In The Wolf is Mine , Paige Tyler brings murder, kidnapping, magic, romance, action, and suspense to the thirteenth book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team paranormal romantic suspense series. Set in contemporary times and mainly in Dallas, Texas, this novel features SWAT werewolf Connor Malone and Kat Davenport.

Connor Malone and some of his SWAT team are in San Antonio looking for their teammate. However, things go wrong at an abandoned site outside of the city. They’re fighting against a creature that may be more powerful than they are.

Back in Dallas, a powerful woman, Kat Davenport, claims she’s a friend of Connor’s and she needs the SWAT team’s help to defeat the magic wielder who has made her a feline for most of the last four years. When she and Connor meet again, their chemistry is blazing hot. How do they know each other?

Connor and Kat are fantastic characters. While Connor is an alpha and protective, Kat is a strong and powerful female protagonist. They balance each other well. Despite being attracted to each other, they keep their feelings to themselves for a while letting the attraction build instead of an instant romance. Characters from previous books in the series make appearances, but the focus is on Connor and Kat.

The plot was complex with lots of twists and turns and the stakes were high. The significant amount of danger and action kept me fully engaged and made this a true page turner for me. The author uses a unique take on werewolves and does a good job of explaining this.

It is a riveting story with protagonists that I liked and cheered on as their efforts to combat the powerful creature and the magic wielder progressed and became ever more dangerous and unusual. It held my attention fully and contained the elements that I love in this genre of books. This book delivers on escapism through attraction, friendship, family, romance, and love. At the same time, it tackles the serious issues of disappearances, evil, and family relationships. The addition of magic added another dimension to this novel, making it an exceptional read. While most conflicts and issues are resolved, there a thread that may end up in a future book.

Overall, it was suspenseful, full of danger, and action-packed. This engaging combination delivered on the promise of its premise and opening scenes. The subplots tied together well, the main characters were strong, and the ending was explosive. If you enjoy thrilling paranormal romantic suspense novels, then I recommend you check out this series. There is enough background that this novel can be read as a standalone, but the series is best read in order.

SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Paige Tyler provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date is currently set for January 10, 2023. This review was originally posted at Mystery and Suspense Magazine.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the chance to read The wolf is mine by Paige Tyler. Although this is the 13th book in the SWAT series, I believe you can read it as a standalone (although why would you???) I have enjoyed this different take on werewolves since the first book, and the author has been branching out to include other supernatural beings. This book was highly anticipated as there was something different about the pack's mascot, Kat, the cat who sauntered in to SWAT's compound, and attached herself to Connor. This series has been fun to read, with lots of action, and sexy werewolves, and while this book had that, I found there was a bit more suspense and darkness than the earlier books. Totally recommend not only this book, but the entire series (as well as the author's companion series STAT. I can't wait for the next book!!!

The Wolf is Mine by Paige Tyler is the 13th book in the SWAT series. This book features SWAT team member Connor Malone and his cat...or his Kat. It turns out that the cat that adopted Connor in previous books is a cursed witch who is only allowed to be her human self for brief periods. When Connor goes missing after Kat transforms into a human, he gets in touch with the SWAT team because she feels that something is wrong.

The SWAT team is in way over their heads with their newest enemy who also is the nefarious warlock that cursed Kat. Kat needs to tap into all of her powers to be able to assist the SWAT team to defeat their nemesis. I loved the premise that Kat was able to initially become close to Connor as a cat. The book had excellent flow to it and was an engrossing read that went to fast. Paige Tyler also provides entertaining dialogue and some intense heat between the couple which enhances the story for the reader.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed Paige Tyler's X-Ops series or Kait Ballenger's Seven Range Shifters series.

I was provided an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review of the materials.

I have read several of the SWAT series by Paige Tyler and I have to admit this might be one of my favorites. If you have read the series, I think this just might be the book you have been waiting for and I bet you already knew that cat wasn't really a cat!

There is sex but push that all away the story and characters are well developed. The author is bringing in more supernatural characters into her stories and the wolves are discoveries make it entertaining.

Paige Tyler has created sexy supernatural world that comes to life with each different romantic story.

The "The One" does get old after a while but it is what connects all the books in Paige Tyler series.

Thank you to Netgalley for advance copy of Paige Tyler The Wolf is Mine.

