#CatsDontLikeChristmas #NetGalley I love this book for two reasons, well maybe three. Cats, cats, and loving your cat! What a sweet and understanding way to explain how overwhelming Christmas can be for our furry friends! Please pick this one up for Christmas and give it to a child!

Miss Seven says: "It's great and perfect and brilliant. I love that in the end the cat has to admit [spoiler]. I like the drawings, I like the rhymes, I like everything."

My review: this is a great festive kids book that will make you smile and laugh. Terrific drawings bring a really good story to life. The story itself 'scans well' and has a good rhythm for easy re-reading (not always the case with rhyming tales). A well-crafted, very good tale.

Any cat owner ( or to put it more accurately, anyone who is owned by a feline!) would love this fun, festive picture book with its bright illustrations and references to typical, sometimes infuriating, cat behaviour. I recognised similarities with my own two moggies attitudes and the story made me smile. I personally love Christmas but just like the cat in this story my pampered pets have a love/hate relationship with the holiday. Great fun, this amusing story has won a place on my Christmas bookshelves.

This is a cute story about Christmas from the point of view of a cat. Not text heavy at all and told through rhyme, this funny book will surely be enjoyed by all but especially the cat loving kids you know. The illustrations are wonderful and funny. A great addition to holiday book collections.

Cats Don't Like Christmas! by Andy Wortlock is a delight to read. The prose has a lyrical quality and I can't wait to read this out loud to my niece. The illustrations by Nahum Ziersch are a perfect complement to the text. There is a fun little activity for readers to try - find a hidden mouse and yarn ball on each page. I also liked how real and accurate this book is in its depiction of cats vs Christmas. In fact, I believe all cat parents must have a copy of this book as a cautionary reminder to ensure that their holiday celebrations are pet-safe. I'm excited to find out that this is the second book in a series - looking forward to reading the first book, as well as the activity book and any subsequent sequels.

My son and I read this for bedtime. He has a cat, so I thought this would be fitting. He loved it. I loved the graphics as well, great illustrations and quite funny. We related to all these cat problems lol My son especially loved the little seek at find at the end of the book. All around wonderful Christmas read that the kids will enjoy and want to engage in.

I received this book from NetGalley and the publishers to read and review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.

I love this book, and I know kids will too! Every cat owner knows what chaos Christmas decorations can bring! In this story, told from the cat's perspective, the humans are the problem, they brought all this new stuff in and expect him not to climb the tree? With large but expressive font choices will draw the reader in and with only a few short, rhyming lines per page it will be relatively easy for young readers to read independently. The illustrations are great and the writing is funny and really well done! I would definitely consider purchasing a copy for my classroom library and will be recommending this one for readers in the age 4-8 range! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this fun book!

This is a delightful children’s book about a cat who thinks cats don’t like Christmas, and, who demonstrates why cats don’t like Christmas through several adorable pictures.

And now I’m giving away the ending : it turns out that cats DO like Christmas, at least the one in this adorable book does.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley.

This is a funny and pacey rhyming picture book all about Christmas from the point of view of a cat. As a cat owner, I could relate to many parts of the book and found it very funny, I'm sure children would love it! The illustrations are colourful and fun and fit well with the words in the story. I love the hidden character on every page as an extra activity as you read!

This is a cute holiday picture book about why cats hate Christmas! Or do they?

The illustrations are darling and perfectly capture cats' general grumpy nature. This book celebrates the festivities of Christmas, which is everything a cat hates apparently (except the Christmas tree!). A wonderful rhyming story perfect for any children's library!

Thank you to NetGalley, author Andy Wortlock, and BooksGoSocial publishers for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review. This is one I will be adding to our Christmas children's book collection!

Thank you NetGalley and Splash Books for a copy of "Cats Don't Like Christmas!" in exchange for my honest review.

This book is perfect for children in preschool or kindergarten. It is full of wonderful, colourful illustrations with a very cute cat.

The cat doesn't understand the changes in the house - all the decorations, the tree - he can't sleep from all the twinkling lights, all the extra family that arrives and all the noise. In reality he admits that he really loves Christmas.

Who doesn't love grumpy cats and their dislike for human traditions? :) Brilliant illustrations and great humour! A book not only for the Christmas season.

This book was adorable! I read it with my daughter, who adores cats, and she especially loved the rhyming and the illustrations.

Two of the things that make the most happy are cats and Christmas, so this children’s book was made for me. I loved the poem and the twist at the end. The art was very cute and fun. I especially loved the cat climbing the tree portion of the book. If I had kids I’d totally read this to them. I think this would be a great addition to any children’s library, but is too young for my students. I’m very glad I read this. It brought joy on a rainy day.

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

I actually kind of regret getting this book through Netgalley, because it's ARC status affected my enjoyment of the story. Some of the text was scrambled in the version I had, which sometimes happens in ARCs, but when it's a novel, it's easy enough to figure out exactly what it's trying to say. This being a book for young children, there weren't enough words on each page to easily figure out what was going on before moving to another page with the same problem. I think I would have actually really enjoyed this rhyming story if I didn't spend so much time trying to figure out the order the words were actually supposed to go in.

The illustrations were not affect by this book being a review copy and the were fun and silly, bright and colorful and would definitely appeal to children. They were definitely a highlight for me all things considered.

Overall I give this book 3.7 out of 5 stars because unfortunately that scrambled text just really ruined the experience for me, but I think I would have enjoyed the book without it.

An absolutely delightful, Christmassy read for cat fans! Full of attractive, engaging pictures and a humourous, rhyming story this would be a lovely addition to any young readers (3+) collection. The story is super cute and the detailled pictures mean this book just begs to be reread time and again. I can see this becoming a firm favourite in many feline friendly homes this festive season!

This is such a cute and festive read! I’m a sucker for anything with animals and add in Christmas and it’s the perfect read for this season.

The illustrations are absolutely adorable. The story is really cute and funny, I my favorite was the page with operation Christmas. Just all in all a perfect book to get the kid in your life for Christmas.

The added bonus of the little game within the story, finding the mouse on every page was such a cute extra.

This was a cute read for the holiday season. Great for cat lovers! My kids, 8 and 4, enjoyed it but I would say this book targets more of the 2-5 year old range. Thanks for the story!
