Overall, this was a quick book to read and I found it to be inspiring.
I'm so grateful to Doug Bender, Nelson Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This is my first book by Doug and thankfully I knew what I am second was. It's a book about God's love and the unlikely path we all take back to his arms and the joy that we experience afterward. The book also features prominent people who share their story and these include David and Tamela Mann share their struggle with anger and abuse, Jason Castro talks about his pornography addiction among others. These stories will inspire and encourage you
I Am Second is an organisation that I have been following, almost since it's inception in 2008. The stories told and the messages presented have been influencing many people over the past 13 years. I love that they have decided to now put these stories into writing and create books that collect the stories around a theme. I Found Love collates the stories connected with love, friendship and belonging. These stories are just snippets of what God has done in these people's lives, but they are still impactful.
I really enjoyed how the stories are short and to the point. They can be used individually or as a whole book. I'm even considering using the stories individually for the teenagers I work with. Personally, I love hearing other people's stories and so really enjoyed this book.
In "I Found Love", Doug Bender compiles the stories of several celebrities who experienced the love of God. It was interesting to read these real-life stories, and the stories themselves were short and easy to read. Some of the stories were much more interesting to me than others (Jason Castro, Sean Lowe, etc.). Overall, this was a quick book to read and made me smile.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
