This book certainly kept me guessing, a true showing of the tangled webs we weave. I really enjoyed the twists, the surprises that kept popping up!

This was a super quick read, I would say a 3.5 star read for me. I think part of the ending was a surprise to me but some parts were a bit underwhelming. I did like the alternating timelines and POV though. I felt like that definitely added to the story!

I enjoyed this quick read while I was reading it but have been surprised to find it very forgettable. The relationship between Amanda and Max is believable, but Pippa‘s easy willingness to be misled by her untrustworthy husband despite his troubled history is a pretty unsteady pillar to build the suspense on.

If you like twisty domestic stories like BIG LITTLE LIES, then THE SOULMATE is 100% worth the read! On the surface, Pippa and Gabe live a picture-perfect life with their two daughters in their cottage by the sea.
However, their picturesque home is located by a cliff where people go to end their lives. Gabe is normally skiled at talking them down, until one night, a woman jumps, leaving Pippa to suspect that Gabe was somehow involved. The format of this was soooo good! The novel begins with the death, and then uses dual POVs and flashbacks to unravel secrets and twists that allow the reader to piece together the truth.
The twists come fast and furious, and while they collectively might seem a tad over the top, they worked well! Pippa and Gabe are both morally grey characters, which I loved. Their actions were often equal parts despicable and understandable, and their characterization added to the suspense. I probably wouldn't classify this one as a true thriller, but it's certainly twisty and suspenseful. If you're looking for a super quick domestic suspense story, then I'd recommend this one. I read it in just two sittings, and thought the short chapters and dual POV structure made it a true page-turner.

I found this book intriguing, but the final surprises/reveals were just very anti-climatic. I feel like there was not nearly enough action...very slow-building.

I enjoyed this book overall. I didn't find it to be much of a thriller or mystery but I wanted to keep reading to see what happened. It wasn't my favorite book by Sally Hepworth but I did like it.

In this domestic thriller, a family moves to an oceanside home, thinking they will create an idyllic life there for themselves. As it turns out, though, the cliff outside their home is a well-known location for suicide attempts. The husband, Gabe, has already talked seven people off the ledge by the time an unexpected visitor from their past appears at the cliff.

Watching the events unfold through the window, Pippa can’t quite tell if the victim jumps or if Gabe is somehow involved in her death.

This one is full of twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages. It’s dual POV and dual timeline / told through flashbacks. I was eager to see how everything would unfold.

Why is this one not 5 stars for me? I have some qualms about how mental health was discussed and addressed in the novel.

I received an advance copy of the ebook from St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.

Not my favorite of her books. It dragged a bit in the middle. 3 stars. Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the arc.

This was definitely not my favorite of Hepworth's books. Pippa drove me crazy with the blinders she had for everything Gabe did. The reveal and see ending just left me feeling meh about the whole thing.

Appreciate Sally Hepworth as my modern go-to author for plot-driven novels. Her characters are always compelling and stories interesting. No book by Hepworth will disappoint.

I really enjoyed the plot of this book being the Gerard’s house on the cliff known for suicide. The overall speed of the book was a bit of a slow burn for me but it was worth it in the end to get to the twists. The twists in the book were really good and surprising!

I loved this book! It's well-written, enjoyable, and a great read. Sally Hepworth did a great job of writing in a way that captures the readers attention, and makes you not want to put it down until you're finished! I love all the books Hepworth writes, and will continue to read anything she publishes! I would highly recommend it!

When you get your hands on a copy of Sally Hepworths upcoming release which also happens to be one of the anticipated reads of 2023 ... its a great day!
Sally, is amazing as always. Amazing plot twists!
I am a HUGE fan of alternating chapters between characters and the way this was done was EXCELLENT! I was completely engaged in this story and did not see that ending coming.

I really struggled with this book. It seemed to move incredibly slow for me. I absolutely loved the book The Good Sister and could not put it down but this one was not a hit for me. The book left me frustrated and took me longer than normal to read because it didn't keep my attention.

4/5 stars. Super fast paced domestic thriller that surprised me in the end. This was only my second Sally Hepworth book but I will definitely read more of her work and I enjoyed both.

A wonderfully written thriller story with a mystery, Gabe and Pippa move into their dream home. What they discover about the area’s past makes them feel uneasy. The area they move to has an eerie past. Someone in Gabe’s life falls victim to the cliffs. Gabe and Pippa are well written characters. The plot and the twists are exciting. An edge of your seat thriller.

Messy. Messy. Messy. This book was messy and in the best way possible. I spent the entire book asking myself "Did he do it?" then answering myself "Yes! Of course he pushed her off the cliff!" then changing it "No way he did it. She was distraught!" In the end I felt like we got good answers with the twists and turns of this book. I was genuinely surprised by the ending, like I thought I had it figured out and then BAM!!!! I was wrong. So well written, the plot perfection but not in a super creepy I'm not going to sleep tonight kinda way. Loved it!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A slow burn mystery told from multiple points of view!
This was like reading a jigsaw puzzle, but instead of receiving all the pieces at once you are slowly given one at a time, only to have the full picture revealed to you at the end.
A fun read that kept you guessing until the very end!

The Soulmate was an interesting book, with a lot of twist and turn. I was definitely guessing right until the end what was going to happen next. A fun quick read, perfect for the beach!!

This was my first Sally Hepworth book and I am happy to say that this book was a page turner for me with quite a twist at the end. The characters in this book were so well developed that you were able to feel in character.

A young couple with two young girls move into a cliffside home to start a new chapter in their lives. Their cliff side home is known to have "jumpers" who are looking to end their lives. Gabe has a track record of being able to intervene and save lives until one woman comes through and suddenly jumps from the cliff and Gabe is caught with his arms pushed out. Did Gabe push the woman or did she suddenly fall?

What then unravels is a twisty story of family drama and I was there for every page!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
