The sequel to American Queen was no disappointment. It kept up with the drama and intrigue and kept me wanting to read more and more. Can't wait to read the rest of this series and see where it takes us!

Embry is Vice-President of the United-States. Ash is his President, lover, best friend and military comrade. This is about their relationship with Greer, and the battles they have to fight in the political world as well as behind closed doors.
This is book 2 in the New Camelot Trilogy, told mostly in Embry's POV. The entire series is clearly based on King Arthur's legend. I liked Embry better in the first book. The past timelines and flashbacks were not interesting to me. The spice and the chemistry were great.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

American Prince is book two in the American Queen series by Sierra Simone.

I loved American Queen! And this was no different.
Such a magnificent second book in Sierra Simone's steamy, intrigue-filled romance trilogy.
This story is a glorious obsession of love, lust, power, mercy, & earth shaking love...
There is political intrigue and drama which ate the hell up.
I will read anything she writes. And absolutely love it.

So I’m going to leave this review like this for now and jump straight into book three American King.

Embry, what happened to you? I wouldn’t say I like how Embry was portrayed in this book. When he got entangled with Abilene, I was like… ok, that is lame. And Greer is like a sex doll to me in this book; she gets forgotten? Nothing she did in this book is meaningful. Knowing I read erotica, I still feel overwhelmed and tired of reading all the sex scenes (would you believe that? I'm an avid smut reader, but even then, I felt exhausted). The placement of the sex scenes was questionable in my opinion haha... I ended up skipping A LOT… and when it ended up in another cliffhanger, I was like… holly molly… it goes down there 😆

Thank you NetGalley, the Publisher and the author, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review

Army captain and a Vice President. Emory Moore has been in love with two people in his lifetime, his best friend and president Ash Colchester and the woman they both love, Greer Holloway. I love that the author gives us glimpse into the past, their past decisions, their past relationships and how and why things progressed as they did. How they're lives have been changed by these decisions. At the end of the first book Greer and Ash were married, and then spent their wedding night just the tree of them, the triangle of love. Then Greer is kidnapped, and the book takes off as they try to keep her safe from the Carpathian President Melwas. Emory's story is filled with love, heart break, sacrifices he's made along the way for his country for his friend. A steamy love story of his two forbidden loves. Will they be together when the fire settles, or will the lies and betrayal tear them apart forever? I have voluntarily read and reviewed this excellent story.

**I would like to thank NetGalley, Bloom Books, and Sierra Simone for an ARC of this book! This is now available as of 2/1/23!**

I will break from loving him, I think. I will split with it, burn with it.

This book picks up from the cliffhanger we were left with in American Queen. I know we aren't really reading this book for the plot, but the whole kidnapping scenario just wasn't written/executed very well. But again, that's not why we're reading the book lol.

We mainly get Embry's POV with a few of Greer's sprinkled in. The main focus of this book was to give an insight to Embry as well as the history of him and Ash. I wish towards the end of the book, we had a few more of Greer's POV. These stopped happening at the time that I thought they'd be most beneficial.

Either way, the smut was great, as always. Sierra Simone did a great job of showing us how ugly and unlikeable our characters can be, but also making you fall in love with them. I was hurting right alongside them while also wanting to smack some sense into them.

I'm glad I have the third book so that I can jump right in.

I’m so glad I get to read the three books in this series back to back because the cliff hangers are just *whew*!

Embry has been the most intriguing character to me in the series so far, and I really loved seeing things from his POV in American Prince. I liked that the chapters alternate on different timelines and include some chapters from Greer’s POV particularly in the first half of the book. Some of the sex scenes in this series are outside my comfort zone with the level of violence (although it is consensual) so I found myself skimming some of that content. I’m looking forward to diving right into book 3 to wrap up the series!

I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Before reading this, there are TW fof SA and many more! Search up the TW before reading this trilogy. I really enjoyed the thrill in politics involved in this book that I rarely see in other romance books that are done successfully. This book has a good ratio of spice spice as well as plot and its a dark romance too.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Sourcebooks for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The second installment of the New Camelot Trilogy by Sierra Simone picks up at the cliff hanger of book one (thank god because what a cliff hanger that was). And shows the next stage of the throuple's relationship as they navigate the political waters of Greer's family and Maxim's presidency.

