Thank you NetGalley and Zonderkids Publishing for the chance to read this little book early.
I found Scarlett adorable and inspiring. The can -do and overcoming attitude she has makes me want to be like her when I grow up. I wish daily aspirations worked for everyone!

I was so super close to buying this for my niece who has a family that looks very much like Scarlett’s and whose personality can definitely match that of this adorable and wonderful little girl in many ways. In fact, I’m personally of the mind that this book is almost pure perfection.

I’m so excited about the messages it sends, especially that of kindness and remembering to be kind even in moments that we don’t really feel as kind as we perhaps could be or know we are. The shy and brave pieces were absolutely amazing, too!

And I loved the illustrations!

All of this said, the book does have a small exclusionary problem because it brings in religion. And for that reason alone, what could have been literally the most perfect book I ever could have gotten my niece ended up being something I could never feel comfortable gifting to her. And it’s a real shame, which I found quite disappointing.

Now, I recognize that this is a personal thing that will apply to some who are like me and won’t apply to others. So, if you do happen to believe in God, then this book might genuinely be perfect for you and your family. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t a good match for me and mine.

This adorable book is perfect for little girls! It is so cute and has a strong message. Before my daughter was born, I had seen a video on the internet about affirmations and saying them daily with your children. By the time my daughter was speaking, I taught each evening before bed to say a handful, including the ones in this book! This sweet story is told by a little girl and addresses a range of emotions a girl might feel and why, like sadness or grouchiness or fear. She remembers the affirmations she reviews each day with her Mama and they encourage her to make good choices and overcome. What an inspiration to other little girls, like mine! The illustrations are vivid, adorable and colorful. The words are short, sweet and easy to understand.

The book also depicts a multi-racial family making this a great book for adoptive families like ours and other kinds of blended families. The faith element to the book is very light, with only a reminder that Mama loves her little girl and God does too. It also offers some additional affirmations and encourages young girls to assert themselves and believe in themselves. How empowering! A definite recommendation that would make a great gift to the little girl in your life!

* I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to write a positive review.

This is an absolutely beautiful book, both in it's message and appearance. It feels so well done! Whilst teaching children about postive affirmations it also explains the emotions to younger children, still trying to understand their own.

I can not recommend this book highly enough, if you have young children in your life then it's an absolute must for the bookshelf!

This book is a great way to start your day! I think I am going to get this for my classroom. It is full of daily affirmations for kids to start their day off on the right foot. I definitely recommend this!

I’m sure you’ve seen the viral reels of this dynamic duo of the best mother and daughter team ever doing daily affirmations while doing the little one’s hair. I’m also sure you were just as mesmerized as I was. They always brighten my day and bring a smile to my face.

When I saw this audiobook pop up, I knew I had to request it on Netgalley. I was approved and immediately had to listen. Both my little niece who isn’t much older than the talented daughter, Scarlett Gray, of Tiania, the author, listened and enjoyed this greatly. We too have since started implementing affirmations while doing her hair or even while driving. Tiania and Scarlett have inspired millions and millions. I can’t wait to pick up the final copy in stores because I just know it’s going to be just as amazingly awesome. Thank you for sharing your love and hearts with the world.

I highly recommend for all ages. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an advance listening copy in exchange for my honest review.

Again, this book can help adults as much as the children in our lives. The sweet story about a little girl’s mother brushing her hair in the morning and telling her to look in the mirror and always say “I am beautiful”, “I am strong”, “I am brave”, “I am kind”, and “I am going to have a good day” this one will have you tearing up, holding onto yourself and your little ones, and remind you that you are beautiful, strong, brave, kind, and going to have a good day, no matter what you look like or how different or unique you are. This one is precious!

I'm Going to Have a Good Day is a children's book that shows how not everyone has good days and that is ok. It also shows that it is ok for someone to feel different and be upset or annoyed but as long as you push through you can always try to make it the greatest day ever.

An empowering and uplifting book filled with affirmations that children can repeat daily.

Scarlett repeats her affirmations through the day. I am beautiful. I am kind. I am loved. Her words not only remind her of the truths of her life, but also inspire those around her to create their own positive internal mental self-talk. The words Scarlett uses fill her mind and heart with love and joy, pushing out any negative thoughts that may bring her down.

With a powerful message about the impact of words and the important role they play in childhood development and self-esteem, this book is a great way for parents to establish their own affirmation routine with their kids and come up with a list of their own to repeat daily.

This story was both entertaining and educational, which can be a tricky balance to maintain in a children’s book, and I will be suggesting it to teachers whenever possible. Incorporating social-emotional skills and topics such as this into children's picture books is a tried and true way to teach an important life skill in a way that is fun. This would be an amazing addition for classroom libraries, counselling offices and more.

This is a gorgeous book. The affirmations and message are wonderful. The diversity in the illustrations is great. However, and this is personal, I'd rather not have God in it. Having said that,, that works wonderfully for other families.

I'm Going to Have a Good Day! by Tiania Heneline is such an uplifting read.

This is such a wonderful book about being brave, kind and strong - even in the moments where that feels hard to do. I love the illustrations and the message this book gives.

I read this story to my littles, and they loved repeating the affirmations after me and it made me realize these are things that should be said to everyone, every day. Waking up and telling ourselves we are brave; we are kind, and we are going to have a great day can go a long way for many.

Thank you Netgalley and Zonderkidz for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from netgalley for a honest review,

I wonderful book about being brave, kind and strong - and having a good day! Scarlett isn't like anyone else and no one else is like her but she and her mom say affirmations everyday to make sure that it's going to be a good day. Beautifully written and drawn.

Yes! These affirmations are so important and I love that the text isn't super long in this book. The affirmations stand out so much more that way! Love the diversity!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the authors, and Zonderkidz for an e-arc in exchange for an honest opinion. I read this to my kiddos (excluding the parts about God), and they loved it as much as we did!

It is a fantastic way to introduce affirmations and talk about the importance of how we think about ourselves in our heads. The storyline was engaging, illustrations amazing, and we loved the multiple affirmations to try at the end.

I didn’t realize it included references to God, and if I had, wouldn’t have chosen to read it due to our personal beliefs. Otherwise 5⭐️s!

This is a cute way for children to have examples of positive self-affirmation to incorporate into their daily lives. Very well-drawn illustrations that led me to want to know more about the characters!

What a beautiful way to introduce or encourage affirmations in kids. I love the artwork, the message, and the representation of the family.

Families are beautiful things. Scarlett's mom reminds her daily of how precious she is. I think this is important for children to hear. (Adults, too!)

I would not feel comfortable using this book at school due to references to god and bible. Definitely for a target audience with love,y illustrations, not for the larger community of public education.

Need to fill 100 words, nothing left to say.

I had no idea Scarlett and Tiania wrote a book, but I love them and love this book so much more! While reading it I thought "this reminds me of those two people on tiktok" and behold, it's by them! This book, like their videos, warm my heart. This diverse family representation and so important and rarely portrayed. I'm so happy they made this book. I love that this book encouraged positivity and affirmations, while also rooting it in reality- that sometimes we mess up and can't be the person we set out to be every day. The illustrations were beautiful and colorful. I couldn't recommend this book enough. Everyone should have it in their home.
