This was my first Sharon Sala book and it maybe my last. I was lost in the shear number of characters introduced in Don't Back Down and while they all played a role in the storyline, I don’t think they all NEEDED to. It led to a very surface level understanding of the character and it didn’t allow for the main characters to show their depth. The plot was decent and I guessed the Boss pretty early on. Overall, others seem to enjoy the writing style, so I would encourage folks to read the series and decided for themselves

I have read several books by this author and I am never disappointed. In this book Cameron is on the hunt with his gorgeous dog to try and save his niece. It was a thrilling ride from the get go and I turbo charged through it because I was so excited to find out the conclusion. The characters are down to earth. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Don't Back Down By Sharon Sala I love Sharon Sala. Her books are always fast paced and entertaining. Don't Back Down is another example of romantic suspense at it's finest. Rusty and Cameron are pretty steamy. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Amazing first book in series. Sharon Sala, never disappoints and this one was definitely a winner. You have everything, romance, a good suspense and gotta have some twists to keep us on our toes. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

One of the things I loved about this book was that the couple got together without a lot of stressful back and forth. They knew they loved each other and went for it. That can be rare sometimes when it comes to romance in books. The story itself was interesting and well written. A definite recommendation if you like a mystery thrown in with your romance.

Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

Don't Back Down is the third book I have read by Sharon Sala and I am pretty confused about what I feel about her writing style. While reading this book I thought I had once again started a series midway until I saw on Goodreads that this book is the first in a new series. I guess I like it better when authors take time to build a backstory to their plot and characters (especially in a series) instead of jumping right in the thick of the action. The book was fast paced and it covered a lot of different story threads but it all seemed rushed and Cameron Pope and Rusty (Faith) Caldwell's 'one night stand' as strangers five years ago turning into a 'she/he is my soul mate love story' was far-fetched.

I received an e-Arc of the book from the publisher Sourcebooks Casablanca and the author via NetGalley.

I love the start of the Jubilee, Kentucky series by Sharon Sala. The people and mountain of Jubilee are introduced in the story of Cameron and Rusty, which was romantic suspense at its finest. I loved the pacing of the story along with the romance and characters.

Sala creates a wonderful story which has a lot of twists and turns, and intertwines characters. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

It started with a bang which kept my attention all the way to the end. It started with two lonely people who met by chance and had sweet one night stand and never learning each other’s names when the soldier left for his tour.
It was the the strangest, brutal, assault, and the kidnapping of Cameron’ niece which brought him and Rusty together again. Cameron manages to save his niece from death. Rusty was tasked with this case by her FBI boss, sending her to the mountains of Tennessee where Cameron lives. They meet again after five years to their delight. He offered to help Rusty out with the with Rusty’s boss’s approval because of his military’s high clearances. There were twists and turns but I was able to follow. There were many characters in this novel but they were easy to catch on. There are some triggers which are assault, kidnapping, human trafficking and so forth. The ending was great too. I closed the book with a sigh of content. It was a fast past and very enjoyable Ghost, Cameron’s big dog, was one of my favorite characters. I wouldn’t mind reading the next book in this series. High four stars from me!
A big thank you from Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for letting me read this ebook copy. As usual, all reviews are my own opinions without any influence from publishers.

I have always loved this author's romantic suspense. So I was eager to dive into Don't Back Down. This is the first book in the Jubilee, Kentucky series. This book is Cameron and Rusty's story. I had a lot of fun reading this book. The action and suspense had me riveted to the page. I was kept guessing as to who was behind the trafficking. It didn't go in the direction I was expecting.

What I loved more than the overall mystery were the characters and the relationships in the book. I adored Rusty and Cameron as a couple. I loved their story and there was literally no angst or question that they would be together. They complimented each other. I also enjoyed Rusty's relationship with her family. Her cousin did have to grow on me, but I was happy how her storyline turned out in the end. I also loved Cameron's family. His niece was adorable. I loved how Rusty fit right in. I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I highly recommend this one!