I've been waiting, what feels like a long time, for this book. I knew there was something special about Kat and I loved how much Connor cared for his feline friend. When it turned out Kat wasn't feline but female I knew they were destined to be mates. The Wolf is Mine has all of the action you'd expect of a SWAT book and revisiting old characters is like being a guest at one of their traditional BBQs. Another fantastic addition to a great paranormal series!

The Wolf is Mine is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Kat is a witch spelled to be a cat for most of each year. Connor is a werewolf part of a swat team of werewolves who formed an instant bound with a cute little kitty cat. Teenagers are missing and Connor’s cat is too but he’s in for a shock when she shows up walking around on two legs. Kay’s magic comes to the rescue when the swat guys need help finding the missing kids and stopping evil magic users. A touch of instant love with a touch of fated mates gives the story a sweet and steamy HEA flavor with plenty of action to keep the story flowing for an easy to read, feel good paranormal romance. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.

I haven’t read any other books in the series so I feel this can be read as a stand alone. I’m interested in reading the other books because I enjoyed this one so much!

I thought the take on witches and shifters in this book was unique and set itself apart from others in this genre. There was a thriller aspect that I enjoyed as Kat and Connor worked together to break the curse and defeat the bad guy.

The SWAT team are looking for pack members who have disappeared. Werewolf Connor Malone is distracted by his pet cat that can't be found.

Witch Kat Davenport has a lot of explaining to do. Her circumstances cause a few giggles and some fear.

This is a steamy paranormal romance with great characters. Its full of magical battles, powerful villains and frustrated heroes. We are thrown into the action on the first page and our protagonists hardly get time to breathe from then until the end.

This book is part of an on-going series, but eack book can be read alone. Don't be surprised if you find yourself shopping for more after you read one. They are addictive.

Exciting reading.

I loved it.

The Wolf is Mine is, unfortunately, the latest disappointing installment in Paige Tyler's SWAT series. I don't know what's been happening with Tyler's books. Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm the problem, but I can't help but be extremely disappointed in her latest offerings, including this one. It's all insta-love and no actual romance. The Wolf is Mine is no different. There is no actual building of a relationship, it's all automatic. They're soulmates and that's it. The romance takes a backseat to all the intrigue/adventure of the plot, which involved witches this time. It's such a shame, as Tyler's books used to be so good. It's not that The Wolf is Mine is a bad book, it isn't. But it is a boring.

2.5 stars

Kat has been a cat for much of the past year. She is able to be human for 7-14 days each year, after having had a spell cast over her four years earlier by a powerful mage. She becomes human just in time to help the Special Wolf Alpha Team and the Special Threat Assessment Team with a series of disappearances and murders that has them deeply concerned. Apparently, Kat’s currently limited ability to use magic is needed to help solve the mysterious disappearances. Connor has been feeding and housing Kat in her feline form, not knowing that she was also human. He’s upset with her when he discovers her dual nature, but it’s kind of silly since she had no way of communicating this info to him. Once he gets over his snit, they actually start to get along better. His teammates can see it happening, but Connor resists until he can’t anymore.

This is definitely an original premise for a book! It’s well-plotted and full of mystery and intrigue. The tension stays fairly stable until the end, when it jumps up even higher. The protagonists are likable (except for the snit part!) and the team dynamics are great! The dialogue seems natural and not forced. And the ending is well thought out as well as exciting. This is a fun read!

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of THE WOLF IS MINE (SWAT book 13) by Paige Tyler in exchange for an honest review. Connor Malone and some of his teammates get into trouble in San Antonio. A witch by the name of Kat Davenport leads some of his team to the rescue. As it turns out, Kat claims to be the SWAT cat and needs their help to undo her curse and stop the warlock who cursed her. In this instance, cats and dogs can work together, right?

This book had some interesting twists as it focused more on the world of witches than the world of werewolves. Overall, I really like the series. Paranormal romance with law enforcement themes.

Fantastic Fast Paced Supernatural Mystery with Steam.

Kat was a Witch who for only two weeks a year was allowed to be human, the rest of the year she was a cat. An evil Warlock had killed her coven members and stored their powers within her, then binding her to him in the form of a cat but she managed to get away before he completed the spell.

