Sheriff Sunshine lives in a small town. Everybody knows everybody and they are all in each other's business. When a crime happens she is questioned by the whole town. She is in love with a good looking guy. She has a teenager that is inquisitive about her mother's cases.
There was a lot of parts that made me laugh out loud.

A Hard Day for a Hangover is the third, and final, instalment of the Sunshine Vicram trilogy by Darynda Jones. Some people greet the day with open arms. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now. There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it. There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator. And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years. The guy who might just be her one and only. The guy who comes from a family of disingenuous vipers looking to oust him—and Sunshine—for good.

A Hard Day for a Hangover is a solid wrap up to this trilogy. I still love the crazy cast of characters and the development they have in the story. Even the secondary and less vital characters and moments added value and interest to the larger story. I like that we get multiple points of view, and that the sardonic humor that I have come to expect from the author continues to be in full effect. I will say that I saw one part of this puzzle coming a mile away, and had moments when I just wanted to scream the answer at the characters, but they all got there in the end. I felt like all the loose ends were tied up nicely, and the story was engaging throughout. I think this is a must read for those that have read the two previous books, as they will not be disappointed. I look forward to seeing what Jones has in store for readers next.

OMG! If it's not one thing it's another with Sheriff Sunshine Vicram and the town of Del Sol, New Mexico. A flasher, home break-in, prison break, raccoon on the loose in the police station, and the more serious assault victim. But Sunshine and her team are on it, and if you're look for a mystery with laughs, this is the book for you. I've enjoyed this series immensely & hope it continues.

Author Darynda Jones has brought a whole lot of action, romance, and laughs to her Sunshine Vicram adventures. And with the third book, A Hard Day for a Hangover, she wraps up the trilogy with the kind of action-packed chaos that she does so well.

Sheriff Sunshine Vicram has a terrible hangover. She knew better but that certainly did not stop her. As she is struggling through her morning, she has been alerted to a possible dead body of a young girl. This leads her to discover quite a few young ladies missing from her area.

I adore this series! Now, this is not my favorite book out of the 3. I felt it was a tad bit too long. But it is still delicious! It is a perfect ending. I found myself laughing out loud (as I always do in these books!) and, once again, loving Sunshine! I will surely miss this character! I hope the author uses her as a cameo in some of her future books.

Sunshine has some of the best one liners and quips. She is also very intelligent and it is very difficult to pull one over in her. But don’t worry…her daughter does!

This whole series is one enjoyable set of mysteries. The characters and their interactions will keep you guessing and keep you laughing!

Need a fabulously funny and just an all around good book…AND SERIES…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today!

I have enjoyed each of the books in this series. However, I believe this book was the best yet! I suspect it was the final one in this series - making it a trilogy. If that's the case, then it was a wonderful one to finish up with. Of course, if Ms. Jones decided to write another one to carry on the storyline, I'd read it just to see what else these characters have to say.

This series its fun, snarky and chock full of mystery with a touch of romance to balance it all out. It's the perfect combination and exactly what I need sometimes.

Sunshine is the sheriff of a small town in New Mexico, the mother of a teenage daughter and a woman carrying an unrequited love for a man named Levi. Sounds pretty basic, right? Nope. There is so much more blended into this storyline that complicates everything.

The author always does a nice job of balancing multiple storylines at the same time. You have a mystery that Sunshine (the sheriff) is trying to solve. Yet you also have personal storylines entwined with it. Everything just seems to flow easily and keeps the reader involved.

AUDIOBOOK: In addition, I also listened to the audiobook and it was superb. I love the way the narration is done and it makes the characters in this series really come to life for me. 5 stars

This series just keeps getting better - I really enjoyed this novel and it took me straight out of a reading slump too. Ms Jones is brilliant at writing these snarky women who are very relatable and just fun - you want to be Sunny’s friend!

I heard this may be a triology but I genuinely hope for more of this crew - I feel like I am just getting to know them and there’s so much more to learn! Not every author can deliver on book after book in a series but Ms. Jones really does - each one so far has been better than the previous.

I enjoy this series so much! It's fun and witty and just an all around good time. Sunshine continues to find herself (and Auri) in precarious situations. I love that Auri is so determined to do things despite her mom telling her to stand down. There is a lot going on with Levi, but I was here for every minute of it. Highly recommend this series if you need some fun and laughs.

