If you're a fan of dark romance, then you will absolutely love this book! It's definitely not for everyone as it does contain content that can be disturbing to some readers, such as kidnapping and violence, so please check the trigger and content warnings before reading!

The book begins with Massimo kidnapping Laura, but he tells her that he won't do anything without her permission and wont force her to be with him. Rather, he will only be with her when she falls in love with him, and if she isn't in love with him by her next birthday, then he will let her go back to her old life.

"Are you lost, baby girl?" Massimo, Massimo, Massimo.... I would let that man kidnap me any day of the week. I am a sucker for the kidnapping trope and this book did not disappoint. Massimo is the quintessential Don who is possessive and controlling and oh boy do I love it!

Also, that boat scene lives in my head rent free. Honestly, I recommend reading this book just for that scene. Enjoy!

Thank you NetGalley for a free copy of this book via Kindle in return for an honest review.

Check out my more detailed thoughts below…
Characters: I know so many of us romance readers love mafia books. So if you are looking for one with a nice balance of enjoyable characters you are going to care about and some good steam, do not read 365 Days. I did not like Laura or Massimo very much and I see how uncomfy this book can make many readers. If you want good mafia romance I would highly recommend either Giana Darling’s Anti-Heroes in Love duet or any of the books in Katee Robert’s O’Malley world including the Bastard’s Betrayal.
Setting: The setting is mostly Italy. I am biased when I say that I love Italy. Yet I do think more could have been done with this setting. I did enjoy time on the yacht, that was sure fun.
Pacing: I have to start off by complaining about the translation. Reading this was quite rough. I got used to it after a while but I should not have had to. I do not know if the book reads better in its original Polish or if the writing itself is just not very good. It made me put the book down for a few months and only pick it back up again when I received an ARC of book two. I also found it hard to get into because I had already seen the movie. Once I was further into it and things began to differ, I was a bit more entertained.
Romance: We all knew this book would be pretty damn steamy. Some of the scenes read even more steamy than how they were depicted on screen. The movie almost had to hold back from depicting things as is. In terms of a healthy relationship or even having a desire to cheer these two on, I really did not like them.

I haven’t seen the show/movie but I’ve heard people talking about it so i snagged this book and hmmmm, it’s interesting. i can see why people love it AND hate it, it’s not a book for everyone and only for those dark romance lovers. I enjoyed it but a lot of red flags in the book.

This book was not for me. It glorified kidnapping, violence, abuse and coercion. I'm not sure how the Netflix version was hugely successful. Can't read a book just for the smut. The contents were hugely disturbing.

I have to be honest, I have mixed feelings on this, and haven’t quite settled on which way I’m leaning. I’m a big gangster/mafia fan. And I do live locales that are somewhere exotic. But I’m just not sure completely where I fall here. It’s not my favorite, but not my worst either. Let’s see what the next one brings.

Mafia romance, kidnapping, hot. While I know there's a Netflix show I feel like you could still read this book and enjoy it. If you haven't seen the show like me, then this book is hot, sexy, but then again is it love? Or is it Stockholm syndrome?

Lipinska's novel can only be described as 50 Shades of Gray, European style.
A Mafia boss, obsessed by a woman, kidnaps her with the goal of making her fall in love with him. The premise is somewhat disturbing, but it's not the novel's worst problem.
The writing and character development is not the best. You don't find yourself rooting for anyone, or even caring about what happens to these people.
Perhaps the only interesting part is the ending. That's the only thing that made me say, "huh. Didn't expect that."

I definitely enjoyed this book. It was very intense and had tons of sex scenes. There were a few moments that I cringed internally with the writing, but I think that was mostly because of the way things were translated. It definitely had moments where the translation didn’t flow so well. There were also some other cringe scenes with some of the dialogue, but there were only a few of them. This book falls well into the erotica side of romance. It definitely was an unconventional romance plot, one that many do not condone in real life, (believe me, I don’t) but in fiction it made for a compelling read. It’s a book to enjoy at face value and not overthink the darker subtext of the story. It doesn’t have a classic HEA, but there is a sequel coming out that should hopefully wrap up the plot. Overall, it was a steamy read that won’t be for everyone.