Kat had been staying with Connor, a Werewolf part of the SWAT team of Werewolves for the last nine months. She had disappeared as her change was due. Meanwhile Connor and his team had been sent to investigate why two of their team had gone missing and had got caught in a dangerous spell.

When Kat turned up as a human at headquarters and realised they were in danger, she persuaded the team to go with her to rescue them. Connor couldn’t believe the cat who slept with him was actually a human. Kat had fallen in love with Connor in her cat form and it was taking Connor a little while to accept her but he realised that she was his soul mate.

Meanwhile something supernatural was happening. Children were going missing and being sacrificed at certain times of the year. It was up to the team to try to get to the bottom of it and when they realised it was somehow connected to Kat, they needed a way to break her free from the Warlock.

I couldn’t put this story down! It was full of suspense, intrigue, mystery, fast paced action which kept me glued to the pages with some romance and steamy moments. A great ending to the story and a HEA for Connor and Kat!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Connor and Kat's story. Good read, and one that is hard to put down. Lots of romance and action kept the story moving right along. Highly recommend.

Our protagonist, Kat, is working her way to solve her own personal mysterious problem when her world collided with Conner’s world. After sharing life together for some time, the two finally talk and begin working together to help save some children being effected in the area. It’s only when Connor and Kat work together that the kids can be saved and perhaps they will save one another in the process.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fast-paced, action, suspense, and add in evil witches and good-guy werewolves. Stopping the megalomaniac while breaking a curse, yea just another day. Fun reading!

I've been looking forward to reading Kat's story ever since she turned up in the series. We knew she wasn't just an ordinary cat that just happened to walk into Connors life, but we had to wait for her story until now.

Connor and his SWAT team have been looking for Kat since she disappeared in the last book, without any luck. He's disappointed and scared something bad has happened to her, but needs to put his focus on the lastest case they've got. Some teenagers have gone missing, just vanished out of their houses and nobody seems to know where they've gone. When they find out that two of his pack members who have gone to investigate a disappearance of another two teenagers, are missing too, he and a few of his pack set out to investigate. They stumble upon a magical sign and warn their pack about this before finding their two missing friends in a bad state but getting stuck in the room with them without any means to escape.

Meanwhile Kat the cat has changed into a human. It turns out she's a witch who had to watch a warlock kill her whole coven and has her under a binding spell to get all her and her coven members' powers and that turned her into a cat. Luckily before the spell was completed she was able to escape. Unfortunately she's a cat most part of the year with only about 10 days as a human. She returns to the pack's compound to seek help, only to find out Connor and his team mates have gone missing. When she recognises the magical sign, she's able to help free Connor and his packmates.

To say Connor is stunned and also hurt to find out Kat is in fact is his missing cat and that she never told him she was a witch, is put mildly. But of course they reconsile and get closer than ever. They both work together to find the missing kids and meanwhile try to find a way to free Kat from the spell. When it turns out that the missing teenagers case and Kat's binding spell are related, the hunt is on.

I loved every little bit about this book. The closeness of the pack members, how they all are so very close. I loved how, even though Connor was hurt at the beginning, he quickly realised that his feelings for Kat were stronger, he sensed that she was his 'One' and would do anything to protect her and free her of the spell. Kat was lovely too, willing to do anything to stand by Connors side and to help him.

The story was a nice mix of action packed scenes and so lovely, sweet romance along with some sexy scenes.

Highly recommended and I'm already looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series.

*I kindly received this ARC from the author via Netgalley.*

I was so so excited to see this story coming out, for while now I have been very curious about Connors cat. He obsession with her and she was always about and followed him everywhere. Loved this story it was perfect for Connor and finding out about Kat and her background. Their story was fun and exciting plus it makes me think that we may have more stories about Connor's sisters in the future.

Can't wait for the next one.

I enjoy this SWAT series. This installment has a lot of darkness and the group must work together to battle some evil sources. When a witch is spelled into being a cat most of the time, it complicates her friendship with the team and growing affection for Connor. I always enjoy that the team is so protective of their mates and friendships.

Kat is a cat or is she? Kat is stuck in her cat shape except for a couple days a year. She found and cuddled up to Connor as a cat. Now the trouble that cursed her into her feline body has followed her to Dallas and the SWAT team. This is going to shake up Connor’s world view.
This is an amazing addition to the series. I just loved Connor as an adorably confused werewolf. This is non-stop action mixed with love and magic.
