There is a lot of repetition in this book. I couldn’t find myself to really enjoy any of the characters. There were kinda two stories in one and they didn’t mesh well. It is an overall decent book.

I think at one point in time all of us, as adults, want to run away.

This is the dilemma that Charlie faces, he has worked to keep his wife in a lifestyle that she wants, not necessarily what he wants, he works for a boss that makes him feel inferior.

When his car goes off the road and he survives which is a miracle, he stumbles upon Aude and as she nurses him back to health they develop a bond and he is faced with a dilemma of returning to his current life or just disappearing

I do enjoy Danielle Steel books, they are quick reads, and stories that hold my interest.

Thank you NewGalley and the publisher for letting me read this copy in advance.

I have read a couple of Danielle Steel books that I thought were great. This one however was not. It was a good book but the story had no greatness to it. The story was good but it wasn't anything special.

Feeling stuck in a stressful job and a loveless marriage, Charlie Vincent's life feels stagnate until turning upside down after a car crash. Embracing the idea to vanish without a trace, Charlie realizes that love not money matters. Readers will fall in love with the reverse rags to riches story.

Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition of #WithoutTrace in exchange for an honest review. I'm a Danielle Steel Fan and this novel was different than her romantic reads. In a world where money tends to dictate happiness, only by losing his prestige and name, does Charlie realize what's important.

Get ready for some surprising moments along the way including a high-speed chase near the end. Will Charlie give up his former life forever or will the ties that bond, lead him home?

I’m not sure how she continues to do it but another great read by Danielle Steel. Would we all love a chance to start over? Charles decides to find out after crashing his car. Lots of suspense and romance.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Ballantine for allowing me to read this book and give my honest opinion. This book started off with such promise and floundered. Starts off with Charles Vincent. He is a successful CEO for a toy company (with a difficult owner) and he leaves late at night to go up to the chateau that he bought for his wife (who is a petulant child) and ends up going off the cliff. Somehow he survives and he ends up walking up the cliff and then happens upon Aude (an artist who seems like she is a starving artist but she does ok). They fall madly in love and Aude talks him into going back to his old life when his ex wife declares him dead. It was just odd.

Being a huge Danielle Steel fan, I have to say that this is unlike any of her other books I have read. I think that Ms, Steel has stepped out of her comfort zone here and written in a new genre that I sort of like. Of course there is still romance, her strong point, but this storyline is definitely a different touch from Danielle Steel.

Charles has had a rough time in the past with loosing his job because of something that he stood for. When he lost his job, his wife and kids all went through a rough patch. When his wife tells him he better find a job or she is going to leave, Charles lands a job as a CEO of a plastics company. Ever since he started this job he has not bee happy, but feels like he is stuck in order to be able to provide for the lavish parties his wife likes to throw.

When Charles has to work late one night, he is headed to the chateau that he bought his wife to have to throw the parties in when he falls asleep at the wheel.. Things have been strained for him and his wife since right after they had their two kids and Charles is unhappy in his marriage as well as his job. The first thoughts that go through his mind is to just give up and let the water that his car plunges into overtake him and end his suffering. From somewhere deep within, Charles finds a way to get himself out of the water and up the cliff that his car went off.

Charles is battered and exhausted when he turns up on the doorstep of Aude. Aude nurses his wounds and gives him a place to sleep. When things take a crazy turn for Charles and Aude, he has to decide what he is going to do about his old life. Will he just skip out on it or will he go back and make amends with everyone and do things the right way? And what about Aude, where will they stand when Charles figures out what he wants with his life now after surviving the horrific wreck?

This is a great read with lots of twists and turns that will have you wondering what will happen with decisions that are made. I think this is a great break from the reads that we have been getting from Danielle Steel.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book to read.

When Charles Vincent was in his early twenties, he married Isabelle, a fellow student and looked forward to a happy, settled life. Now, years later, life is not what he expected. His principles caused him to lose his career in publshing and nearly his marriage because he could not provide for Isabelle and their two children in the lavish way she expected. For the last thirteen years, he’s been the CEO of a toy and plastics conglomerate but he’s far from happy. His job is frustrating, his children are grown and living far away and Isabelle is…well, Isabelle.

