Like with their previous book What If Love Is The Point?, I just first want to thank Carlos and Alexa for the opportunity of being able to read an advanced copy.

This book is so adorable, and the illustrations were so cute! The story follows the PenaVegas older two kids, Ocean and Kingston, as they set out on an adventure on the beach to find a special treasure for their mom’s birthday. This book is adventure-packed and educational, covering the topic of island life, and I loved that they included fun facts and pronunciations for the Hawaiian words. I like how this book centers around kids who spend their time exploring nature, rather than on screens, and essentially shows kids that they can still have fun while exploring the wildlife around them. Furthermore, this book focuses on family, as shown with the boys wanting to find their mom’s favorite shell for her birthday, and Ocean being a caring big brother to Kingston.

This is the perfect book for anyone who knows a curious kid in their life, especially if the kid may be interested in marine biology (of course, no one’s stopping you from buying the book for yourself).

What a cute story! Such heartwarming family interaction between Ocean and Kingston. They go on an adventure to find the perfect gift for their mom's birthday. I really like the use of Hawaiian words with pronunciation keys and also facts about what they see and discover. I really enjoyed this book and I know my daughter will love it as well! Love the Penavega family and can't wait to see what they have in store next!

We all love adventures, especially ones with lots of new things to learn! In their first children’s book, Ocean’s World, Carlos and Alexa PenaVega bring Hawaii to life in an epic tale of their sons, Ocean and Kingston’s, expedition to find a sunrise shell for Alexa’s birthday.

Kids everywhere will drag their parents to the beach after reading this book! Full of fascinating fun facts, stunning illustrations, and an endearing story of the boys’ teamwork to do something special for their mom, Ocean’s World will undoubtedly be the new favorite bedtime story!

*Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with a pre-release copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own*

I read this book with my soon to be 6 year old daughter. She loved it! Her review was the “fun facts” were cool. She liked the animation and pointed out sea animals she had seen at the aquarium. An easy read that kept my daughter with a small attention span intrigued. Not too long of a book, perfect for the 4-7 age range.

After reading, reviewing, and loving Alexa & Carlos PenaVega's first book "What if Love is the Point?" I was so excited to read their first children's book! And it did not disappoint! I love all of the fun facts and Hawaiian words throughout the book! They are such fun little tidbits and educational for kids into Hawaii life. I'm a huge lover of ocean/marine animals and so this book was right up my alley. I even learned about some shells I didn't know existed. Such a fun and cute read. The illustrations are so colorful and creative! Perfect for kids.

This was so precious. I loved their little adventure and also loved how they shed Hawaiian words. It was also neat to learn about the different shells there and the volcano. I can tell many kids would enjoy This book.

I highly recommend Ocean's World as a wonderful family book. It provides the opportunity for children to go on an adventure alongside Ocean and Kingston as they travel to find the special birthday gift for mom, her favorite type of shell. Not only would it keep a child's attention, but it would also teach them Hawaiian words and several important facts about the ocean and its surroundings. It is relatable for a child. A wonderful bedtime story for families to share in together.

I was provided an advanced reader's copy of this book and am a fan of Carlos and Alexa.

This was a really cute book! The illustration and idea were well done.

My only problem is there lacked a clear lesson and the "fun facts" took you out of the story line slightly.

Overall, it was enjoyable and I think kids reading it will love the colours and story line of these two boys who are going on an adventure.

Ocean’s World is about a search in Hawaii for a shell for there mom for her birthday. The illustrations are beautiful of the search for the shell. The dolphins, the 🦀 crabs, the fish. I loved the adventure. I would love to read the book to my granddaughter.

The cutest little kids story. I even learned some new things. I love the fun facts throughout the story and the story itself; of two brothers creating memories together. But, not just memories doing something special for someone they love. The fun facts are great starters to engage any child in wanting to learn more. What a wonderful children's story. I recommend this for any age and classroom.

This is a sweet picture book by Carlos and Alexa PenaVega about two boys on an adventure to find a sea shell for their mother's birthday. The illustrations are wonderful and I loved the addition of Hawaiian words (and their pronunciations) throughout the book.

Despite, at times, being somewhat silly — what with the main character’s name and the rather shocking amount of time these two young boys spend quite unsupervised as they partake in dangerous activities, this was a pretty wonderful book overall. The story is a cute one that takes you through various locales in Hawaii as the boys search for their mother’s favorite seashell for her birthday.

The adventures and illustrations are engaging and they both provide ample learning opportunities for the elder brother to teach the younger. But more than that, it offers the opportunity to impart that knowledge on young readers.

Admittedly, if the learning aspect had been absent (I especially loved the fun facts!), this book probably wouldn’t have hit quite as well. Fortunately, authors Carlos and Alexa PenaVega mixed together a beautiful and educational tale, no doubt inspired by their own little ones.

My five-year-old had no trouble reading the book. He had a great time meeting the boys Kingston and Ocean. He liked the pictures in the book and how they matched the story's narrative. He laughed as the boys explored to find the shell because their adventure and the creatures they met were entertaining. As a parent, I really enjoyed sharing this book because it contains a lot of great facts for young children and explains exploring and caring for others in a fun way. It was wonderful to see all of the different discoveries and closeness and friendship of the young children in this book. Younger readers should read this.
