Oh, how I loved this book!! My only complaint is that it's too short;) Even with that, the characters and their relationships shine through, and I feel in love with them! There are plenty of laughs, tears, spice, and adventure that made this the perfect book for me! Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

3.5 Stars

This is the 3rd book in the Beck Sisters series, however it can be read as a standalone.

Carla Black is in her late 30’s and has been nomadic as long as she can remember. She lives her lie forward, never glancing backward. From a young age, her father, Biggie, would take her on journeys to national parks, exploring and camping just the two of them. Now that she is older, she continues this travel solo. She secures bartending jobs to secure enough money to fund her next adventure, and then she is off in her faithful Jeep, moving from one place to the next, largely to escape the cruel reality behind her, that her beloved father Biggie is deteriorating at home from Dementia.
Biggie is a proud man, he does not want Carla to see him suffering. Accordingly, he encourages her to go, and they Skype weekly when possible to catch up on each other's lives. Carla learns through Biggie's girlfriend Stella, that Biggie is deteriorating quickly.

Off on her next adventure, to her best friends wedding in Ireland. She is picked up from the airport by Eamon, the best man and the brother of the groom, with the goal to drive to Tralee and help with the wedding prep. What happens instead is…. INSTALOVE! I am normally not a fan of instalove, however I feel it was borderline ok in this novel. We see naked dreamy pond sex, bulls drunk on sangria, sheep roadblocks and dancing in the moonlight. There were plenty of Instagram perfect moments, moments of pure passion, and a couple of people genuinely enjoying each others company.

A highlight for me was the relationship between Carla and her father Biggie. It was really sweet and genuine, and it was really sad to see the toll his disease put on hie relationship with his daughter, and what he himself must have been going through.

Eamon was a perfect book boyfriend. He was caring, funny, smart, patient, selfless, charismatic and caring…. I mean… c’mon!

This book was easy to read, easy to enjoy, gentle soft reading. If you love romance like I do- give this one a chance <3

Late review - I loved this one so much I immediately sought out her other work. What a fun romance and boy did it make me want to travel!

I always like Trish Doller’s atmosphere setting and character development. Her characters are never one dimensional and always exhibit growth. This one just missed the mark for me because the instant in bed scheme feels ehh to me and so right from the get go it wasn't my favorite.

Loved this one. An adventure full of fun and steamy chemistry with a chef's kiss ending. A huge fan of Trish's work and this one did not disappoint.

This was a cute book but I felt it was rushed. While I loved Carla and Eamon, I felt it was more of an insta-lust and not a believable love story. There was not really much of a lead up to their relationship.

Thank you St Martin Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley. All thoughts are my own!

I absolutely loved this story! I really enjoyed reading about Carla Black finding love. I thought this book was a little short but only in the best way. I just wanted to read more. I really liked Carla Black she felt like a real person that I would have met on a traveling trip. I also loved her character development and her journey to understand her emotions and feelings. I think a lot of people can identify or relate to her. Eamon Sullivan was such a hunk. I really liked that Carla and Eamon were opposites in some ways. However, I really like that Carla reminds Eamon to have adventure in his life.

Carla Black has been traveling and running from her emotions since she could remember. She works endless during the busy seasons so that she can travel a bunch in the off seasons. When her friend Anna is getting married in Ireland, Anna tells her to meet up her fiance's brother at a bar. In the process, Carla and Eamon hit it off. They decide to go on some adventures before the wedding. However, even though there might be love between them. Will Carla be willing to feel her feelings and acknowledge them for what they are or will she leave Eamon in Ireland?

Content: Open door scenes, abandonment, and swearing (f words)

So this cover is the main reason I wanted to read this one (shh don't tell anyone)

Off the Map by Trish Doller is Book #3 in the "Beck Sisters" Contemporary Romance Series!!
Characters:
Carla Black travels the world in her Jeep, avoids serious relationships, and never returns home - all out of choice.
Eamon Sullivan is a digital cartographer who seems to have lost his way after getting dumped - not out of choice.

When these two strangers meet up in Dublin for a wedding for friends/relation, sparks fly, and their chemistry is through the roof instantly!!

Carla and Eamon were not my favorite couple in the series, but they did grow on me though. I enjoyed reading to their playful banter, and I understood their serious, complicated sides once their backstories were explained. Their individual family dynamics give noticeable texture to the story and reveal the uniqueness and differences between the Black and Sullivan family structures.

The topic of Alzheimer's is handled realistically and with sensitivity in this story. I cried so many of tears at the end of this one due my Aunt having Alzheimers so I related to this one a bit more knowing the struggles.

Although Off the Map isn't my favorite of this series, I did enjoy the connection between Carla and Eamon, and I do recommend it to all who love Rom-Com's with the door wide open. Although each book is a standalone story, I recommend reading this series in order as you won't regret it!!

I am giving this one 3.5 stars!!

Overall: it’s easy to read and enjoy!! I highly recommend to romance lovers like me!!

Special thanks to NetGalley & St. Martin's Griffin for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts!!

I enjoyed the first two books in this connected series by Trish Doller, so I was thrilled to get my hands on Off the Map. These are the types of romance books I crave - love stories with depth and heart. I'll definitely keep my eye out for more from this author.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for sharing this book with me. All thoughts are my own.

Unfortunately I found this book very enraging, so although I read it very fast it was not a winner. The MC was VERY much giving 'not like other girls' - congratulations, you know how to fix cars, doesn't mean women who don't are stupid!

She was also incredibly condescending as a traveller, particularly irksome considering 90% of her travels were in her own country.

The love story was also ridiculous, sure they had chemistry and he was hot, but they knew eachother for 4 days and then they were in love.

One extra star because it was a quick read.

I love it!! Even though it is a fast-paced book, I still enjoy reading it. I'd love read another book from Trish Doller.

Great story. I’m a sucker for a good rom com. This had it all. The back and forth. The angst and spice.

I pushed this off because no one writes about grief like Trish Doller and this book was no different. She manages to tell light hearted stories set against a background of simmering grief. I loved it so much and as usual, I have come away from the book with a renewed sense of wanderlust.

If you are a fan of instant attraction, good banter, and rom coms, this is for you! There is complicated family dynamics and Alzheimer’s representation that can be comforting to read, but also be a trigger for those with family members who have or do suffer. All in all a lovely read and really enjoyable!

I hate to say but this was my least favourite in the series. I couldn’t connect with the characters like I was with the others in the previous books. It was rushed in spots, and I thought that it could have taken a few more pages to get all the context out. There are some heavy TW/CW so be sure to check before reading.

I love Trish Doller and the Beck Sisters romance series! This is not my favorite trope - the insta-love is always hard for me to get into, however, the characters and story did grow on me. I loved their banter. I loved seeing where things went and I loved reading about Dublin! Thanks so much for the ARC! (Based on other reviews, I may give this another spin and listen to the audiobook - I've heard the accents are spot on! That being said, I've requested it from the library :))

This book was way too cringey for me. The main character, Carla, was very unlikable. She annoyed me so much. This book made me realize I like a slow burn in a romance. These two jump right in to the spice and it was just not it for me. Very hard to finish.

The cover and title caused me to request this one. I was unaware that it was a part of a series! It is ok as a standalone, but would have been better had I read the first two. Adored the Ireland setting and enjoyed this one!
