I have been looking to go more "plant-based" for sustainability and health reasons. I found some info really interesting and useful, such as being able to work out how much protein both me and my partner should be consuming but none of the recipes stood out to me, probably not helped by my allergies, intolerance's and general fussiness - this recipe book would not help me change my diet and lifestyle as required. That being said, this is just my opinion, for someone who is able to eat more freely, this recipe book would be great for keeping an eye on your protein intake and getting some more greens into your diet.

My husband and I have been looking for a great plant-based diet to change our ways in eating. When I first learned about this book, I was extremely excited but the more I dug into the book, I realized that I personally would have a hard time sticking to this diet and lifestyle change. I have a lot of food allergies but my husband does not and fell in love with the recipes in this book. Now that he can change his eating habits, I'm excited to see how he does with some of the recipes.

I highly approve of this book as it is WHOLE FOOD --- not boxes of fake ch’ck'n from the grocery store that have 100+ ingredients vs. one real ingredient and the high protein that is missing in so many vegan diets is not a problem with these recipes. There are even recipes in here that I could feed hubby and that he would eat .. not that I would necessarily share that they were vegan! 😊 The best brownies I have ever had in my life were vegan (thanks, Jenny!) so I cannot wait to try this Black Bean Fudge Brownies recipe and compare them…. how different could they be in reality as there are only so many ways one can make vegan black bean brownies? (I will update this review when I actually do make them … it is Calcutta hot and humid outside so no baking will be done for quite a while!)

A great, healthy way to eat vegan: and animal products can easily be added in for picky eaters and to avoid making 6 different meals as my SIL did as she would ask her kids WHAT THEY WANTED FOR DINNER!?!?!?!? (no wonder they are entitled millennials who expect the world given to them on a plate!)

I was expecting just a regular cookbook with this one, some new recipes to try out. But, this book is full of great information! I found it motivating and exciting! I loved that the author gives calculations to figure out what my body needs, the protein per gram of different foods, and puts it all together in a plan to make it an easy jumping off point. I am eager to take the shopping list and get started with the meal plan provided. Highly recommend if you're interested in a plant based diet.

Thank you! As the owner of way too many plant-based cookbooks I ordered and never used because they were complicated, used ingredients I didn’t use, or were just not good.

This is an exception to that. I loved every simple but delicious recipe in this book.

The author understands eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult and time consuming.

Every one of them is something I would eat. The best book I have in my library.

Well, if you're trying to add variety to your diet and decrease on meat, or if you're trying to start a vegan lifestyle, this book is a great start, I think. It even has a 4 week meal plan. Each recipe comes with the nutritional facts.. There are quite some dishes and snacks I've added on my ''to try'' recipes. I'm always on the lookout for some variety.. And this book changes from classic recipe books since it's all plant based and rich in protein.

I have been interested in starting a plant n based diet but did not have luck finding recipes that appealed to me. This book had given me many options for various meals and meal plans. I am looking forward to trying many of them out.

High-Protein Plant-Based Diet for Beginners is a guide and menu plan for a vegan-based lifestyle. There's some good basic info here if you are a beginner, and some of the recipes look really amazing. I love the colorful pictures showing us the final product!

While this could be a good guide for someone new to this eating lifestyle, the eating plan is extremely restrictive, and as someone with multiple food allergies, I was frustrated many times that the options are so limited. If you're looking for something that will guide you in the first steps of a new lifestyle, this might be the book for you.

Howard’s book gives great information on the importance of protein in anyone’s diet and breaks down how to get enough protein if your diet is plant based. There are many easy recipes, too. For anyone new to plant-based eating, this book is an easy introduction.

This cookbook felt too restrictive for me. I understand it’s high-protein and plant based, but the types of food aren’t appealing to me at all. It seems more like a weight loss book instead of a cookbook with amazing recipes.

I’m always happy to read new plant-based cookbooks, but was very disappointed in this one. If you’re looking for high protein recipes, this is not it.

The first 10% of the book is plant-based 101 basics like what types of spices you can use to add flavor, how to use a blender, baking vs. roasting vegetables, etc. All very basic! The next 15% of the book is a 4-week meal plan which sounds great, but these are NOT high-protein recipes. For example, day 1 is an acai smoothie bowl for breakfast, veggie soup for lunch, kale Caesar salad for dinner, and coconut cacao bars for dessert/snack –all of those would definitely leave me hungry.

I was really hoping to see some recipes truly high in protein as I’ve not been meeting the daily RDA and needed some new ideas. The breakfast chapter was almost all smoothies, granola, breakfast bowls, and oats –a lot of the same things I’ve seen 100 times in other vegan cookbooks. There’s also a chapter for soups and one for salads –again, very basic recipes that have been done by other authors so many times (veggie burgers, chickpea salad, sweet potato stew). With this cookbook boasting as high protein, I was really hoping to see some scrambles, grain bowls, bean-heavy meals, etc. I also could not find a single recipe that used tofu, seitan, or anything like that.

As someone who wants to eat a more plant-based diet, this seems like a great resource. There's a great beginners guide that I found to be very helpful. I really appreciated the focus on protein because that’s always been my concern with going fully plant based. Overall, this was a great cookbook that offered a wide variety of recipes. I would recommend this cookbook to people who are looking to add more plant-based recipes into their meal rotations.

This book might be for you if you've never made a smoothie or black bean brownies. There's really nothing new here and nothing I would make that I don't already. It definitely didn't give me enough protein sources to incorporate into my lifestyle since quinoa and soy make me super sick.

This is a very interesting look at a protein rich, plant based diet. The author does a great job of outlining different kinds of plants that contain protein as well as showcasing how these protein rich foods can work together to create an interesting, varied menu of plants. The copy I received had very few pictures so it would be interesting to see the final book and how the dishes could be presented. I thought this was a very clearly written and well thought out book. It would be a good addition to any plant based kitchen.

This is an excellent Plant-Based resource for beginners. The recipes are easy to follow and there is enough variety to find something fore everyone. I was able to find quite a few options that I will absolutely be trying!

I am currently trying to up my protein intake and this book has been a savior! Books like these are the reason people are able to make beautiful and tasty food that fills their belly and their hearts!

I will for sure be making many recipes off of this book! Extremely necessary for anyone who wanted to eat a little more plant based while still balanced!
