If Abby writes it, I read it (I say as I sit here currently reading her upcoming novel, Just for the Summer). I adore her writing, like many of us romance readers around here. ❤️ Part of Your World, the first book in this duology, was a without a doubt 5 GOLDEN STAR, read. I loved Alexis & Daniel with all my heart & couldn’t wait to continue getting small pieces of them in this sequel, though this one is following a more minor character from POYW (note: you do not HAVE to read POYW first, but Yours Truly does have a huge spoiler/ruins the ending of it, so I recommend doing so)!

As expected, I loved both MCs in Yours Truly, especially Jacob (my husband’s name is Jacob, so he immediately had my heart tbh 🥹). Abby just KNOWS how to write male characters. His neurodivergent tendencies, his severe anxiety, & his HUGE HEART made him so dang lovable. I don’t want to spoil, but the HUGE ACT of pure kindness & generousity that this man does for Bri & her family…. I’ll never forget it. 🥹 The man can do no wrong. As someone who struggles daily with anxiety, I so appreciated all of the genuine moments in Jacob’s life that highlighted how much it affected him. Such great representation that I’m sure is eye-opening for many. 🫶🏼

This romance had so many tropes that I enjoy, while also containing so much depth & raw relatability as well. Truly such refreshing writing!

I have to say there was one part of the plot toward the end (a specific trope, actually) that I could’ve done without/didn’t think added anything, which bumped this down from a full 5 star for me. Part of Your World is my fave of the duology, but overall, I of course recommend this adorable read!!! 🙌🏼💛

I love this author's writing style. Her books are so real and don't gloss over the harsh realities of trauma. This story deals with two doctors dealing with their traumatic issues from past relationships. Both are really serious. But the comradery and relationship between them is so fun and beautiful. The slow burn up to them falling for each other was heartbreaking. This is definitely one of my favorites of the year.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this, I stayed up past midnight to finish it and I was tearing up the last 50 percent. I typically HATE the miscommunication trope but seeing both their POVs and their individual struggles made it made sense. The anxiety representation in this book was so beautiful to read about, my own partner has anxiety and I cried through so many scenes because they reminded me of him. This was un-put-downable - I could not stop reading and I adored it. I can't wait for her next book and I think Abby Jimenez is an underrated romance author for sure!

Yours Truly was like Grey’s Anatomy as a book!! It was so fun to read and I finished it in two days. This enemies to lovers trope tells the story of two doctors who eventually fall in love after fake dating. I loved how the authors cultures were introduced and eventually intertwined. It made for a perfect romance read.

I loved this book with my whole heart! I’ve never related to a character more than I have Jacob-specifically his anxiety. The way Jimenez tells a story and unfolds a love story is truly so beautiful. I cannot recommend this book or this author enough!

Part two of part of your world and to say this book was perfection is just short of what it is! Abby has a way with story writing that is just amazing, draws you right in and keeps you invested until the last page. And make sure you have a box of Kleenex close by because this one will absolutely tear at your heartstrings

Once again Jimenez writes something so effortless and yet solid. Always manages to give you the hallmark feels without neglecting the realistic side of things. And adds a touch of magic. This couple had me laughing and swooning. The cameo appearance of previous characters was a nice touch as well.

Abby always writes fun, readable books. And Yours Truly is no different. I enjoyed this story and the many different dynamics of the characters. I am looking forward to her next read!

I love Abby Jimenez's writing but the extra drama in the latter half of her books always prevents me from loving it completely. The first half is always amazing with charming characters and romance but in the second half they end up making some out of character decisions or have some sort of miscommunication and break up. That reduces my enjoyment.

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this book and once it won Book of the Month’s Book of the Year I knew it was time to get to it. At first I thought I was getting myself into an episode of Greys Anatomy, it started with some drama, it was set in a hospital and the main character’s seemed like a good time.

