Yours Truly is the latest from everyone’s favorite Abby Jimenez. With her books, I have enjoyed them (A Part of Your World) or disliked them (Life’s Too Short). Yours Truly falls somewhere solidly in the middle, there are things I enjoyed and others that I just wanted to scream at.

Brianna is a recently divorced ER doctor whose brother desperately needs a kidney. Jacob is an ER doctor too who suffers from anxiety, he recently moved hospitals because his ex-girlfriend starting dating his brother. These two have an adorable meet cute that ends up encompassing every romantic trope possible- fake relationship, only one bed, enemies to friends to lovers.

I really enjoyed Jacob as a hero, he had his life together- he’s a grown ass man, he has a headboard, he’s in touch with his emotions. He suffers so much with his anxiety but he’s aware enough to work on it. I enjoyed his family- the sex positive mom, cranky grandpa and screaming obscenities bird were fun.

I really struggled with Brianna and how these two just needed to talk to each other. So much of their miscommunication and heartbreak could have been solved with a conversation. I usually don’t mind a slow burn but this one was too slow, I wish they had more intimacy sooner.

Overall, I can see why people love this one, Jimenez continues to tackle hard issues in romance while ensuring an HEA.

** I received an E-ARC but ended up listening to this one from my library and the narrators were wonderful. Zachary Webber is a perfect Jacob.

I received a complimentary E-ARC from from the publisher (Forever) and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book. AJ has a lot of humor and pining that I ache over but at times I wanted to shake these two for their lack of communication.

3.75/5 stars

Okay this book was just too sweet. I was soo here for the old school note writing. Can we bring that back please! Also, a fake dating trope is always a win in my books! This book had the right amount of seriousness dealing with her brother’s transplant but then the playfulness of the love hate relationship between the 2 main characters. Dual POV’s are also always a huge positive in my books I need to know all aspects of people’s feelings please.

Can we just say protect Jacob at all costs because come on like what a sweet misunderstood human being. Also, someone who also suffers from anxiety he just pulls right at my heart strings. I just love seeing people who have been terribly hurt find true happiness with people who really just treat them like gold.

What I wasn’t a fan of was these stupid miscommunication tropes.. I’m over it.

Also, I hate Amy. Period. I don’t care how they try and twist or flip that story.

Thank you netgalley for giving me an E-Arc to give an honest review.

Another amazing novel written by Abby Jimenez! She never fails to create a captivating, soul stealing, make new friends with the characters story. From start to finish I was so enveloped in this book I forgot about my family! 😆 She makes you laugh, she makes you cry, she makes you think with her stories and I love that! This one will be on my forever keeper shelf. Five thousand stars for sure!

Before I even begin with this, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would absolutely love and adore this book and I’m so happy to report that I was indeed right. This book is everything I wanted in a romance novel. It was so relatable, sincere, raw and precious.

I loved Jacob and Briana! There is something super special about watching a couple fall in love over written word. Give me all the letters, post-its, and cute texts. I loved the banter and this story. Jacob was such a swoony male lead and it was so empowering to see Briana take charge of her life. Really incredible story and loved connecting again with characters from previous books.

This is my second Abby Jimenez novel and now I want to read everything she has written. Her writing is funny and heart-warming! This was a great story and I enjoyed every part of it, I did read Part Of Your World first and while you don't need to read it first to enjoy Yours Truly, I'm glad I did! I highly recommend both books! I think fans of Sarah Adams and Emily Henry would love this book!

An enjoyable read, especially if you like slow-burn romances. I always enjoy a good fake dating story, this one in particular just took the MC's extra long to give into and act upon their true feelings.

LOVED IT!!!!!!!

Author Abby Jimenez has a way of creating genuine, relatable characters that you can't help but to root for. She is solid gold at writing witty banter, and keeps you want to turn each page to whip through to the ending, but then savor the ending because you don't want it to be over.

I am always so appreciative when Forever Pub provides me with an early release copy. Abby is one of those author's you stop everything for to devour her latest book.

I think I start my reviews for Abby’s books the same every time. I didn’t think I could love any book better than her last one, but Yours Truly was amazing. The perfect romance, very well built characters that I know I could be friends with. I recommend Abby’s books to everyone I know.

I absolutely loved this one. Abby Jimenez can do no wrong in my book. Her characters are full of depth, the story lines are interesting but not too busy. I love the idea of sending letters back and forth, it made for a really sweet and at times nice and spicy book. I can't wait to read whatever Jimenez comes out with next.

This is now my favorite Abby Jimenez book.