365 Days was a decadent and melodramatic erotic romance that took readers from the dangerous world of the mafia to a passionate affair that started with an abduction.I will start by saying that I haven’t watched the 365 Days movie on Netflix yet, although I have watched the trailer so I had a good idea of the heat level this would have. It was definitely hot. And kinky. But it was also confusing. I have a feeling that the story was a bit disjointed probably where it was translated from Polish to English. However I was a little sad that there wasn’t a whole lot in the way of a plot through most of the book aside from our hero kidnapping the heroine and the deal he made to win her over in 365 days.

Don Massimo and Laura were a volatile pair. It honestly reminded me of the dramatic romances in 80s soap operas where the heroine goes from yelling at the hero and smacking his face to then being completely turned on. Yeah, that was Laura and Massimo to a T, right down to the champagne drinking, spa days, and focus on fashion over substance. It did sort of fit with the mafia world he lived in. But I wanted to see more of a true connection built between them, not the brief glimpses of genuine emotion we saw between Laura’s theatrics and Massimo’s high handed ways.

I really had high hopes for this after watching the movie on Netflix. But as soon as I started reading it I was disappointed. The main character told us what she was wearing for every scene in detail and then she went on about her weight and how fit she was. It just seemed like it was written more like a fanfiction. I had to dnf this one.

Laura and Massimo's story is deep, complicated, and dirty.

Laura and her boyfriend Martin are on their dream vacation when in an instant, everything changes. Laura is kidnapped, and given 365 days to fall in love with her handsome captor. Her kidnapper, Massimo is every woman's dream: tall, dark, handsome, and extremely wealthy. The only catch is that he's the head of a powerful mob family in Sicily.

While their relationship began in a place of hate, strong feelings begin to form and Laura has no idea what she's gotten herself into until she's already in too deep...

365 days is about a mafia don who encounters the girl of his dreams, kidnaps her, and asks her to give him 365 days to show her he can make her fall in love with him. She’s reluctant (obviously! And that’s a nice way of putting her reaction) at first but eventually she can no longer fight her attraction.

Thank was an okay read. I enjoyed Laura’s character and the strength she possessed. Massimo is that alpha-asshole male that you want to hate but secretly love. There did seem to be a lot of extra dialogue/thoughts/descriptions that were unnecessary and caused the book to lose me at times. But I still kept picking it back up, wanting to know what happened. I did enjoy the story over all..

I admit, I was a little skeptical when I read the synopsis but this book had been recommended to me a few times so I decided to give it a try. I was blown away by how much I couldn't put it down. The characters are vibrant and the story fast paced. The final line has me already googling when the next book will be out. I'm a fan!

This was…. A ride. One that I will not be taking again, fortunately. This book generated a lot of buzz because of the Netflix movie based off of it last summer. While I was excited to read this one, I was also nervous due to the harmful, violent nature of the content. Abuse is not romance. Kidnapping is not romance. Being a sex slave as a result of said kidnapping is definitely not romance! There is a lot of lust and physical attraction in this book that the author (and fans of this book) try to portray as love. I requested this book because I have a soft spot for mafia stories and “bad boys” that have a redemption arc. Unfortunately this book fell flat of that, and, well, everything else.

After the movie, I was curious about the book at the time it was only in Polish and when the English version was announced I knew I had to read it! Thank goodness I did!

Laura Biel is ready for a vacation to celebrate her 29th and one of her stops is in Italy. Laura is in a relationship with Martin, who doesn't give her spark. The Man In Black (Don Massimo Toricelli) couldn't believe his eyes when his saw Laura the women in his visions. Massimo sets up a plan to kidnap her and keep her for 365 days, after that she is free to leave. Laura is a strong dominant women who questions and pushes Massimo past his limits. Together there is fire and spark, each of them dominate character who say what is on their minds. The story flowed, while there was instant attraction there was a building of love from Laura side came a bit later. I would consider this more of a mob alpha hero romance, I have read dark books this is lighter but still carry some of the elements of a mild dark romance. I enjoyed both Laura and Massimo characters, nothing was hidden each character stayed true to their nature.

After that cliffhanger OMG!! I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!

This is a dark mob romance with Stockholm syndrome, that moves quickly.

I saw this book and remembered the movie that came out from it and how much epople talked about it so I decided to give it a go!

And oh wow that was something else entirely, nothing like I've read before for sure. This book is definitely not for everyone, but if you're a Fifty Shades of Grey fan then you'll enjoy this one!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for the earc in return for an honest review