I loved reading from both Briana and Jacob’s points of view. Jacob’s anxiety was a pretty major factor in the story and the author portrayed it very realistically. Briana was a real go getter and would do almost anything to get what she thought she deserved. I thought they evened each other out pretty well.

I found this an adorable read that made my heart melt. I love that it had a lot to do with anxiety, because I could relate to it more. Overall I would highly recommend this book to lovers of romance, or those trying to get into the genre.

This was my favorite romance book of 2023.

It had such an amazing anxiety rep in the male character and the support he receives is incredibly uplifting. It is something I have not seen represented in such a way up to this point and I think Abby really hit the mark with it.

Also, would it be an Abby Jimenez book without a really cute or hilarious animal? I think not! This book delivered on all of that and more.

I was laughing one moment and tearing up the next. Yours Truly will always be an absolute favorite of mine.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really like Abby Jimenez's writing. I preferred PART OF YOUR WORLD to this book. I loved the start of it and the epistolary element to their romance, which was super swoony. I loved the families and the issues Bri was dealing with. I struggled with the unplanned pregancy and how it was dealt with.

I physically couldn’t stop myself from reading. It was that good.

Abby Jimenez knows the magical combo that makes romance books unputdownable- romantic tension mixed with heartfelt moments of growth and topped with quirky and lovable characters. Jacobs’s family had my literally laughing out loud.

I hope every single romance lover reads this book - it is one I’ll be returning to again and enjoying again with all my heart.

Highly recommended

This was my first Abby Jimenez novel and I couldn’t put it down! Dr. Maddox is my new book boyfriend, sorry Bri 🤷🏼‍♀️ the romance was SO SWEET. it made my cold cold heart all mushy inside. I will definitely be checking out more of A.J.’s books!

My favorite quote ⬇️

"Say it again," he whispered.
"I'm in love with you," I gasped.
"Again."
"I'm in love with you."
He laughed, blinking at me through tears.
"This is real?" I asked.
He nodded. "It's always been real."
Ilet out a happy sob.

I didn't love the fake dating trope idea and I couldn't get behind it. However, the audio really lent itself to a great listening experience. I understand why the author is incorporating main characters with baggage and real-life trauma, but I did find it to be a bit too much for both MC's to get together despite their trauma and emotional baggage. I will read anything Jimenez writes because I think she is one of the few romance authors who incorporate emotionally vulnerable men. I just hope she uses a different trope than miscommunication and fake dating.

Dr. Jacob Maddox is gobsmacked when he first lays eyes on Dr. Briana Ortiz. The first time Jacob sees Briana, she is in the room of a kidney patient. Jacob soon learns that the patient is Briana's brother Benny, a young man experiencing kidney failure.

For Briana, her first impressions are quite different that Jacob's. When she first saw the handsome doctor, it was because he ran right into her and Briana was less than impressed. Also, Briana was undergoing a lot of stress. Her marriage has ended due to her husband's infidelity, she has suffered another great personal loss, and she is very worried about her brother.

Interestingly, Jacob and Briana begin exchanging letters, and Briana slowly begins to drop her barriers. Two things rather immediately change the course of their growing friendship, which turns into a relationship neither expected. Jacob is a match for Benny, and his brother is soon to marry - to Jacob's ex-girlfriend. Jacob does not want to attend the wedding alone, but he comes with a loud, loving family, and he won't be able to avoid his brother's wedding. So, Briana agrees to be Jacob's fake girlfriend for a few months.

This romantic story faced serious issues - relationships after cheating, serious physical illness, even Jacob's issues with anxiety - and it was all done remarkably well. This second book in the Part of Your World series by Abby Jimenez was a really good read, especially when you consider the author's note at the end of the book.

Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

Overall, I enjoy Jimenez's novels but this was probably one of the weakest for me. There were a lot of elements to like - the letters/notes being a strong one - but something about the way their relationship developed, involving the kidney donation, just didn't work for me.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
