Nice book singing La bamba

When I saw the title La Bamba, I thought the 80s tune. It’s not, but I don’t care. I do not recognize the song that this is or this comes from and I think that made it so much better with the two different languages since most the time you have something that’s very well known in English being transcribed into Spanish and this time it’s the other way around. This book is just another great addition to the series that you should check out

The cutie Canticos chicks are back, this time for a bilingual board book on the classic folk song “La Bamba.” The book is folded into an accordion fold, with English on one side and Spanish on the other. In addition, tots will love the flap on every page, urging them to sing and dance and play!

My own quibble is that some parents might be dismayed that Susie Jaramillo does not faithfully translate the Spanish lyrics; in fairness, the original song contains enough nonsensical lines (think nursery rhymes) that her translation will certainly make more sense to Anglo parents and children. Make your own judgment, but I really liked this board book, perfect for gifting.

La Bamba is a cute children's board book, which is a part of the Canticos Bilingual Nursery Rhymes collection. It is based on the song La Bamba, and the book encourages dancing and singing, with the text in English and Spanish. The illustrations are bright, colourful and eye-catching, which all little children will adore, and the book has little flaps which little hands will love to lift up. My daughter and I really enjoyed this book.

La Bamba is an adorable board book full of dancing and singing chicks. Based on the song La Bamba the colorful illustrations help readers learn about body movement in English and Spanish. This would be a wonderful book for storytime while incorporating music.

This is a cute bilingual lift-the-flap book that has a song throughout and has kids sing along to the words.

An easy and fun way to learn some Spanish, or for the Spanish speaker to learn English. Turn on your song, La Bamba, and sing with the cute animals in the book. And with lift-the-flap book, learning language will be amazingly exciting.

I like the repetitiveness of the text, it allows for you and your little one to focus on the pronunciation of the words while repeating them throughout the song. The illustrations were fun and I love that the tune is the same in English and Spanish, that helps.

A second look for me at the work of this house and its bilingual English/Spanish output, where you get equal presentation of both languages, so whichever one if any you have a slight bias towards you will be carried on with your learning of the other. This uses the lyrics to the well-known old Mexican ditty, "La Bamba", and gets us up on our feet and demanding much consideration of our bum bum. With judicious use of interesting flaps, and the brightest chick characters (with a friendly baby elephant of the same scale too, of course) the book gives us some body vocab, some musical words and phrases, and I think demands a whole class full of youngsters push the furniture aside and have a right ol' song and dance. This could be extremely joyous, then – and even if it's for quiet study (which it isn't) it would still serve very nicely. We can even forgive when it's not the literal translation that we're playing with.
