This is a story of a cockroach that comes to school in a young boy’s backpack. He moves through the school day and causes quite a stir. There are some funny events in this book and I enjoyed the illustrations. I would recommend this book to students with a good sense of humor. I thought it was average.

A cute enough story. It encourages visual interpretation skills. The plot is silly and relies on a bit of gross-out humor but it has valuable. The humor is, of course, in the mismatch between the narration and illustration, so it may not appeal to preschoolers but elementary aged kids will enjoy it.

I love this book, but have a great issue with it. Why in the world would you use cockroaches? I would never want someone to think my house has roaches in it, and not just one, several! It would have been just as funny with a pet gerbil, because to some people, they can be looked at as just pet rats. The book was very, very cute, and I did love it, but the entire time I was grossed out in a bad way, knew I would not want to read it to my kids, and wished they had used something like a gerbil. Heck, even use a pet mouse!

This is a silly picture book about a family of bugs who hitch a ride in a boy’s backpack to go to school. The bug perspective is that everyone is happy that they have big guests in the classroom. Of course that’s not actually true which is where the fun comes into the story. Students will find this humorous while they learn about perspective and differing points of view. All in all, this is a fun little story to add to the classroom library!

Super cute children's book. The bugs stow away with a student to attend school for show and tell and much silliness ensues. Children would love this books because the story and situations will make the giggle and laugh as I am sure they could imagine if such things happened in their own school.

Delightful illustrations with many details for children to ponder.

While this was certainly a creative way to make a back to school picture book, I didn't think it stood out among the hoards that are published every year. It wasn't bad by any means, but there were a lot better this year. I look at picture books through the lens of what I can read for storytimes, and I just wouldn't consider this a top contender.

This is a funny book with creative illustrations. This story with a twist is a great story for boys and elementary age especially. It has all the activities you remember from elementary school this interesting student gets to try them. I haven't read the first book, but I am eager to after reading this one. It is a cute idea that young readers will enjoy, but it is youthful humor that is for sure. Some might find it a little gross, but some funny moments too. It is cute to see cockroaches excited about school.

This sequel to Your Birthday was the BEST! lacks the charm of the first book. The storyline for Your School Is the Best! was middling and the conclusion, while potty-humored cute, could've been more impactful.

This was an overall cute and short book. I can definitely see where it might appeal to some kids, but I found it lack something to make it really stand out.

This book is pure fun! The dissonance between the art and the text creates such great humour in this tale of differing perspectives. When a boy goes to school for show and tell, his cockroach "buddies" decide to tag along, leading to all sorts of delightful mayhem. Children will have lots of fun laughing at the cockroaches and their charming antics.

This series is so silly. The sheer fact that these poor bugs have no idea that they absolutely terrify the people that they're around is funny as it is, but they also go through these extra acrobatics that make the storyline even funnier. I love it.

I really enjoyed Your Birthday was the Best and was stoked to hear about this book. The story is told in the perspective of the cockroach, who is excited to experience all the fun and activities that come with a school day. The students and teachers discover the family of cockroaches, who misreads their shock and cries as happy and proud ones. This will be a hilarious and fun read for school age children.

When requested for this book, I thought it will be something like school for cockroaches. But bringing cockroaches to your class accidentally was not fun. But from the roaches' view .... it's hilarious!!! A must read for those who doesn't fear the animal.

A funny little children’s book about a pet cockroach that finds its way into its owners school and the reactions this causes. I love the illustration style and I think this would be a short, funny read for any child, especially those at school who could imagine this happening.

This book is hilarious, I immediately shared it with other near me. They needed to know what made me laugh. As a teacher and a Canadian fearful of climate change for the insects it will introduce this story depicts one of my greatest fears but it’s too funny not to love. The story is wonderful and the illustrations are charming and really depict the hilarity described.