I loved this book but at times I hated this book. I loved the characters as a poly relationship but getting this book from mainly Embry's POV was kind of a challenge because disregarding Maxim thinking it for spicy fun reasons- Embry is a brat. It broke my heart to ready how he treated Maxim (Ash) at times but I am glad he did because as the character is written, Ash and he would not make it. Embry is short sighted and bratty and is the cause of so many of the issues this relationship sees. There were points that I was glad Greer and Ash had one another just because they both knew how it felt to get their hearts broken by the same man.

There was also a lot of political thrill and action in this book which I fell like was a diversion from book one but I loved it. I liked seeing the backstory of Ash and Embry even if Embry was intolerable at times

Embry Moore!!! I love this man so much!

I just absolutely loved reading Embry's story and furthering the American Queen storyline.

Sierra Simone does the best job of giving us the best sort of erotica with the perfect amount of plot. Like she does the BEST job.

This book gave me the best twist and turns and OH MY GOD moments that I can't put into words how amazing this is.

I can not wait to continue the story with the next one.

My biggest things with this book (besides the unrealistic politics) is that it's sort of a dark romance, but it's not such a crazy one that you're always remembering that, but when crazy stuff happens, you remember, yet it's more off-putting than if you had remembered this in the first place. I think we all need to acknowledge that while this series is fun, it's also crazy lol. I probably liked this more than American Queen, but I'd attribute that to Embry, not anything else. Would I reread this? Probably, but more for entertainment than enjoyment. I wouldn't consider reading it a negative experience, though.

This second installment in the trilogy is absolutely incredible and thoroughly absorbing. To say this is a "wild ride" would be a vast understatement. It is super spicy...emotional...infuriating and also delicious. I do recommend reading American Queen before reading this because the enjoyment factor will be much higher if you know what is going on in terms of the characters and plot. I literally cannot imagine what will come our way in the third book next, but I am SO here for it!

I am keeping this review brief because the books in the middle of a trilogy are hard to write reviews for. I don't want to give any thing away.
But good lord, this went a completely different way than I anticipated. Not predictable AT ALL.
And it is so hot,.I did loved some characters, hated some others. Disagreed with some decisions and admired others. This story is so well paced and detailed.
If this part of the story threw me for a loop, I can't wait to see what American King brings

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

CW: BDSM, dom/sub, consensual non-consent, kidnapping, threatened sexual assault, rape/reproductive assault, unintentional incest, death of loved one, grief, depictions of war/battle, homophobia, gunshot wounds, blackmail, attempted murder, gender essentialism, death of spouse (past)

This is the second book in the series, you must read American Queen before

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

-MFM Arthur kink retelling
-love triangle
-plenty of angst
-political intrigue

The second installment of the series dives a lot more into the backstory of Ash and Embry. The plot moves at a breakneck speed and you can't help but keep turning the page.

Steam: 5

Thank you Bloom Books for the advanced reading copy via NetGalley, receipt of which did not impact my review.

American Prince, book two in the New Camelot series, focuses more on Embry Moore’s story. Embry is the current Vice President of the United States and is in secret throuple with the President, Ash, and First Lady, Greer. The book starts right where book one (American Queen) ended and I’m not going to say more than that because spoilers. There were more scenes in this book that made me feel uncomfortable than book one, which is the reason for the lower star rating. Be aware that there are both consensual non-consent scenes and r*pe (not on page, but you hear about it afterwards.) The story beyond the explicit scenes continues to provide interest and intrigue, and I am looking forward to seeing how the trilogy ends!

I am so invested in this series it’s RIDICULOUS. First off, I need it to be known that Embry Moore is a national treasure. It was so nice to get a bit of his side of the story in this book. The events of this book are INSANE and so suspenseful, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and flew through the book to make it to the end. The chemistry and tension among the three MCs continues to be absolutely delicious and enthralling that I can’t help but want more and more and more. Once again, I’m struggling to write this review because I’m desperate to get on to the final book!

I was given an ARC by NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS BloomBooks. All opinions are my own.

OMG this series is going to break me. We get the full (?) backstory from Embry on his love for Ash and Greer. And it is heartbreaking and beautiful how much he loves them both and how much he's sacrificing and lying to protect them. And OMG THE ANGST! Between Embry and Ash and Greer and Embry and the three of them; I can barely handle it. Plus it continues to be scorchingly hot hot hot.
I have no idea how this is all going to end up (we know the whole Arthur tale doesn't exactly have an HEA). But OMG if these 3 don't end up happy it will break me.

4.5 stars
