Scare Your Soul is blueprint for courageous living and taking your life to the next level. Scott writes in practical ways to think and to act to live more courageously. I enjoyed hearing his own life stories of how he has gotten past his fears and like that this book functions as a workbook/journal for the reader to write in their thoughts and complete exercises that will help them dig deep to understand how to get unstuck and gain clarity on what we truly want.
Scott talks about learning to live in that space of uncertainty and get comfortable with these 3 questions when we are wanting to change...1)What if I don't know what comes next? 2) What if I do something wrong? 3)What if change brings something I don't want? I also found Scott's "Wheel of Fear" explanation and drawing to be extremely helpful in breaking down fear itself into less scary components, which make it manageable and and understandable that we all face fear of failure, fear of loss, fear of change, fear of the unknown, fear of success, fear of rejection, and fear of not being good enough...just seeing that list makes me more courageous because I can not be swayed from my path when I am experiencing one of those fears. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to live their dream life but is scared to do so. Isn't that all of us?

A step by step guide for helping anyone improve their lives, becoming happier, healthier, more courageous and grounded. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. Disclosure - I know the author slightly from our time 20 years ago in a “young professionals” organization.

I was very impressed with Scott’s honesty and candid, heartfelt personal stories. I did not do the exercises he prescribed (yet!?) but I did take a brief cold shower and went for a walk at his suggestion when I didn’t want to!

Definitely recommend for anyone looking to jumpstart their life.
