I don't think this is a book I can use in the classroom as an educator,. I found myself wishing for narrative, as the epistolary convention became a bit tiring., However, I am confident that many would find this a super interesting book.

I'm always interested in memoir and this one had an interesting structure. Unfortunately this story felt very navel-gazey. I found the last section to be the most compelling, but in spite of my interest in relationships I didn't care deeply for the major players.

"We Are Too Many" is the story of betrayal where it hits the hardest. Pittard's unique writing style and short, at times bullet-like chapters, provide nuances in a way straight narrative might not. Recommended to anyone interested in memoirs and/or unique writing. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Wowee. What a read. Sometimes hard to read, knowing that someone actually went thru this.
Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book for the purpose of this review.

Memoirs are one of my most favorite types of books to read. I read them a lot! I was looking forward to We Are Too Many because of the topics of marriage and friendship. Hannah Pittard does an excellent job with the structure of this story. It's set in various timelines and goes back and forth between conversations with the people closest to her. This style of writing really made me feel like I was "in" on her life and invested in what would happen. I'm giving it four stars and would suggest it to others that enjoy this genre.
