Wow! Had trouble putting this one down! Lived for a summer on an island in North Carolina, so some of this felt familiar. When Kit returns to the island she finds her family spread out, and her old crush Beau has still caught her eye. Lots of past angst, lots of family issues, but of course there is still love. Would highly recommend (only wish there were some recipes too).

Not quite a Janet Dailey book for me, I'm afraid. Lots to like here but the story just somehow did not flow for me. I hope others will give it a try but my expectations are very high for this author who was a long time favorite of mine.

3 stars.

This is a quick read about love, romance, and family dynamics. Secrets...the past and the present...arguments...making up...making a living...expanding...this is a story that reads like true life...nonfiction...but is fiction...coming home...losing a loved one...themes which abound in this book...This is a talented and gifted author at weaving a cannot put down story...just a good story to read and enjoy...be whisked away...settle in a comfy chair with a warm blanket...just be...happy reading a love story...this book was sent to me by Netgalley for review.
