Like I said about Part of Your World, Yours Truly is just perfection. Abby Jiminez really knows how to tug at readers' heartstrings. I don't think I've read a book of hers yet where I haven't bawled.

Usually I connect more to the female characters for obvious reasons, but man, I couldn't get Jacob out of my head. I loved that he preferred to write his thoughts down to get them in order rather than speaking. I LOVED how that turned into an exchanging of letters between Jacob and Briana.

As always, Abby's books perfectly balance love and humor with something deeper. She teaches the reader about kidney failure and organ donation, and artfully discusses anxiety and coping tactics.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book she writes.

I wanted to give this book a shot because everyone was talking about it, It took a while to grab my attention as I just wasn’t interested in the story or characters. Kinda fell flat for me.

I don't know what magic Abby Jimenez manages to sprinkle into her books, but there's something there and oh my gosh I'm so in love with these characters. From the first moment Briana and Jacob meet on not great terms, to those last few chapters, I was just so invested in their love story. I completely devoured this book in less than a day.
The mental health representation was incredible. Reading about Jacob explaining his anxiety to how he managed his anxieties - it all felt so affirming. I don't know that I'm exactly like him, but a lot of what he struggles with are things that I can struggle with too, and I appreciated how normalized it was made in this book. And it also helped highlight just how well Briana and Jacob fit together, that she learns about his ticks, and so effortlessly works them into her own routine to make him more comfortable. It made my heart swell so much. Meanwhile, sweet Briana has seen so much of how much love can hurt someone, how hard it is to trust men after her own experiences - in her marriage and her childhood. And once again, how perfect these characters are for each other, that Jacob is so earnest and loving and determined to never hurt her or break her trust. Like words don't do justice for how sweet these two were and how truly in love they were. It was so apparent in every page.

Another HOME RUN by Abby Jimenez, who has made an art out of turning difficult subjects in life into clear and relatable storylines. This book deals with chronic illness, organ donation, severe depression and severe anxiety. And all of them are approached with great sensitivity and understanding and a true to life view of what each means to the person living with it and those who love them.

It’s honestly hard for me to find words for this book. It was so, so good. Briana and Jacob are her swooniest fake dating couple ever. I adored their feelings for each other and I loved being inside both their heads and their emotions.

Abby Jimenez will always be an author that I will always recommend. I am a huge fan since reading THE FRIEND ZONE many years ago, and her writing just keeps getting better and better.

In YOURS TRULY, I fell in love with ER doctors Brianna Ortiz and Dr Death - ahem, I mean Dr. Jacob Maddox. I love the exchanges of letters and how they both look forward to their notes. In the background there are complex family dynamics going on with Bri's brother needing a transplant and Jacob wanting to be the donor without Bri knowing. hen mix in a little fake dating trope in the mix and now there is a whole boisterous family goings on and it's just so much fun to read about.

As a nurse working in the ER as well, I am quite impressed with the level of accuracy she has conveyed in her writing which just adds to my enjoyment in reading her books. I felt really immersed into the storyline in this very powerful story.

I LOVED IT!!!

Nobody does chermistry better than Abby Jimenez - I mean, I don't even know how she's married IRL. She's like the ultimate dating texter extraordinaire. I wish she was my BFF so she could help me with my dating life text responses. Seriously, they're so good!!! I could totally read an entire book with just texting back and forth if she wrote it.

“I always think that when we’re quiet, we’re agreeing to be harmless to each other. That we’re just sharing the same space and letting each other exist exactly as we are, and neither of us would hurt or upset the other one.”
That silent agreement to be harmless to one another is the quietly powerful beginning to a beautiful love story…
✔️ pen pals
✔️ fake relationship
✔️ forced proximity
✔️ Larger then life sassy grandpa
✔️ Detailed characterization and plenty of unforgettable personalities
✔️ Adorable, heartwarming critter/s (plus a few taxidermied ones)

That's the basics, but this book is all of that and SO MUCH MORE. Yours Truly is another huge hit for Abby Jimenez!

Once again she has written one of those storylines that completely drags you in, makes you fall in love with the characters, and demands that you emotionally embrace every moment of it. This is one of those books for me. I’ve never had anyone describe so clearly the social anxiety I also face with such relatable detail. I have to issue a quick semi-serious content warning: Chronic kidney disease, divorced main character whose ex husband cheated, depression, clinical anxiety, and mention of pregnancy loss and suicide.

Despite several fairly conflicting first meetings, the title speaks the truth: this is a book about truly belonging to each other. About showing up. About being a little broken and loving every little piece of each other anyway. Even the ones we wish didn’t exist.