Sheriff Sunshine Vicram is not living her best life right now. Women are going missing, and during the investigation, she discovers that this has been happening longer than anyone other than the perpetrator(s) knew. In short, there probably has been at least one serial killer operating in Pike and no one knew about it. Her daughter wants to investigate and it couldn't be a worse time to have a young girl asking questions around town. One thing that makes this book stand out is the mixture of comedy alongside the very serious, scary scenes where the women realized they were in danger.

Read this book for the town and the whacky characters, as well as for the mystery. This is the third and final book in this series. although I am hoping for a spinoff. I had not read either of the first two books, but had no trouble in following this story. For romance, Sunshine has a long time, on and off romance that finally looks like it might be going somewhere. There is also a related surprise, which I won't give away. I liked this book so much that I bought the first book before I finished it.

Del Sol Sheriff Sunshine Vicram has a serious problem on her hands. Women are turning up injured or missing and she needs to find out what’s going on before the situation escalates. Then there’s her precocious daughter Auri who has decided to follow in her mom’s footsteps and be a detective. Except she’s only 15. And trouble follows her like a bad penny. As if that weren’t enough to make anyone pull the covers over their head and stay in bed until the end of time, there’s the man who she has loved nearly her entire life, Levi Ravinder. What is she going to do about him and the whole family mess he’s at the center of? So many threads to tie up, not enough hours in the day to do it.

I love this series so much. I heard it was only a trilogy and that’s disappointing, but I get it. The main arc is pretty much wrapped up in 3 books, so where else could it go? I just don’t want to leave the characters behind. LOL This book, as the ones that came before, is full of action, suspense, mystery, and humor with some romance thrown in. The characters are wonderful, the writing awesome, and the plot carries them all like a champ. Highly entertaining. I can’t recommend it enough.

This was such a fun book and did not want to put it down. I loved all the different aspects to this book.. love, family humor and a mystery. I had no idea this was a series until after I finished the book, but felt like I wasn't missing anything so you could definitely read this as a standalone. I found this one to be SO fun! I will definitely be reading the first two books in this series and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and @stmartinspress for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love this series. You will always laugh out loud reading this series and this book is no different. A lot is happening in this book both professionally and personally for Sunshine. If you love the two book in this series you will be happy with this book also. The book moves quickly and you won't want to put it down when you start reading it. You will laugh and fall in love with all the people in this series again. I hope this series isn't over with this book as I look forward to each book that comes out.

This book is the final installment in a three book series and I’m sad it’s over. I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time getting to know the town of Del Sol and all its wonderful cast of characters!

These are set in the fictional town of Del Sol, New Mexico. Each book has its own mystery going on but really, that was so secondary for me. For me, these books are all about the relationships evolving, truths being revealed to characters and funny scenes and quips. Just cute, clever, and sometimes heavy stuff going on. Sheriff Sunshine Vicram and her crazy-smart daughter Auri will completely win you over.

This one has great quotes at the beginning of each chapter, too. ☺️

If you like police procedurals or detective mysteries, this might be a series for you. 👍🏻

All the witty banter, crazy antics, and unwavering love binding all these characters made for a book that I just couldn’t put down.

Sheriff Sunshine’s day started with the discovery of a barely-alive young woman on a cliff. As more disappearances come to light, Sun has to juggle the case and her daughter’s increasing meddling, as well as her feelings for Levi and the potential disaster facing his family.

In this book, Auri plays a much bigger role. She is still sticking her nose in places that she should’ve left alone, but you cannot help but admire her tenaciousness, loyalty, and intelligence. Sunshine and Auri, together with Sun’s parents, have an unbreakable family bond. Some very tough issues make an appearance, and it all flows very well with the overall humorous tone of the book.

I had a lot of fun reading A Hard Day for a Hangover. I soaked up the Sun/Levi moments like a little sponge and wished there were more of them. The mystery of the missing women kept me glued to the pages.

I can recommend this series of you like suspense, romance, and heaps of sarcasm. It is best to read them in order.

