This is a fantastic how-to and DIY book using different types of rope and styles. The detailed instructions, along with the photos, helps you to learn the "ropes" on this craft. If you have ever wanted to try a new hobby, then this is a good place to start. Not only can these crafts be gifts, but they have a practical use around the house.
Definitely a good reference book to have on the shelf!

This is one of the best books I have seen regarding instructions to learning a craft skill. In this case using rope to create bags, containers, vessels and much more. The instructions are very comprehensive and they are illustrated with lots of photos. The projects are ones that are modern, and ones that one would like to use in the house or for shopping. The projects are not hard and within easy grasp to anyone who can follow instructions.

There are some great projects in this volume, but it is unlikely I will do any of them. The last thing I need is another craft hobby, with a list of materials needed.

I would highly suggest for anyone interested in this craft. I have seen many beautiful pieces made by friends.

A thorough and extensive look at the craft of zigzag rope projects. The author describes the type of rope to use, the thread,the fabric or dyes and the necessary sewing machine and sewing skills needed to create rope projects. She includes 10 projects with exacting instructions and step-by-step photographs to illustrate each process. The book will definitely provide you with the information needed to accomplish this craft. It is perfect for the beginner and a great reference for those continuing to create their own projects. The author has her own shop where she teaches the craft and sells rope and other supplies.

The projects look interesting and, for the most part, the end results don't have that "look I made this but I wouldn't have bought it" feel. The directions are clear with tips sprinkled throughout. I was unable to attempt any of the crafts as they require a sewing machine which I do not own.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. Such a good craft book! The author does a great job with diy descriptions. I can't wait to try some of these projects.

This is a fun craft book with lots of projects for making objects like coasters, baskets and bags by sewing rope. I had hoped that some would be hand stitched but you need a sewing machine that can sew through heavy materials like layered rope for all of the projects. They seem easy to do and there are great tutorials for each. I especially loved the dip dyed and fabric wound projects. A fun and informative book.

This is a cool book, and I am so glad Netgalley, the author, and the publisher allowed me to read and review. Who knew that you could easily sew such amazing products with rope. This book had all the step-by-step instructions, along with photos, of many fun projects to try. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend for those seeking to learn about rope sewing, or even those like me who had no idea this craft existed and want to expand their creativity.

This craft is well-described and feels very do-able. I can’t wait to get started! It requires only a basic home sewing machine and a few notions, plus a rope of your choice with the preferences outlined clearly in the book. The photos are very helpful and I feel confident about trying any of the projects listed. Thank you to the publisher for providing this advanced copy.

I am so happy I got this book. 40 years ago I made yarn wrapped baskets and I hand stitched them. I also recently made rainbows and also stitched by hand. This is a game changer and I can't wait to try out many of Katherine Lile's projects.

The book has so many pictures giving step by step instructions. I can't wait dig out my supplies and sewing machine and get crafting.

This title answered questions I didn't know I had! The pictures were well composed and the information invaluable to anyone ready to tackle rope sewing. An excellent resource!

Carantine time is perfect to hone our new skill. When I pick this book I am so excite to learn rope art to make useful things we can actually use daily.
And this book is deliver well, all materials and technics all clear. And the author so generous provide this one with many projects with each got step by step to make it. Can't wait to try make some from it.

A new craft (for me), this book provides detailed information about creating all kinds of treasures with rope. I love the ideas and the pictures are fantastic. The only criticism is that the project instructions are a bit redundant in that most of the techniques re: the basic sewing instructions are included in the beginning of the book. Thank you for this advance copy of your book

What a great book! Lots of pictures, easy explanations, and fun projects! I think even a very beginner sewer could follow the instructions and patterns.

I'm a very, very beginner with the sewing machine, and really felt that I could do these projects. I really enjoyed this, and would recommend it, no matter what your sewing ability!

This was such a fun book to look through. There are so many projects and Katherine Lile gives detailed instructions on how to make each one! I am really looking forward to trying a few to see if I can actually do it!!

Katherine Lile's book on zigzag rope projects is a great starting point for people who want to learn how to create those cute little rope baskets we see at the store. I enjoyed that she went step by step through all of the things you will need to be successful in making these projects. She explains why you need each time of rope, how to work with your sewing machine to make these projects, and how to use fabric dye.
She has several different tips to help with making the projects correctly, like using a book to keep the rope coils flat. I appreciated she spent a lot of time discussing things like tension on your sewing machine, how to correct problems when you have gaps, and how to add rope if you miscalculate the amount you needed and need to add a transition strip.
This book is definitely something I would give to a friend who likes working with their sewing machine to make different type of projects other than just sewing.

I loved this book! I am a weaver and I would say this book is weaving-adjacent. I loved the guide about ropes and which ones to use and why.

The only thing I didn’t like was that a sewing machine that has a a zig zag stitch was required. I have old, very powerful machine but it doesn’t zig or zag. I wasn’t expecting the book to be so sewing machine dependent.

This is an entertaining book to read, I enjoyed seeing each rope project from start to finish. There’s so much you can do! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a gifted copy.

A nifty book that would be a great gift for your friends who own sewing machines! Could probably be done by hand too but would be much faster and easier with a sewing machine. This book includes instructions on trouble shooting and machine stitching tips. The designs and projects are tempting me to borrow my mom's sewing machine!

For someone like me who's always looking for easy-to-do crafts, simple and minimal creativity this guidebook is the one!
