I totally didn’t realize this book was the third in a series when I requested it but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment! This is such a perfect series to get into this spooky season.

Kiera is able to see and somewhat communicate with ghosts, at the beginning of this book she’s invited over to Dane Crispin’s large mansion for dinner. She brings along two friends (Zoe and Mason) and they think something nefarious is going on but it’s not exactly what the think.

This sets the friends off on a ghostly adventure of energy transfers and a trip back to the college that Mason dropped out of for another eerie reason.

This book was a fun, paranormal adventure full of friendship and I quite enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the previous two books in the series!

4 stars!

Another great book by Darcy Coates, Darcy has a great writing style in the horror genre. It had a great tense atmosphere and did what I was hoping based on previous books by the same author. The plot was what I was hoping for and did everything the description said. The characters worked really well and I was glad I was able to go through this journey. I look forward to reading more from Coates.

"Zoe’s look of concern only deepened. “You’re…saying…you think your cat…cursed you?” “Something like that, sure.” “Maybe the curse really is sapping your intelligence,” Zoe whispered, looking horrified. “Keira, quick, what’s two plus two?” "Three,” Keira said, then ignored her friend’s anguished wail. “No, seriously, it’s fine. It’s just Daze."

A solid continuation for this series by Coates. It gives the right amount of spooky and supernatural without being over the top.

The Twisted Dead is the third book in the gatekeeper series. It comes complete with a haunted house, ghosts, romance, murder, and a story that will keep you reading way past your bedtime.

Coates never disappoints and is terrific in the gothic genre. Enjoy!
