After Lorri rids herself of her no good husband and moves to another town for a fresh start, so seems content with her life. She has good friends, a giant dog and her sanity. She's enjoying her new surroundings and everything it has to offer and is really in no hurry to be in a relationship again. Ryder is still working to deal with the loss of his wife and son, his parents being off on their retirement adventure and the loss of the family land. He stays busy and enjoys the relationship he has with his sister and her children, always available to lend a hand or share in their accomplishments. When Ryder and Lorri cross paths, they enjoy the time they spend together and the banter they share. They're both healing from their pasts, learning to trust and put themselves out there again but can they come together after learning of the connection they share. Make some time to sit and read this one, you'll want to keep reading once you start. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

The Wedding Ranch by Nancy Naigle

Lorri Walker is picking up, dusting off, and moving on, when she makes the decision to buy a home in the small town of Dalton Mill. Newly divorced she’s finding she likes being on her own, rediscovering hobbies set aside, and lots of time outside with her dog Mister. She’s certainly not looking for the complications of a new relationship when she meets Ryder Bolt. Hardly ‘love at first sight’ this closed door romance is a slow burn. Both Lorri and Ryder have significant things in their past to work through. Lorri and Ryder find themselves working together on a high profile wedding at his family’s farm forcing them to reconsider first impressions, and perhaps a future.
It’s not surprising that this reads very much like a Hallmark movie as several of Nancy Naigle’s previous books have been adapted for Hallmark. This is where she absolutely shines and her target audience.

This book is for you if you love:

💗Hallmark movies
💗Small town romance
💗Slow burn, closed door, clean romance
💗Can’t resist cowboys and dogs

If you’ve never read any books by Nancy Naigle I can also recommend Until Tomorrow, as well as two holiday books, Hope At Christmas and A Heartfelt Christmas Promise.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Nancy Naigle, and Netgalley for the Advanced Review Copy.

Sadly, I had previously not read anything by Nancy! While reading this I asked myself how I had made such a huge mistake! She is a phenomenal author and I enjoyed this book from the very first line. Lorri and Ryder have a wonderful story and I was absorbed as this book came alive before my eyes! Thank you so much!!

What a wonderful story! Naigle has a terrific way with penning interesting and engaging characters and a heartwarming storyline. Reading one of her books is always a delight.

Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

I enjoyed the Wedding Ranch. All of the characters were great, and I loved the wedding ranch venue and the sweet romance between Lorri and Ryder.

I almost didn't read this novel after hearing the MC's husband gave her a dog after straying from their marriage. I am SO TIRED of reading that storyline, however I am glad that I stuck with it, because Ryder's story was just LOVELY. He was clearly my favorite, even if there was a female MC. He took over the show! I love the ranch setting, the slower life, and that both characters have their own aspects of baggage to deal with, and that they are there emotionally to support each other.

Love it! Well done!

If you love Virgin River this book is most definitely for you! I loved the small town vibes and I especially loved Lorrie and Ryder. Lorrie is moving on after her divorce and Ryder is just trying to survive after the tragic loss of his wife and son. These two are bought together by fate and quite frankly they deserve some happiness in their lives.

When Lorri’s husband leaves her for someone else, she moves and to Dalton Mill and her graphic design business takes off. Meanwhile, Ryder is haunted by the loss of his wife and son seven years earlier. But ranching keeps Ryder busy, as does spending time with his niece and nephew at their wedding venue, the Wedding Ranch. When these two people meet, love is the last thing either of them is looking for. But being together comes easily and makes them both happy. Until a secret from the past threatens to tear them apart.

This was such a sweet story of a second chance at love! The author wrote beautifully about overcoming grief and really tore at my heartstrings! At the same time, she put my heart back together. I don’t usually choose romances but this is one I am glad that I gave a chance too! The ranch atmosphere was fun also!

Thank you to Nancy Naigle, Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC! This book is out now and this review will be shared to my instagram blog (@books_by_the_bottle) shortly :)

3.5 ⭐️

Lori Walker feels hopeful that her husband is recommitting to their marriage when he gifts her a sweet mastiff puppy on Valentine’s Day after being unfaithful. Six months later, he’s out the door with plans to marry the puppy trainer. Anxious for a fresh start, Lori moves to the small town of Dalton where she meets grieving widower, Ryder Bolt. Neither one of them is searching for love, but spending time together eases their burdens and gives each one a new hope for the future. When a new revelation threatens to tear them apart, they must decide if past mistakes can truly be forgiven.

