The series has jumped the shark. If you like light comedy/mystery, this series is for you. I felt that it went on too long.

Such a great addition to the series. I'm interested to see where Finlay's story goes. I'm really invested in this series and am glad to see where it goes.

It’s always fun reuniting with Finlay and Vero! There’s nothing crazy about this book, you basically know what you’re going to get when you reunite with these two, but it’s always a good time and they make me laugh.

I have loved this series so much! Finlay and Vero are the perfect duo with humor and witty banter. I cannot wait to continue reading this series.

Finlay and Vero are at it again, this time a new conundrum awaits. While the story still had some fun and quirky moments, the pacing didn’t feel as quick as with the first two stories. By the time I got to book 3, things seemed to get rather repetitive and slightly stale. Taking a break before reaching for the next in this series.

I've tried to get into the Finlay Donovan series a few times, but I just cannot seem to enjoy the character or how out-of-touch the scenarios are. Maybe it just isn't a book series for me.

This series is one of my absolute favorites! Finlay Donavan is absolutely hilarious and someone I could easily see myself being friends with. Also, we could ALL use a friend like Vero! The banter, the chaos, and always the heartwarming lessons are top notch in this series and this book did not disappoint. I’m curious if there will be another book in the series. If there is, I’m definitely reading it!

Finlay Donovan jumps the gun is the 3rd book in this hilarious series. You never know what Fin and her sidekick Vero are going to get themselves into. I love the quick humor and the mob boss vibe. Finlay and Vero join a police officer training camp to get ideas for Finlays book and to figure out who easyclean is what they find you will never guess.

While before the silly low stakes bumbling would leave you smiling, this adventure just makes you sigh at all the impossible situations and resolutions. At least the love triangle seems to be at its conclusion.

I absolutely devoured the first two Finaly Donovan books in 2 days, and this one was no different. I for sure have regrets that I am just now (June 2024) reading this series because I have been loving it! These books are funny, with just enough mystery and suspense to keep you hooked.

In this book, Finaly and Vero end up at a police training camp, and I loved the forced proximity it brought, especially between Finlay and Nick. I will say, I did not have a good read on who the bad guy was in this one, even when I thought I did! 😂 Overall, if you like mystery that isn't too creepy or actually scary, this series is IT. I will absolutely read more of this series and keep rooting for Finaly and Vero!

Elle Cosimano does it again! The third book in this series was such a delight. I loved following along with Finley and crew. It was a quick, fun read and anyone who has read the previous two will surely enjoy it.

This book started out a little slow for me, but it had also been years since I immersed myself into the Finlay Donovan universe. I do wish there had been a little more of a refresher into what had taken place in the prior books. Luckily the charm and the hijinks drew me back in for this wild ride and made me remember why I enjoy this series so much. The friendship and banter between Finlay and Vero is unmatched, and I hope to see that continued through the next part of the series! The cliffhanger ending had me immediately pick up the next book.

I love these Finlay Dononvan novels soo much! Each book closely follows the one before it and I feel immediately swept away in the story. This might be my favorite so far though because I absolutely love that there was progress between Finlay and Nick!! I can’t wait to read the next one!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. When I started this installment, and once again Finlay ends up in the vicinity of a dead body that she needs to cover up, I wondered how many more times Finlay could be mistaken for a killer and get away with it...but by the end, I was fully invested in continuing! It feels like the characters are being allowed to grow and that the story is moving forward instead of staying in the same loop.

I was so happy that the love triangle is dead and buried, and that Finlay and Vero continue to have the playful banter and deep commitment to keeping each other's secrets. Steven (Finlay's terrible ex-husband) is even interesting to me now that he may have some secrets of his own....

SYNOPSIS | This story picks up exactly where Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead finishes off. Finlay is being pressured by her editor to change the ending of her book, whilst the local mob boss is pressuring her to find the name of a contract killer and Vero is also being pressured to pay off her debt to a loan shark.

WHAT I LIKED:
- the citizen's police academy was a really fun setting
- more depth into Vero's backstory
- no more love triangle!
- the banter between Finlay + Vero was hilarious as always

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- a lot of new characters introduced to us (which my little brain struggled to keep straight)
- my least favourite of the series so far (Finlay's story is starting to feel too dragged out)

This is the third book in the Finlay series and Finlay and Vero are still up to their usual shenanigans. They are indebted to the mob and are tasked with finding a contract killer before the police do. Finlay and Vera attend a citizens police academy for a week and try to hunt down the contract killer that may be a police officer.

Like the rest of the series this book had me laughing; I absolutely love the relationship between Finlay and Vero! I found this one a little slower with the story line but I liked the idea of the citizens police academy. The set up for the fourth one really intrigues me and I can’t wait to read it! Definitely one of my favorite mystery series - it's always fun to see what ridiculousness FInlay and Vero are getting into! I can't wait for the next one now.

Just like the first two books, this was fun, quirky, entertaining, and an easy read! I still appreciate all of the relationships and unlikely situations Finlay finds herself in!

I loved this latest iteration in the Finlay Donovan series! If you are a fan of the series, it picks up where the last book left off and continues the same pacing as the first two books. Looking forward to reading the next one!