I love fake dating and I love enemies(ish) to friends to lovers so this book was PERFECT for me. Dr. Briana Ortiz is at a really low point in her life. She's in the process of finalizing her divorce because her husband cheated on her with a mutual friend. Her brother's kidney is failing and they're struggling to find a donor because he has a rare blood type. Oh, and the promotion she wanted could be given to the hot new doctor that she *definitely* doesn't like.

I haven't read a lot of books this year that I've really loved, but this one literally had me smiling, laughing, and even getting emotional. 10/10 recommend.

*Thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing), Abby Jimenez, and NetGalley for the ARC, in exchange for my honest review.*

'Yours Truly' by Abby Jimenez takes the world of contemporary romance to a whole new level. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions that left me completely enamored, even if I had some reservations about one particular plot twist.

At the heart of this novel is Bri, a protagonist who is an absolute force to be reckoned with. She's strong, complex, and refreshingly real. Bri's journey is one of self-discovery and growth, and her resilience in the face of life's challenges is nothing short of inspiring. Her character is so beautifully layered, and it's impossible not to root for her from the very beginning.

Abby Jimenez's writing is modern, witty, and incredibly relatable. The banter and chemistry between the characters are electric, and the dialogues are so well-crafted that they feel like conversations you might have with your own friends. The humor is spot-on, and the emotional moments are delivered with such raw authenticity that they tug at your heartstrings.

The story is filled with genuine, heartfelt moments that explore the complexities of relationships and the importance of communication. It's not just a romance; it's a story about love in all its forms—self-love, friendship, and the bonds we form with family.

Now, about that one plot point I wasn't a fan of—the accidental pregnancy. While it's a common trope in romance novels, it felt a bit too convenient in this story. However, I appreciate how Abby Jimenez handled it with sensitivity and made it an integral part of the characters' growth.

In conclusion, 'Yours Truly' is a 5-star gem that shines brightly in the world of contemporary romance. The strength and depth of Bri's character alone make this book worth reading. While the accidental pregnancy element might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's handled well within the context of the story. If you're looking for a heartfelt, funny, and emotionally charged romance with a strong and complex protagonist, this book is a must-read. Abby Jimenez has once again delivered a story that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page.

Abby Jimenez has swiftly ascended to the ranks of my favourite authors. Her talent for breathing life into her characters, making them incredibly relatable, is nothing short of remarkable. This book deserves all the stars, and I have numerous reasons to shower it with praise. I strongly urge you not to miss her author’s note at the end; it beautifully rounds out the book and provides invaluable insights into its masterful construction.

I may have stumbled upon my new beloved couple in Briana and Jacob, who redefine love and dating with their unique journey. It all begins with Jacob’s heartfelt letter to Briana, a gesture every woman secretly desires from her partner. Their dynamic is nothing short of fantastic, and Briana’s empathetic approach to Jacob’s anxiety is truly commendable. Jimenez fearlessly tackles challenging subjects in this narrative, handling them with the utmost finesse.

My only tiny grouse and pet peeve in the book is the miscommunication. However, in this story, it somehow fits seamlessly and doesn’t detract from the overall beauty and humour that permeate the rest of the tale.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Abby Jimenez’s books keep getting better and better each time! I’ve read and loved all her books and this one was no different. I truly loved Briana and Jacob’s story.

Abby did an amazing job writing both Briana’s and Jacob’s struggles with their issues. I could feel their feelings from the pages. Briana was so hurt from her previous marriage and Jacob’s anxiety was so real!

I loved how easily they fit each other. I loved how Brianna spoke Jacob’s language and wanted to protect him and helped him with his anxiety in such a natural way! And I also loved how Jacob made Brianna feel safe and earned her trust after everything she’s been through. It was just the most heart warming thing to see the things Jacob did just to make her smile and happy. Their fake dating turning into real was so smooth and the side characters were just perfect. Everyone and everything in the book had a role and it played out so naturally.

I love Abby’s books, this one is definitely one of my favorites now! Briana and Jacob is one of the book couples that you just root for and want them to have their happy ending.

It was such a sweet, heartwarming story with so much depth as it is always the case with Abby’s books. She knows how to make you adore the characters and the story.

And in true Abby Jimenez fashion, it made me smile so many times. Their catch phrases were so fun, the letters they wrote to each other were the sweetest thing ever, and of course there was a pet involved in the story.

Abby Jimenez is for sure an auto author for me at this point, I can’t recommend her books enough!!

Make sure to read author’s note at the end, it made the book even more special!