Wow! Wow!
A very handsome and sexy soldier and the beautiful agent working together on the kidnapping… Not just any kidnapping, the soldiers, niece… And not the first time these two have met each other… They had one steamy night years ago, were no names, addresses, or any other information was shared… Yet they appointed each other’s dreams for all these years

It's hard to do justice with a review to such a great story from one of my unicorn authors.
Military Veteran Cameron Pope and his dog Ghost are main players in this story. A story of family, hope and love revolving around such an ugly crime happening on their mountain...human trafficking!
Pope's sister is frantic, she's been hurt in her home and her toddler is missing. This is the beginning of this crime being discovered. The FBI come to town and the Agent and Pope have a history, fate is determined to bring them together.
This was such a well written story, awesome plot and such heartwarming characters.
I loved every moment.

There is just something about how Sala writes and her character’s’ relationships that is unlike any author I’ve read. The chemistry and down to earth humanity with every character makes the story so relatable. I also just love second chance romance; that a past love or interest come back for their happy ever after. Rusty and Cameron’s was pure fate. After meeting years prior and ever knowing the other’s name they reunite to help solve a human trafficking case. This novel was stellar and the suspense riveting! And I love how Sharon always has her characters drinking coca-cola 😉

Don't Back Down by Sharon Sala A fast paced, romantic suspense with with a perfect couple in Rusty and Cameron and a scene stealing dog, Ghost, who is a hero in his own right. A great start to a new series.

This book will hook you from the first page, and it will not let you go until the very end of the book. In-between, this story will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Rusty Caldwell, an undercover FBI agent, who is recovering from injuries she received on her last case, meets Cameron Pope, a soldier who is leaving the next morning for Iraq. They have an instant attraction toward each other, so they decide to spend the day together.

Since he is leaving the next morning for a second tour of duty in Iraq, they decide not to reveal their names. However, by the time they awaken the next morning, they are madly in love. Since then, they have never forgotten that day and wish they had a way to find each other.

Rusty’s next assignment is to visit Jubilee, Kentucky, undercover, as she investigates an unusual amount of women who are missing in this area. She is very delighted when she discovers that Cameron lives in Jubilee. Cameron is also ecstatic to find Rusty is visiting his home town. They discover that their love has not faded!

Meanwhile, the FBI has already discovered the depth of Cameron’s work in the military. Thus, they decide to recruit him to work with Rusty on this case. He willingly agrees. Cameron and Rusty work very well together while they investigate this major problem. They accept each other’s strengths and treat each other as equals. And best of all, they are able to separate their personal relationship from their working one.

This book has a complicated plot that includes a lot of action and extremely riveting suspense. Along with her clues, the author includes many red herrings to confuse the readers as they try to figure out what is going on.

I highly recommend this book!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing to read this ARC.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the suspense and it kept me wanting to keep turning and not put it down. I loved all the backstory and characters and how everything flowed.

Rusty and Cameron are the true essence of swooniness. I love how the story starts out with them first meeting and knowing he was going off to war. That it took years for them to aee eachother but they both knew in that first meeting that they completed eachother. They are both badass in their careers in the FBI and in the military serving our country.

Read to find out how they work together and take down a bunch of bad guys, the craziness that entails and how they are together.

Romance Suspense may be my new favorite genre.

Definitely add this to your list.

It's been a while since I read a book by Sharon Sala. This was worth the wait.

A riveting story about true love, family, and commitment blended with mystery and suspense. Although it dealt with human trafficking the handling of the issue was not graphic. The characters come alive under the author's description and situations unique but rooted in reality. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Although I received a free ARC eBook all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Stories about retired Special Forces and their canine partners are always one of my go to genres. This book did not disappoint. Heavy on the romance and suspense but light on the explicit sex scenes the story was satisfying and I enjoyed reading it. What I especially liked about this book was the absence of "angst" that so often can be found in a story of an ex military man. Though combat fatigue and PTSD are real, not having this addition to the story made it light fun. For a quick, light read this does not disappoint.

This book reminds me in a lot of ways like Sharon Sala’s other series, Blessings, Ga, except this was more romantic suspense and not just small town stories. It does take place in another small town,Jubilee, Ky and I hope there will be more stories from this town. Ms Sala’s writing feels very similar with her storytelling; the way she weaves the people of the town into the main story line. This particular book starts with a female FBI agent who 5 years earlier had a one night stand with a soldier boy she never forgot. She is sent to Jubilee to help with a kidnapping, and human trafficking and is told a native of Jubilee will be helping her. This turns out to be her soldier boy. From there we get a fast paced romantic suspense story that kept me glued to my seat. Another great read from Sharon Sala.