Abby Jimenez cannot fail! I enjoyed the connection I felt to Jacob with his anxiety struggles. Abby has a beautiful way of connecting with her audience and this book showcases that.

This book was amazing, the character development was next level. I really enjoyed the complexity of Jacob's anxiety and how I could relate to certain aspects of his life. Also, I love Grandpa!

I love these books in this series so much. They give me warm fuzzy feelings inside. :) But, that being said, this was an absolute rollercoaster before we got there! Briana Ortiz is going through a divorce and also trying to work towards a big promotion. Enter: New guy, who might actually be up for that same job. She hates him on principle but we all know how romance novels work. Immediate ship. Jacob ends up writing her a letter to explain some stuff and the rest is history. He even steps up to do a really big favor for Bri, which is just crazy out of this world. I seriously could not love this more. Abby Jimenez is a truly talented writer and I will forever read anything she publishes.

Abby Jimenez is the queen! I have not read one book by her that I didn’t love. She is a great writer and is also an auto-buy author for me. I am so grateful for being recommend to her by one of my book friends on IG. This book touched my heart in more ways than one, from the anxiety representation which I can relate to, to the MCs connection which felt so real (and much much more). I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is my first Abby Jimenez novel and I probably not my last! There are some enemies to friends and secret dating tropes, but coupled with the perfectly imperfect diverse characters. The pacing of the main relationship was a little fast, but I'm glad with the epilogue where it seems that, off the page, they took their time. Overall, a fun read that had it's moments of heart-break with main characters who readers could empathize with.

Yours Truly is the latest from everyone’s favorite Abby Jimenez. With her books, I have enjoyed them (A Part of Your World) or disliked them (Life’s Too Short). Yours Truly falls somewhere solidly in the middle, there are things I enjoyed and others that I just wanted to scream at.

Brianna is a recently divorced ER doctor whose brother desperately needs a kidney. Jacob is an ER doctor too who suffers from anxiety, he recently moved hospitals because his ex-girlfriend starting dating his brother. These two have an adorable meet cute that ends up encompassing every romantic trope possible- fake relationship, only one bed, enemies to friends to lovers.

I really enjoyed Jacob as a hero, he had his life together- he’s a grown ass man, he has a headboard, he’s in touch with his emotions. He suffers so much with his anxiety but he’s aware enough to work on it. I enjoyed his family- the sex positive mom, cranky grandpa and screaming obscenities bird were fun.

I really struggled with Brianna and how these two just needed to talk to each other. So much of their miscommunication and heartbreak could have been solved with a conversation. I usually don’t mind a slow burn but this one was too slow, I wish they had more intimacy sooner.

Overall, I can see why people love this one, Jimenez continues to tackle hard issues in romance while ensuring an HEA.

** I received an E-ARC but ended up listening to this one from my library and the narrators were wonderful. Zachary Webber is a perfect Jacob.

I received a complimentary E-ARC from from the publisher (Forever) and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book. AJ has a lot of humor and pining that I ache over but at times I wanted to shake these two for their lack of communication.

3.75/5 stars

Okay this book was just too sweet. I was soo here for the old school note writing. Can we bring that back please! Also, a fake dating trope is always a win in my books! This book had the right amount of seriousness dealing with her brother’s transplant but then the playfulness of the love hate relationship between the 2 main characters. Dual POV’s are also always a huge positive in my books I need to know all aspects of people’s feelings please.

Can we just say protect Jacob at all costs because come on like what a sweet misunderstood human being. Also, someone who also suffers from anxiety he just pulls right at my heart strings. I just love seeing people who have been terribly hurt find true happiness with people who really just treat them like gold.

What I wasn’t a fan of was these stupid miscommunication tropes.. I’m over it.

Also, I hate Amy. Period. I don’t care how they try and twist or flip that story.

Thank you netgalley for giving me an E-Arc to give an honest review.

Another amazing novel written by Abby Jimenez! She never fails to create a captivating, soul stealing, make new friends with the characters story. From start to finish I was so enveloped in this book I forgot about my family! 😆 She makes you laugh, she makes you cry, she makes you think with her stories and I love that! This one will be on my forever keeper shelf. Five thousand stars for sure!

Before I even begin with this, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would absolutely love and adore this book and I’m so happy to report that I was indeed right. This book is everything I wanted in a romance novel. It was so relatable, sincere, raw and precious.

I loved Jacob and Briana! There is something super special about watching a couple fall in love over written word. Give me all the letters, post-its, and cute texts. I loved the banter and this story. Jacob was such a swoony male lead and it was so empowering to see Briana take charge of her life. Really incredible story and loved connecting again with characters from previous books.