If you’re in the mood for something sweet and heartwarming, then this book is a must-read for you! I knew beforehand that this one would be a tad cheesy, but I didn’t mind too much. I absolutely adored Ryder and Lori and loved how their relationship had a solid foundation in friendship. It really added to the relationship’s authenticity! Both Ryder and Lori have experienced heartache and tragedy in their lives. The author handled this so gently and I loved seeing these characters heal together. The plot twist was easy to predict, but overall this was a very sweet and easy read! Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and the author for my gifted e-ARC! This book is out now.

Are you looking for a cute country romance with very, and I mean very little steam. Meet Lorrri, a new divorcee who decides to move to a new community and is excited to go to farmers markets, fairs and work from home (honestly just writing this it feels like such a hallmark setup). Our main man for this story is Ryder. He is very unhappy with the fact his family sold some of their farm land and allowed this new community to be build there.

These two do not have love at first sight. Honestly this is one of the slower burns I have read recently.

This book wasn’t it for me. There was not enough relationship building and it was just very slow moving.

After Lorri Walker’s husband leaves her and the mastiff puppy he gave her for the dog trainer, she decides to move to Dalton Mill. There, she meets Ryder Bolt, still grieving the loss of his wife and son seven years ago. His ranch keeps him busy, as well as helping his niece and nephew with The Wedding Ranch, the event venue they run. Can the pair find a second chance at love, or will issues from their past keep them apart?

I have loved the other Nancy Naigle books I have read, but this one missed the mark for me. I found it formulaic, and the big twist at the end was obvious from almost the beginning. I would recommend checking out one of her other books instead. Lisa Larsen did a nice job with the narration.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

Lori Walker is trying to rebuild her life after her husband left her and her new dog. Ryder Bolt is trying to rebuild his life after the tragic loss of his wife and son. They meet and the last thing that they are thinking about is love, yet they feel lighter and embrace their current lives. Can they survive what life throws at them?

I loved this novel! Such a good, wholesome second chance at love romance. Newly divorced with a giant mastiff puppy from her ex-husband, Lorri Walker moved to a new neighborhood to give herself a fresh start and much needed distance from her past. She finds this freedom to be incredible both for her business as a graphic design artist and in her personal life. Ryder, still destroyed over his loss r seven years prior is not looking for anything, yet when the new girl in Dalton Mills is nearly run over by a cow at the fair, he can’t stop thinking about her. And unfolds the story of these two, not looking for relationships, but finding themselves falling for each other even through some of the most unbelievable circumstances.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

A wonderful story of forgiveness and finding love again. Lorri is starting life over in Dalton Mill after a recent divorce with big cuddly dog, Mister. Ryder grew up here but had a tragic loss a few years back and just lives day to day. Lorri and Dalton strike up a friendship that seems to be perfect until they find out that their lives have collided in the past. Will they be able to forgive the past and move forward into the future?

Loved these characters in this sweet romance. Both very likable. Plus, everyone loves Mister. A story that you do not want to miss reading.

What an adorably sweet romance. I loved the small-town setting of the story and loved that the two main characters are both overcoming various types of grief and trying to find themselves again. I never saw the twist coming that connected Lorri and Ryder. It's overall a powerful story.

Also, as a Mastiff owner, any book that features a Mastiff in the story and on the cover will be an instant read for me. It's not a dog breed regularly featured and I loved it.

If you love a good clean small-town romance, definitely check out The Wedding Ranch!

Thank you, St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the eARC!

Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for e-ARC of the book.

Lorri and Ryder are two souls who experienced loss, betrayal and hardships of life. An unexpected situation brings them together but they aren’t ready to be something more than just friends.
This book takes us through hardships of life, importance of forgiveness and shows reasons to let the past go.
Nancy Naigle marvelously told the story, the dialogues were cute and vivd (couple if them made me smile).

This book reminds me of a wonderful Hallmark movie. The setting of the characters were fantastic. I can’t wait to read what is next from the author.

This was an enjoyable read, although very predictable. The author provided excellent descriptions of not just the characters, but the locations, venues and surroundings. For me, I could visualize the details. There were, however, some descriptions that seemed just a bit off, like the age of the twins. The way they were talked to and about, I'd have thought they were young children, but in fact they were young adults who ran the business, The Wedding Ranch. Regardless, I enjoyed this book and it held my interest to the last word!

Thank you Net Galley for the ARC.

I read about 50% of this book before I decided to give up. It’s not for me. I like cute Hallmark-y style books but this one has a lot of cheesiness, and I didn’t connect with one character. Lorri and Ryder lacked depth and I just couldn’t get into caring enough about them to finish.

Read this if you love the cheesiness of hallmark-style romance (again, I’m a fan of this once in a while), Christian romance, and country living.
