I was immediately drawn to the cover and title of this book, especially being a grump myself (and not just on Valentine's Day, which I celebrate lol). This was a cute read with an unexpectedly sweet ending. I loved the vibrant artwork and all the pink. Kids will have fun with the interactive elements too.

We read and enjoyed Cocoa's Cranky Christmas, so knew we had to read Cocoa's Cranky Valentine. I read this to my 4 yo grandson and he enjoyed the story, especially the cat who teased Cocoa. In this story Cocoa gets a valentine card, but the kitten grabs it and runs off with it before he can even see who it is from. He chases it, tries to get it interested in something else and then has to find the card. Along the way, there are things for the listener to do such as follow the wool or show cocoa how to dance. He enjoyed the story, but wasn't keen on some of the activities, but we did enjoy the book. The illustrations are cute and add much to the story. Overall this is a cute valentine story about friendship and the unexpected.

They are so fun and engaging that even I participated in them with my daughter.

Keep them coming!

Cocoa is back with Cocoa's Cranky Valentine by Thomas Nelson. This book is adorable and is a great read for Valentine's Day. Cocoa is a bit cranky and why you are reading it is your job as the reader to cheer him up with the various interactive cues.

I own an educational center, and I am so excited to add this book to our preschool program. My little reading friends will love doing the actions along with the story. It is so cute, and the grumpy dog is a perfect fun spin on a fun Valentines story. I can’t wait for our future story time with Cranky Cocoa!

What a great interactive book. Great for Mom, Dad or Grandparents to act with little ones. From tracing string to taking breaths this is sure to be a fun book for children. The interactions are good motor and speaking skill activities. The illustrations and facial expressions are right on target. I recommend this book for the Valentine Day library.

This was quite a cute and fun read. It introduces us to Cocoa the dog who is a cranky bugger and this Valentine's Day he has a secret admirer who hopefully turns his frown upside down and puts some love into him. He gets a card, but just as he is about to open it the cat comes and snatches it and now won't give it back to Cocoa. Can we help Cocoa grab his card and find out who is his Secret Admirer in time for Valentine's Day? As someone who used to work with children and toddlers. This book would have been a perfect one to use for toddler time or an early school visit as the book is interactive and kids love interactive stories and get into them. On some pages, it tells the children to help blow to 5 or use your finger to trace the end of the yarn, etc. Cocoa's Cranky Valentine is the perfect colorful and interactive read for children aged 3-6 years old. Also, it was very cute, when Cocoa's secret admirer is revealed.
