This book was not for me. The premise sounds great, give someone 365 days to fall in love with you. The execution was not what I expected. I was looking for more of a romance vibe, but got some very uncomfortable vibes instead. I do appreciate that there is an audience for this book, I'm just not it.

This book was not entirely what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be all spice with no plot or emotion and I was pleasantly surprised. I felt the chemistry as it developed between Laura and Massimo and I was hooked. I will say I didn’t love the ending, it made me sad and felt unexpected to me. Still a great read overall!

Unfortunately this book was not for me. The writing style and overall story seemed a bit cheesy and overdone. Maybe I've just read too many similar novels, but it just didn't sit with me as i was reading through this one

New to me author but definitely won't be last. Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Thanks Netgalley and to the publisher for letting me read this advance copy.

Before I knew this was book I had seen the movie. The movie was good but after reading the book, I prefer the book. There is definitely more in the book that's not in the movie.

Usually Mafia themed books are not for me but since I had seen the movie I thought why not give it a try. To be completely honest I almost dnf the book because it had started to feel a bit repetitive. But by the end I realized I wanted to see how Laura and Massimo relationship progresses. This book does end on a cliffhanger and is told through Laura POV.

The premise of someone wanting 365 days to get you to fall in love with them was interesting, but this story fell a bit short. I didn’t really like the characters that much and the chemistry was lacking. I thought Laura would be more of a fighter, more independent, but she drank too much and was very shallow when everything is better when you get to wear expensive clothes. Massimo is okay as a character, but not really likable. I want to read the second just to see if something changes, but this was just okay.

This story is one wild ride! The plot is one that just grabs your attention and doesn’t let go and when you add wicked characters that make being bad fun, the book captivates you!!

Definitely avoid this story if explicit encounters offend you — otherwise if you enjoy darker and daring stories, you will enjoy this book!!

Kidnapped by the mob boss. Wooed with food and expensive gifts. And lots and lots of sex. And that's about all this has to offer.

This just didn't work for me overall. I'm not sure what the huge appeal is, but guys like this that manipulate and control everything aren't to be revered. They should be avoided at all costs - and most of them should probably be in jail. They should definitely not be held up as a standard to look for in a relationship.

Recommended only for those looking for abusive sex, talk of clothes and drinking, and not much else.

I watched the movie and had to give it a try. I’m a fan of mafia romances so it was quick to get into it. I enjoyed reading a book set in Europe, that was a nice change in scenery.

365 Days brings us Massimo, the head of an Italian mafia family, and Laura, the woman of his literal dreams. After finally finding Laura by chance, Massimo kidnaps Laura and asks her for 365 days to give him the chance to get her to fall in love with him. He attempts to open up to her, to be a different person for her and in the end he may just win her over. While he’s done so much to get the woman of his dreams, he’s allowed the mafia world to see his weakness. Laura is thrown into this whole other world and if she falls for Massimo, she needs to learn how to navigate this new life.

It was overall a good book. I think this may have been the most high fashioned book I’ve ever read with constant name drops on high end brands. A lot of time was spent reading about Laura’s outfits and because I’m not that into fashion it got old quickly. The other thing that got old quickly was her name for Massimo, “the man in black”. I didn’t particularly care for that name, I thought it was a little weird. In general I enjoyed it. I think the book was better than the movie, as usual, and I’m looking forward to the next book. Definitely would recommend for those who enjoy the mafia romances.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

My review is based on an ARC of this book.

In my opinion, this book was terrible. I am all for steam and smut but this was just comical. I gave it 2 stars because the sex scenes were pretty descriptive even though they were not my cup-of-tea I am sure this is someone's kink.

Let's start with the characters:
The main female character, Laura/Baby Girl is so incredibly spoiled and unlikable right from the start. I am fine with a girl who knows she is gorgeous but a self-centered girl who goes on and on about how beautiful she is all the time gets old. She is very materialistic and for being 29 she acts like a 16-year-old throwing temper tantrums.

Massimo, Don, the Man in Black is your stereotypical mob boss. I think I can best describe him as knock-off Fifty Shades of Grey. I say knock-off because this guy has a line in the book straight out of 50 Shades, "I need you to teach me how to be gentle". He has no depth other than he likes rough sex and has control issues.

