I saw this title and was instantly sucked in. Gut Health and microbiome and flora of the gut is such an upcoming topic in healthcare that is showing to be connecting to so many other areas of health that are not limited to your stomach or intestines. This book was very knowledgeable and provided a ton of information and rationale for how to best protect and heal your gut from various incendiaries. I think so few research and authors spend time addressing women specific issues despite our unique hormonal concerns. Overall, a wonderful read for anyone interested in supporting their gut health.

One look at the title and I was instantly interested. I guess that looking after oneself gains even more importance once you've reached your forties!

Even though the book is aimed at women who have been diagnosed or are looking to be diagnosed with specific digestive conditions, the information included is more widely useful. Plus, you can do what I did and skip the sections that are not relevant to you personally.

The way I see it, if you are a woman and you have a gut (!), then there are definitely parts of this book you'll find helpful and eye-opening.

Very informative and good read. I like that it acts more as a guide than a rule book, because every person has different problems and needs. I would really recommend it!

This book was great to see and I enjoyed residing it, its really important that this is talked about.

My one gripe was that the copy I had was hard to read due to editing however this didn't detract too much from the content and I think it would be better to be read not on a kindle.

Thank you for the arc.

Fascinating look into what women need to know about their gut. This book is very detailed and doesn't miss a single bullet point on how we can keep our guts healthy, and why it is even more impactful for women. I think there are very actionable steps one can take to ensure a healthy gut, and the author takes the time to explain everything and makes sure the reader knows that there isn't one magic pill a person can take to get healthy. This is a book I will keeping on hand for reference in the future.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sheldon Press for the eARC of this book.

I'm always interested in health and wellness. As a mom of ten children I want to be able to be healthy and active and participate in their lives. This book is perfectly suited for easy learning and application. Gut health is pivotal and this book addresses the issues that most women face and gives easy to follow solutions to the problems. New year - new resolutions - new health goals. Here we go

This is an excellent resource for anyone who with a physical or functional gut disorder. The authors discuss the many conditions that affect the gut, why they cause the symptoms that make us slaves to our gut and the treatment and lifestyle options. I love the “bullet point” style in various chapter that made it easier for me to grasp the subject matter. The Low-FODMAP eating plan is described well in this book and the book describes the three higher risk FODMAP elements in IBS, which makes the eating plan less restrictive.
I see myself referring to this book now and the as I manage life with a chronic functional digestive disorder. I think that tips will be helpful and I’m also more educated on tests and treatment options to discuss with my physician. #netgalley #WhatEveryWomanNeedsToKnowAboutHerGut

You don’t read this unless you have a dodgy gut!
I found it really well-structured - first you learn about how your gut functions, then move on to what causes problems, then what you can do about it.
The authors use research to back up their recommendations and aren’t afraid to steer you away from shonky remedies or solutions.
I probably won’t use the diet but it seems pretty sensible (I was on the Fodmap diet for a while which is pretty restrictive).
I got lots of tips and advice though: I’m currently having a strong coffee - who knew that it could be such a big help with constipation ;)
Recommended: practical and evidence-based advice from trusted sources.

I feel like the American Education system failed me in many ways. One major one being, I don’t know a single thing about my body. That’s why I appreciate books like this that talk about things I should know, specifically in women's health. I found this book easy to follow a long and nicely organized. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book!

This one is very useful more if you're suffering from IBS this one will be super helpful really.

I did take a few pointers on how to get help with my condition very broadly, I suffer from a hiatal hernia so it does help to know how not to irritate the stomach or the bowels so everything can be a little smoother.

So I will advise it to understand better and know what to ask of your doctor when you have symptoms in your digestive system.

This book was incredibly informative on a topic I believe every woman deserves to know. Growing up, I didn't know the impact food had on my body. As a woman, this feels incredibly relevant to my wellbeing. This book broke down information, misinformation, and advice to help improve health.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

A fantastic resource for any woman to have on her bookshelf. It clearly explains common causes of gut imbalances and various approaches to dealing with them, from the unique biochemical perspective of the female body.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book is extremely thorough and medicine-based. I leaned so much about how the digestive system works and what exactly different gut problems are. The authors are both experts, but their thoughtful explanations are balanced with real people’s stories. It was really awesome to see that the book was specific about women and the differences between the two sexes. If you have IBS, FD, or any other gut problem, this book will help you be more informed. If you are seeking treatment for a gut problem, the book will prepare you to understand your symptoms and get effective medical help. That being said, I am not sure if this book is as compelling for women who don’t have severe digestive problems but still want to improve their gut health.