So late one dark night, as he drives on a treacherous, twisting road on the Normandy Coast on his way to the family château, he falls asleep. His car crashes off the road, down a cliff and into the water. He survives, barely, and drags himself off the rocks to the highway. As he staggers to the nearest town, he sees the light of a secluded cabin. There he meets artist Aude Saint-Martin and there he finds the happiness that has eluded him for so long. There’s one problem and it’s a big one. He’s married and has a life elsewhere. He doesn’t go back. What happens next changes his life and that of his lover in ways they cannot imagine.

Without a Trace is not dripping with the glamour usually found in Danielle Steel’s novels. Instead it charms the reader with the story of two people who prefer a simple, unadorned life as long as they can be together. 5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and Danielle Steel for this ARC.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy of this book. This Danielle Steel book was just ok. The storyline was a bit depressing and boring, as well as the characters.

Great book! I absolutely loved this one too. It was romantic and suspenseful. This book is about someone in particular that got tired of life This book I would definitely recommend it to everyone. I wish she would come out with a book every month, because I definitely would read them.

Totally loved this book! Due to an accident, Charles has the chance to revamp his life with a woman other than his cold, unloving wife, and he takes it. I can understand his mindset. I think we have all wanted to check out of our life at one point or another. I will definitely recommend this book and am impatiently waiting for the next book!
Thank you Danielle Steel, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

Charles Vincent has a hectic life and one day has an accident and is presumed dead. Can he leave his old life behind and just disappear? It’s. Much more complicated than it seems. Only Danielle steel can tell a riveting story like this. A must read.

Charles Vincent seems to have it a
Charles Vincent seems to have it all—a beautiful wife, two successful children, and a well-paying career. Yet happiness remains out of reach. He is trapped in a loveless marriage and his job is simply a paycheck. But his life changes forever one night as he drives along the Normandy coast, heading to their lavish château for the weekend. In one terrifying moment, Charles falls asleep at the wheel and veers off the road, plunging thirty feet down the face of a rocky cliff. Miraculously, Charles survives. After gathering the courage to climb to safety, he starts to walk—bruised, bloody, and desperate for help. In the dark of night, he happens upon a cabin where he meets the kind and beautiful Aude Saint-Martin. They have an instant connection, and as she nurses him back to health, Charles begins to discover the passion he’s been missing for so many years. In the aftermath of the crash, Charles has a startling realization: He doesn’t have to go back. He could simply choose to disappear, to walk away from his old life. When his car is discovered, he’ll be presumed dead, washed away at sea. If he stays with Aude, he has a chance at a fuller, happier life that he didn’t know was possible. It all seems too good to resist. But Aude has secrets of her own, and before long their pasts catch up to them, threatening everything they have fought to build. What would happen if you were given a chance to walk away from everything in your life and start over with a blank slate, and you had a split second to decide?
It was a fun read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for giving me an advance copy.

Have you ever wished that you could just walk away from everything and start all over again? Such is the thought process of Charlie Vincent. Bless his heart. He feels like a gerbil on a wheel, constantly running but not getting anywhere. Then one day, the unexpected happens: a car crash. All of a sudden, there are options that weren’t there before, and Charlie begins to look at life in a totally different way. He realizes that money doesn’t necessarily buy happiness and that love is a wonderful thing to have. However, as you know, ‘happily ever after’ can sometimes come with a few snafus, and that is what happens here. Join Charlie on his journey to happiness. This is not Ms Steel’s typical storyline. Some would even call it a bit dark, but I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this foray intothe darkness. So glad that I didn’t have to wait to enjoy this book. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

What are your priorities in life? Do your action show what your priorities are? I ask that question lot to myself and to my students. Charlie finds himself pondering that very thing in Danielle steel’s latest triumph “Without a Trace.” After a serious car accident, Charlie has to make a literal life-or-death decision. Should I fight to live or let go and die? It comes down to his answer to the original question , do my actions match my priorities?

This is an entertain8g book and a quick read. But it also makes us do some introspection. Do are action match what we value? And what happens when they don’t?

I received a free ARC of this galley from #NetGalley but the opinions are my own.
