Fantastic intro to Haven's Rock. I so love these Yukon stories and the introduction of some new characters! I think Yolanda and Lilith will be wonderful additions! The jury is still out on Mr. Charming (Gunnar). Kudos to Kelley for always keeping me guessing, I was sure I knew who the bad guy was, but was wrong, again! Great ending and set-up for future installments! Can't wait for the next one!

Yay! A fresh new series by one of the best! I was all over this.
This time we are in Haven’s Rock, Yukon.
This is a spinoff, a fresh start... with a few new dangers that threaten everything before it even begins.

Murder at Haven's Rock by Kelley Armstrong was a captivating story for me.
This was such a great introduction to a really unique town with so many great and fun characters.
Her characters and storytelling is exceptional! Detective Casey Duncan and her husband, Sheriff Eric Dalton I loved them in the Rockton series and I loved them here.
The plot was interesting and the writing was superb, which made this a quick read for me.
The pacing was also on point.
This book kept me guessing! There was a lot of excitement in this story and the mystery element was very well done.
This series is riveting, suspenseful, and full of twists and turns
A truly gripping, entertaining book; that will keep you wondering and guessing.
I'm really looking forward to seeing where this book series goes.

Detective Casey Duncan and her husband, sheriff Eric Dalton have left Rockton, the town where people who wanted to wipe their slate clean could start their lives over. But the once idyllic town has been changed irrevocably by greed and corruption. They have set out to form a new community at Haven’s Rock, and this time, they will vet all perspective residents. When two members of a construction crew break the town rule about entering the forest and subsequently disappear, Casey and Eric launch a search. They find one of the two dead and must now locate the other missing man and find out what the two stumbled on. what did they see that was worth killing over? Fans of Armstrong’s Rockton series will find much to like here

To be honest, I didn’t really understand why the Rockton series had to end and then rise from the ashes as a new series. After reading Haven’s Rock, it is clear to me why a refresh needed to happen. This book felt both nostalgic and new at the same time. The things we loved about Rockton were still there - the secret town, the wilds of the Yukon and all its weirdness, the quirky cast of characters. But we also have new - this is a town planned by Casey and Dalton, so it is a bit different and sheds some of the older elements that were starting to make the old series a bit “same old, same old”. The exact location in the Yukon is different and, at least in this book, there are new characters to meet.

With the refresh everything felt fresh and fun again. There is enough of the old to not be a shocking change, but also new elements to liven things up. There are three characters in particular who I hope become new regulars. The mystery was good, had some twists and turns, and did keep me guessing and engaged. The story was sprinkled with some humor, as Kelley Armstrong often does, which I enjoyed. The last Rockton book, The Deepest of Secrets, felt dark and disillusioned, and I was pleased to emerge from that in this new book.

I do wish the new town, Haven’s Rock, had more differences over its predecessor. Admittedly, we weren’t completely introduced to all aspects of the town yet, so perhaps it will take on more of a unique identity in future books. I liked the new characters quite a bit. In typical Rockton fashion, even the likable ones left me wondering, “but can they be trusted, really?”

All-in-all I was delighted with this book. When I read a Kelley Armstrong book I expect to be brought into a solid, entertaining story with interesting characters and a unique setting and plot, and this was all of that.

I am looking forward to seeing where this new series will take me.

It’s an incredible book. Some classic Kelley Armstrong Rockton twists, and more mystery that keeps you on your toes the entire time. Truly didn’t see the ending coming, and there are multiple open story lines for more to come!!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Haven's Rock follows in the spirit of Rockton. If you liked that series, you will most certainly like this one. The book starts out with a bang and never stops moving. But it does leave you hopeful that they can achieve their dream of living in peace and harmony in their new haven.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc! I was so sad reading the last Rockton novel, and so excited it to find out it was spinning off into a new town and new arc for the characters. Murder at Haven’s Rock is more of what you love with these awesome characters, except this time they are in unfamiliar terrain and there are new characters wrapped up in it. Mystery itself kept me guessing, and it left me with some long arc mysteries set up for the rest of the series. I read it in one sitting into the night. Couldn’t put it down.
