Oh my gosh, I couldn't have requested this book fast enough! I have been a longtime fan of Donald Miller. From his books, to the Storyline conference. His book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years was a significant catalyst of change in my life, and all these years later - it was so exciting to see this book that I feel builds on a lot of the same principles. It's a perfect book to start a new year with, and one that I will be purchasing as gifts for my friends. This book is the perfect blend of inspiration and practicality. I felt challenged and eager to put these new insights into practice in my own life. Thank you for the ARC, NetGalley!

"Hero On a Mission" by Donald Miller is a delight to read and I will definitely be buying it and re-reading it in the future. This is one to own. This book will I spire as well as mobilize you.

I am a fan of Miller's books so I might be a little biased. But this is my favorite of his latest books. That's largely because I'm going through many of the same growing pains he describes as himself going through prior to really getting his author career off the ground, and can definitely relate to a victim and a villain mentality.

This is absolutely worth reading, owning, and sharing.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Donald Miller’s latest is based on an interesting concept, and the compelling way he lays out the reasons to resist casting ourselves as the victim in the story of our own lives is enough in its own to make the book a worthwhile read. Things get a bit thin beyond that, though. There is lots of repetition to fill out the pages, and not much description or suggestions of how to be the hero and/or guide, the two most desirable roles. A+ concept, B execution. But again, worth it if it helps readers resist the temptation to victim hood.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book.

I got a digital copy of the book via NetGalley. I really liked the book. The good thing about the book is that even if you don't read the entire book (though I recommend you read the entire book), if you only read the introduction and the first chapter, you will remember the core messages from the book.

Donald Miller talks shares his personal story and experience in an easy to read and interesting anecdotal way that makes it an easy to read book.

Overall, I think this is a good book and the message is needed in the world.

I have adored Donald Miller since his debut. This was a refreshing read that made me think all the deep thoughts while still laughing with Miller's known humor. Hero on is Mission is a helpful tool to discover where you are going in your life and how you can redirect your path.

I’ve always appreciated Donald Miller’s books, so reading this one was a treat! The base of the book centers around what character we play: the villain, the victim, the hero, or the guide. I found that to be very insightful, and it provided a solid foundation for the entire book.

In a world of shallow self-help books, this book stands above. Instead of offering instagramable inspirations that lack a basis for motivation, Miller lays out a step by step plan for improving yourself and evolving from a victim to a hero and from a villain to a guide.
