This is an extremely extensive book. It was not an easy read for me however I skipped to parts that might best suit me. There are plenty of diagrams that help explain the digestive system and hormones. It was pretty cut and dry with the information it was giving. |

This was super informative and helpful. As a women so many things in our gut are different and this was helpful to see what could be going on. |

This is a bit of a slower read, but full of good information about women's gut health.. the formatting made it harder to read. |

This was a facinating and informative book about healty eating and how so much of YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT made real. |

I was excited to get this book as a good resource for women's gut health. I've never had the most cooperative stomach, but I have noticed my symptoms worsening as I get older. Specifically, bloating, intense cramping, and irregularity have become my norm. Overall, this provides guidance on strategies to help with gut health and how our guts differ from men's. It gives some recipes, strategies, and tips to help without an all-knowing tone. I appreciate that they give this advice without the notion that their guidance is a cure-all; as many of us who pick up this book may know, sometimes stomach issues can flare up seemingly out of nowhere, or after eating things that had previously been okay in your diet. I would have enjoyed this book more had the formatting of it not been so difficult to read. I tried downloading my ARC multiple times, to no avail. Paragraphs were oddly placed, with words like "copyright" and "sale" being randomly intermingled throughout the text, making it hard to follow along. |

What Every Woman Needs to Know About Her Gut completely exposes how much we do not understand and have not been told about our bodies and ways to heal from the ignorance. Grateful. |

I wasn't able to finish this book before it was archived. I did find some of it interesting, therefore I am giving 3 stars. I wish the publisher made their books easier to read in the NetGalley app, I believe this is one of the titles I had an issue with. |

This book took me a while to get through because it contains a lot of information, so prepare yourself to be educated and best to break it up and read a section or two at a time. It had alot of facts and info, some relevant to me and some not but interesting nonetheless. It also contains some great recipes and meal plans to try out. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. |

Just what I needed. Now ready for the healing to start.. There are many ways to improve gut health, but the best way is by increasing our knowledge and this book definitely does that. The first four chapters (Section 1) are just learning about your gut. Then the authors share information about women's digestive issues in Section 2.. It is nice to read a book by women for women about our specific digestive issues. I found chapters 7 and 9 (in Section 2) very interesting since they describe how female hormones impact the gut. Then Section 3 is all about your diet and how it impacts your gut. Section 4 is all about first steps to healing your gut. This is a very valuable book for healing gut issues for you or someone you know. It will also be a great reference guide to have in the library as we age and our hormones change. |

Thank you NetGalley and Sheldon Press for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own. The two authors are experts in their field of feminine gut health. This reference book would be a great guide to revisit for practical information about how the female digestive system works, how IBS and functional dyspepsia affects women, and how to help your diagnosis through lifestyle choices. The book is quite dense and packed with lots of information. It debunks myths and provides great practical tips for dealing with a range of women-specific health issues. It is easy to read yet filled with medically based information for the women affected by these issues. |

Having developed food allergies in my late twenties, while also coping with rosacea, I've become much more aware of what I put into my body and how my diet affects my everyday life. Diet is so important, and now I have a great resource to help me understand my body better. Thank you, Netgalley! |

This book has helped me so much and I am grateful to NetGalley for providing me with a copy for the purpose of this review. I am giving it five stars. It's super informative and I felt like it was easy to comprehend. The information was clear and concise! |

As a nutrition coach, I felt like this was a very valuable book that I will refer back to in the future. It is a resource to keep on your bookshelf for when you need to pull it out. The fact that it was written by women, for women, is nice because our bodies DO differ from those of men, whether you want to admit it or not. Thank you to the author for this informative book that helped teach me stuff about IBS and gut health in general that I hadn’t learned anywhere else. Also, thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. |

This really is an extremely useful and informative book that is a must if you are suffering from any kind of stomach/digestive or gut trouble or are just looking for advice on keeping your gut healthy. It's become an invaluable tool for me in the last few weeks since I received a copy to review, such a good amount of well researched knowledge and useful information. |

This book is full of information to get to know your gut a little better. I loved the part about the effect of female hormones on the gut and the problems that are more likely to occur in women, and how easy is to follow it even without any previous knowledge about the disgestive system. In my opinion it is too focused on IBS, I was looking for general information, and it was too specific to this disease. There are good recipes, and I think an interesting diet and very useful tips if you suffer from IBS or any other digestive problem, but my recommendation is to always go to your doctor to have your progress monitored by a professional. This book is recommended if you want to know a bit more about the biology behind the female digestive system and its most common diseases in women. |

This is a great resource book for anyone with stomach problems. I have been using it and following some of the suggestions and strategies for a while and have found it really useful. |

I loved this book on What Every Woman Needs to Know About Her Gut, the main goal of the authors is make women understand how their gut works, their condition and restore their gut health through knowledge, Helping women to use the FLAT Gut program to minimize their symptoms while concentrate on eating varied and nutritionally balanced diet. This book will surely improve the quality of life of the reader through better gut health. Thank you Netgalley and Sheldon Press for a copy of this book for my honest review. I just reviewed What Every Woman Needs to Know About Her Gut by Professor Barbara Ryan, MD, and Elaine McGowan, RD. #WhatEveryWomanNeedstoKnowAboutHerGut |

I saw this title and was instantly sucked in. Gut Health and microbiome and flora of the gut is such an upcoming topic in healthcare that is showing to be connecting to so many other areas of health that are not limited to your stomach or intestines. This book was very knowledgeable and provided a ton of information and rationale for how to best protect and heal your gut from various incendiaries. I think so few research and authors spend time addressing women specific issues despite our unique hormonal concerns. Overall, a wonderful read for anyone interested in supporting their gut health. |

"What Every Woman Needs to Know About Her Gut" is chocked full of very helpful information to address issues women face in regard to their gut health as well as things to know to prevent issues with your gut from happening.
