way, yes. I think I would have to listen to it as an audiobook but I could still get through it.

Overall, I thought this was a good story and a nice introduction into the world of Anne.

4.5
This was such a pleasure to read. We follow the classic tale of Anne of Green Gables as she gets embarks on her new journey in a small town in PEI, in the small cozy house called Green Gables. Once she arrives she learns there has been a mistake and the family had asked for a boy. But don't you worry, Anne with an E wraps everyone in her positivity and warmth, and she soon becomes family. This follows Anna from the age of 11 when she arrives at Green Gables to when she is 17 and starts adulthood.

If you ever enjoyed reading the story of Anne of Green Gables then you would definitely enjoy this as well. This has all the charm and heart of the original story with the upside of seeing Anne in all of her mischief. Anne is as captivating as every with her dialogue and every character, even the smaller one, are just so pleasant to read about. Just like Anne, you can't help love this story.

The art is this mange is of classic manga style and unexpectedly suits the story. the illustrator did a great job in really embodying the feeling of Green Gables.

Overall I highly recommend this book!

Thanks to the publisher for providing an eARC of Manga Classics Anne of Green Gables in exchange for an honest review.

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are endless adaptations of Anne of Green Gables.

Manga Classics stays loyal to it's source material, often times quoting the original text word for word (there's actually a fairly good chance every word in here is a quote. I'm ashamed to admit I've yet to memorize every single word from L. M. Montgomery's original novel).

The artist perfectly catches Anne's whimsy and translates her glowing imagination into a new medium. My only complaints are actually how stunning it was. Anne (though gorgeous in soul, mind, and spirit) was never meant to be a particularly good looking child (fun fact: L. M. Montgomery actually got mad at an adaptation once for casting too pretty of an actress to play Anne) and seeing her complain about her homeliness while being nowhere near homely gave a few scenes a much different vibe. Same goes for some of the darker scene. The darkest was wonderfully handled (you know what I'm talking about but I'm not going to talk about it because I'm still heartbroken) but a lot of Green Gables adaptations gloss over the darkness of Anne's past. While this does include the darkness of Anne's life pre-Green Gables, it's dialogue set against wide eyed, cheery Anne and it significantly lessened the emotional impact.

(this is the first Manga I've ever read so I can't really compare it to anything)

Thank you so much to Manga Classics Inc. and NetGalley for this copy of Manga Classics: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Crystal S. Chan, Kuma Chan, in exchange for an honest review. It published August 14, 2020.

I have to say, this was my first manga and I ADORED it! What a genius way to bring a beloved classic into a new light! The illustrations were expertly done with such fabulous care. I feel that the essence of Anne was truly captured.

I need to buy this and I Can think of more than few other people who I want to get this for, too!

I received an electronic ARC from Manga Classics Inc. through NetGalley.
Chan stays true to Montgomery's novel and weaves it into Manga style. The artwork captures Green Gables and the various characters. The portions that are highlighted reflect the high points of the original book and open the story to more readers.

I absolutely loved Anne of Green Gables growing up and the joy that a young red headed girl named Anne can do to a small town. Girls can do it better then boys when it comes to farming and helping around the outdoors.
Wonderful, Wonderful read

Sweet, solid, faithful adaptation of the original novel. It loses a little bit of the joy and charm Montgomery's original work had, but it does as well as well as is possible for a genre with few words.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my life long favorite books and I have never read Manga before, so I was excited to find out what this was like.

I'm happy to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this. This is a classic Canadian tale of the red-headed orphan who is adopted by a pair of elderly siblings who wanted a boy and got Anne by mistake. There are dozens of characters and many adventures, covering a long span of time, but the author and illustrators did an excellent job telling the story in a clear, entertaining way, with lots of humour and heart.

The book particularly captured Anne's imaginative spirit, her spunky personality, and her love of home and family. I really didn't expect to like this as much as I did. Nothing is the same as the original novel, but this is a great addition to all the versions that are out there.

I read the e-galley available from Manga Classics (Udon Entertainment) in exchange for an honest review.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favourite novels ever and so I was greatly pleased to see that it is the latest Manga Classics to be released. I did enjoy how closely the manga stayed true to the original novel and understanding that parts of it had to be taken out or shortened in order to get into this new genre and form of literature. Overall, I think the artist and writer did a great job and as a longtime fan of the original novel, I am looking forward to adding this manga edition to my own collection.

I haven't read Anne of Green Gables and it has been a long time since I've seen the movies, but as far as I can tell, this is an accurate representation. Just as good as the movies.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my all time favorite books. So when I saw this manga adaptation I was so thrilled. Unfortunately the copy that I received seems to bounce around on the story and doesn't make much sense. My pictures are also chopped in half and incomplete sometimes, but I assumed that was just an issue with converting it to kindle format so I wasn't overly concerned about that. The jumbled up and out of sequence storyline may also be a flaw with the format conversion, but since this is the copy I received it is the only one I have to rate it by. I would love to see a print copy of this book and if it was not a jumbled story, then I am sure I'd absolutely love it. Maybe the publisher can fix these format issues and send out an updated copy so that I can get a proper feel for the book and give Anne the rating she deserves. Until then my rating is based on an impossible to read copy.

Manga the follows the plot of the Japanese cartoon instead of the books of L.M.Montgomery, nevertheless, a great reading.

Manga che segue la trama del cartone giapponese piuttosto che dei libri della Montgomery, ma siccome stiamo parlando di Anna dai capelli rossi, va bene tutto.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!