The plot:
"Baby girl" was kidnapped by "the Man in Black" as she refers to him over and over again. Her friends go about their lives after reading a note that she allegedly left saying she returned home to Poland. They don't check on her or anything they literally just go out and party as if she was never their friend.
If there is any type of change in scenery or location Laura passes out or sleeps. It is like the author was unable to find a way to transition without the characters losing consciousness. Every time Laura comes too she is disoriented for a second then is just suddenly okay with her situation. Also a bottle of champaign is thrust into her hands as soon as she wakes up despite this random heart issue she has. The day she wakes up from being kidnapped she takes a shower before going to meet her kidnapper... what??
She doesn't stay upset for long because Massimo takes her shopping and buys her every materialistic thing she ever wanted. Later he punishes her by making her watch him have sexual interactions with another girl. Somehow Laura is only upset that it isn't her... This guy just kidnapped you, you know nothing about him, he tied you to a bed, and you're mad because your not the one sucking him off??
After this encounter, she doesn't see him for three days and gets mad about that. Don't worry she ends up on a yacht - falls asleep again - and wakes up to join Massimo in a hot tub. They have the most unnatural sex ever and at this point, I stopped reading. 44% finished.

Laura Biel and her boyfriend are on a dream vacation in beautiful Sicily. On the second day of their trip, her twenty-ninth birthday, she is kidnapped. Her kidnapper is none other than the head of a powerful Sicilian crime family, the incredibly handsome, young Don Massimo Torricelli, who is determined to possess her at all costs. Massimo has his reasons. During an earlier attempt on his life, a vision appeared before his eyes: a beautiful woman, identical to Laura. After surviving the attack, he vows that he will find the woman in his vision and make her his own. No matter what.

For 365 days, Massimo will keep Laura captive in his palatial estate and attempt to win her heart. If she doesn’t fall in love with him during this time, he will let her go. But if she tries to escape at any point, he will track her down and kill her entire family.

Soon Laura develops a fascination with her handsome and powerful captor. But as a precarious, risky relationship forms between them, forces outside their control threaten to tear them apart...

I had originally watched the movie before reading the book as I saw it on TikTok. I did enjoy the movie even there was major TW. The book and the movie are relatively the same. The h is basically kidnapped by the H and anyone story ensues. I did enjoy reading the book as I wanted to compare to the movie. I really can’t wait till the second installment of the series comes out.

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book

Yes, I saw the movie. It is spicy, to be sure. I was excited to read the book. But I was disappointed. I don't know if it had to do with the nature of the translation, or if the book is just a bit clunkier to start out with, but I didn't enjoy it. Yes, the scenes were still spicy, but I didn't really get the relationship and slow burn that occurs in the movie. And, without that, this is just a creepy concept. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book, even if you are just looking for a steamy read.

We all know the Netflix movie and I’ll be honest that is exactly how I discovered this book. I quite enjoyed the Netflix movie and the story so I obviously wanted to read the book.

365 Days is a love story between Laura and Massimo, who is a mafia boss. (Don) Massimo first sees or dreams of Laura after he is injured but he has no idea who this mystery women is though he seeks to find her and when he finally comes across her path while she is on vacation with her boyfriend in Sicily, he takes her. He vows to keep her captive for 365 Days, hence the name, until she falls in love with him.

Now I know that this is a translation and sometimes things don’t translate perfectly into another language so I’m not sure if it is the authors writing or the translation, but this book just read a little strange to me. I really was not a fan of the writing, it just wasn’t for me.

I do feel that the story was a little more fleshed out than the Netflix adaptation, but because of me not clicking with the writing I found myself not quite ever completely connecting with the story.

I do like the idea of the story, and the characters, but the writing just was not for me.

I saw the movie - we all saw the movie WHICH is why I wanted to read the book. It was interesting but I did feel that there were some more world building and plot line filling that could have been done. Would read the second installment to see what happens to this couple - good ore bad - but I have a feeling this author will be bringing the drama.

2.5/5 stars

Massimo, head of the Sicilian mafia, kidnaps Laura while she's on vacation and gives her an ultimatum. Laura will be a captive for 365 days and if she doesn't love Massimo by end, he will release her. Okay, so this was a very questionable romance from the get go with the kidnapping and 365 days deal. The chemistry was good with a build up to very open door, steamy, not always consensual, and sometimes violent sex scenes. I really enjoyed the overly dramatic story and chemistry between Laura and Massimo. However, even knowing that there were darker themes, even more so than the movie, the drug use and non-consensual sex was too much to fully enjoy this one.

OhMgee. What a story. I loved the movie, but wow the book is obviously better. That ending of the book is not quite like the ending of the movie. But still Wowzers!

This being popular as a streaming movie, I was interested in reading before I watched. It wasn't my cup if tea at all. However I would recommend to others who I know enjoys this subgenre. For me personally I didn't care for it.

I mean what can on say except praise the new Smut queen! Intriguing, action packed and two sexy characters. I’m invested and ready to read the sequel.

This is a quick paced, steamy read. I had watched the movie on Netflix and went into it with high hopes! I love a dark romance and this hits all the bases - mafia, obsession, kidnapping. I am very excited to read the second book in the series to see where Laura and Massimo’s story goes!
