I’m something of a newcomer to the world of Danielle Steel, but I’m quickly becoming a fan. This book grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go!

Worthy Opponents by Danielle Steel
In my eyes, this author can do no wrong. She’s been one of my all-time favorites for as long as I can remember. She’s created yet another great story of life and overcoming circumstances and obstacles. Throw in a strong female character with determination to continue a family legacy, some romance and suspense, it’s a no brainer. Read the book.

Another great novel by Danielle Steele she created a story of life and overcoming obstacles. A female character who is strong and determined to do the best she can to continue a family legacy.

The day after Thanksgiving is excellent for lounging around in one’s pajamas and reading a book. This is precisely what I did, and my pick was the upcoming release by Danielle Steel, Worthy Opponents.
The story follows Spencer Brooke, CEO of her family’s department store. The story begins when she is a little girl and how the department story came about. Spencer goes on to learn the business inside and out and is a bright, strong woman. I liked her quite a bit because she wasn’t hiding her intelligence and independence.
As with many businesses currently, hers is having some financial issues. When she considers the prospect of outside investors, enter the leading male character. While you may know where the story is heading, it was written well, and Spencer holds her own; she by no means is a helpless woman looking to be saved.

Spencer Brooks is running her grandfather's business, which is a luxurious department store in New York City. Mike Weston wants to transform it into a bigger business. Spencer needs an influx of money, but knows that she will lose control of the company if Weston's investing company steps in. She turns him down without even meeting with him. However, bad luck happens and she may not have a choice.

Steel is an auto-buy author for me. Romance is expected, but she always has a deep story that the romance is embedded in. I very much enjoyed the story in this book. Spencer was an independent woman who wanted to take her store in a new direction after she took over for her father. She knew she needed an influx of money, but didn't want to lose the company to Mike's. Steel always has independent women and storylines where these women have to rise above hardship. They are always well written.

Loved reading the engaging and captivating story. Brooke is a single mother with twin boys and in charge of her own exclusive fashion store. Because of unforeseen events, Brooke needs to find a new location and may need to take advantage of the handsome investor's, Mike's, offer. Read the highly. recommended, wonderfully written, captivating characters, and a riveting storyline.

I love family saga books that go down through the generations, I think this is where this author does her best writing. And this book was no different… I absolutely loved.it

This is my first book by Author Danielle Steele. It had me from the first page to the last. I love the characters in this book. Spencer and Mike are wonderful people. This book has it all. Romance, trials, friendships, growing of characters, heartwarming read. Spencer is a very strong, admiral, young woman. Must read. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book by NetGalley and I am freely leaving my review.

Another winner by Danielle Steel! I have been a fan for 40 years and have read every book! She always tells a great story and has likable characters. Endings are predictable but sometimes we need to read books like that. I always save her books for an easy read on the weekends. My love of reading is because of authors like Danielle Steel. Wonderful book! I absolutely loved it! It had romance in it and was suspenseful! I really enjoyed this book. I would night recommend this to everyone!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Ballantine for allowing me to read this book good and give my honest opinion. I have read nearly every Danielle Steel book. This was one of my favorites. Spencer is a single mother of twins. She runs a very elite and luxurious store. The store has a storied past, being opened by her grandfather before her father takes over. The store is in a bad part of New York City. They need an influx of money to rebrand or to move the store. Enter Mike. He is known for taking stores over and making huge hits. This book was so good. I would recommend.

I love me some DS. I enjoyed this book and so happy I was able to get this book via Netgalley. I love the drama between the characters and outcome.

Daniel Steel does it again! This book is about love, starting over, friendships, and business partners! Spencer is third generation of a small specialty department store. She will do anything to keep the store going in the same location as her grandfather. . Mike Weston is an investor know for transforming small businesses into successful ones. Mike offers Spencer an investment opportunity which she quickly turns down., but After a series of setbacks Spencer feels she has no choice but to take a deal with Mike . A great, contemporary love story that takes place in New York. Great characters as well as great character development of the main characters. I loved that Spencer was portrayed as a strong independent woman. Spencer and Mike were great characters. Both were family oriented, hard working and compassionate people.

I really liked this book. I liked how Spencer wasn’t afraid to hold her ground, to hold on to the legacy of her grandfather. I like how Mike came up with an agreement in the end that worked for both of them because he loved her and he wasn’t thinking about the money. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.

“Worthy Opponents” is a worthy read and sure to be a pleasure for Danielle Steel fans. The story centers around Spencer, a single mother driven to love and protect her family's legacy, an exclusive boutique in New York City. As she faces challenge after challenge, she comes into the orbit of Mike, a wealthy investor who is in a loveless marriage and is captivated by Spencer. I read this book in one sitting, not because I had nothing better to do, but because I really wanted to get to the end to see how it would all work out for the characters I had come to know and care about. I would have liked there to be an epilogue for a year later, but with these particular characters and their families, a sequel would be wonderful. Hint hint Danielle Steel.

I’ve been a fan of Danielle Steel since the 70’s. This is my 48th book I’ve read of hers. Being this book is 256 pages, I devoured this book in a single day. This book is about love, starting over, friendships, business partners…I loved it! Spencer runs a very luxurious department store that she inherited from her grandfather many years ago. She runs into some trouble but being the smart business woman she is, she tries to work things out. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this before publication which will be March 2023.