It may be A Hard Day For a Hangover, but it's a good day to read this book! Sunshine Vicram, sheriff of tiny Del Sol, and company are back for their biggest snafu yet! The hilarity continues, the steam is hotter than the desert climate, and the DANGER, the drama? Over the top outrageously good. 5 big spangly stars! The final installment in the Sunshine Vicram series was amusing but not quite a strong as the previous two books in the trilogy. There are few reasons why, for me, this is the case.

1. The whole trilogy takes place within a very short time, mere months I think. The characters still bear bruises from the events in book two. Yet, it feels like some aspects of the story should be further developed given we're 600 or so pages into the story.

2. Sunshine's love interest Levi, AKA the dark lord with a heart of gold, was not so much sexy and mysterious as secretive, annoying, and childish. The bad boy who isn't really a bad boy thing just didn't work in this one, and he came across as needlessly noncommunicative, and he repeatedly undermined Sunshine's role as sheriff. Auri, Sunshine's daughter also went over the top in her repeated attempts to solve the case.

3. That brings me to the case. Maybe this was just one of those mysteries where the reveal wasn't supposed to be a big twist. I hope so because it was fairly obvious from early in the novel who was injuring and killing victims.

4. It got real cheesy in many ways.

I am glad to have read this one, but it didn't allow me to suspend belief as much as the previous books.

This is the third in the Sunshine Vicram series, and I freakin' love them all.

Set in a small town in New Mexico, Sunshine is the sheriff. For such a small town, they sure have a lot of murders. While there are sometimes some pretty gruesome things that happen in these books, they are also completely hilarious. Plus, they always give me that cozy feeling and I never want them to end.

In this installment, there seems to be someone attacking young women and throwing them over the edge of a cliff alongside a particular stretch of road. It's not just Sunshine and her team that are trying to solve this case though, Sunshine's daughter Auri has also decided she wants to help, despite her mom's pleas to stay out of it. Without fail, wherever Auri goes, trouble isn't far behind.

This book is a bit different because you get both Sunshine's and Auri's point of view, so it feels as if it switches between an adult novel and a young adult one. That took a little getting used to.

I'm notorious for reading series out of order, but this is one that I recommend you start from the beginning. The antics are bananas enough as it is, without missing information that came in the book before. I switched between the physical and the audio version, so I could listen with my husband on a road trip, and he did an ok job of keeping up with what was going on but I think it would have been a lot more enjoyable if he had the character background that I did from the first two books.

Speaking of the characters, they are all just so, so great—both the main and supporting ones. They're often grumpy, meddling, smart, real, and completely loveable. As always, I was completely devastated when I turned the last page and had to say goodbye to them all.

This is the third book in the Sunshine Vicram series and I saw someone that’s this series is a trilogy and if that is true I am very upset. I love the characters in this world and would be happy with more books in the series. The dry sense of humor resonates with me and definitely makes this author one I will be continuing to follow. Often with mysteries or thrillers I don’t think reading them in order is necessary but with this one there are some big over-arching storylines that make this series important to read in order. Sunshine isn’t sure how to deal with the all that she has learned in recent days but her attempt of solving her problems with tequila was a mistake, Especially when her hangover co-insides with several cases coming including an unidentifiable young woman who was left for dead. Of course Sunshine’s daughter Auri has to do her own investigating, but there are other open cases involving those that wish them ill. While at times this book felt almost like a cozy it is definitely more of a thriller and deals with some really important, series, and pretty in your face topics. Trigger warnings for sexual assault and physical assault.

Darynda Jones wields her metaphorical pen and magic unfolds on the pages. I adore every one of her series, but I think this is my favorite. I totally dig supernaturals, but this book is more realistic and one of my favorite genres is crime fiction. Sunshine and Levi. Auri and Cruz. And everyone else in Del Sol. I don't know how Darynda does it, but she creates characters I love. All of them... including minor side characters. She makes me care about all of the good ones and despise the bad ones. I read several long-term series and I'm invested in the those characters, but Darynda's worm their way into my heart from book one unlike any other author. The Sunshine Vicram series seems to be a trilogy but so was the Grave series originally and that ended at thirteen. Fingers crossed we get that many for Sunshine and crew. There is murder and mayhem and laughs and love. This book has everything!
