I read this book immediately after finishing the first two books in the series. The other two were amazing, but had a lot going on and were kind of hard to follow. This one was wasn't as convoluted, and was just as fast paced and attention grabbing. I just love Gretchen's personality and humor, and there was no shortage of that here even without the Gretchen/Marconi banter. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Gretchen and Lachlan and how it all played out. It was an emotional read with a couple twists and a great ending. Fingers crossed this will not be the last book! I think there might have been a little hint that we'll learn more about Fred, which would be amazing!!

This book is part of a series (book #3) it would been helpful to read the other two first, but this was still an enjoyable book.

I love the characters and their relationships

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the advanced copy of this book. This book is part of a series so I do recommend reading those before this so that you have some background of the characters. I read the first two books and loved them so much that I had to read this book. Gretchen and Marconi have such a complex relationship throughout all the books and I enjoyed learning more about Marconi's past as I read the book. Gretchen is such a different and unique character that you can't help but love. I love how straightforward and blunt she is. I felt for Marconi all throughout the book. My heart just hurt for her. I did feel like the story dragged a bit but the twists and turns of the storyline were not predictable in my opinion. I hope this is not the end of the series. I would love to read more about these characters in future books.

I started this book without reading the first two in the series and felt like I was missing key pieces of information so went back to read books 1 & 2 first —- while each book is about a different case there’s so much history and nuance between the main players that I would definitely recommend reading them in order.

Gretchen & Lauren have worked on several cases together and forged an unlikely friendship and partnership, which is why Gretchen is surprised when Lauren lets herself so clearly get caught for murder. The evidence seems damning, but as she begins to unravel the relationship between Lauren and the victim and Lauren’s past as a cop in Vermont, it becomes evident than this was a confrontation years in the making — and Lauren isn’t the only one who would want to see the victim dead.

Twisty, gritty, and compelling until the very end. I love Gretchen and hope this isn’t the end for this series!

Brilliant writing. Strong characters Andre all very interesting . Was a little hard to figure out the characters but once I did the story just flowed. Great read for anyone who likes unordinary people.

The ending made me so sad, but only because I’m worried I won’t see this fantastic duo again.
A few years ago, Gretchen became the character I didn’t know I needed in my life. Love her. And then Lauren grew on me. See It End was a great collaboration between the two, explaining a lot about Lauren’s past. I don’t want to give any details that would be spoilers, but I didn’t see any of this coming. Great story, and I hope they are together again.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the copy of See It End.

I truly enjoyed this book and will be reading more from Brianna Lubuskes.

The main character, Gretchen, is likable and interesting. There were many characters that were a little hard to keep straight. It may warrant another read just to make sure I’ve got it all straight.
I plan to go back and read in order, this is worth it.

Dr. Gretchen White is a criminologist deals with a murder of which Detective Lauren Marconi is accused. As the evidence mounts, Gretchen believes it is not Lauren, who has the expertise to get away with a murder.

She has to work with Lachlan Gibbs with Internal Affairs (and Lauren’s boyfriend) to try to discover the truth, but his combative nature does not make it easy.
As with any investigation, secrets reveal themselves, including a long obsession with the victim, making her doubt her initial instinct.
She knows that not everything is as it seems, and with Lauren’s future at stake, uncovering the truth is more important than ever.

Thank you NetGalley for the pre published copy of See it End!

3.5 stars - I loved the first two books in this series and couldn't put them down, but the third dragged a bit. Learning more about Marconi's past was somewhat stale despite the traumatic backstory, and Gretchen and Lachlan's dynamic was almost too emphasized and I had to make myself finish the book just to see what happens. I still recommend the first two!

Brianna Labuskes ~ WOW… just WOW!

Descriptive, eloquent, and so much continued mayhem!

From our first introduction to Gretchen and Marconi to the most recent “See It End”, this series is phenomenal and I hope this will not be the last we hear of Dr. Gretchen White and Lauren Marconi!

Highly recommend!

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for providing me an advanced copy (ARC) of “See It End” in exchange for an honest review. I am grateful to have had the opportunity and leave my review voluntarily.

This book was amazing!

Apparently this is the third book in the series, however, you do not need to read the other two to enjoy this book. The author did an incredible job in making this book a pretty good stand alone.

The book goes back and forth between two timelines and it was done to perfection! Dr. White is as interesting as she is brilliant! The way the case develops and you get the story is masterfully done. I can't imagine the planning that had to go into writing this book.

I was reluctant to put this book down once I started it, and when I had to put it down, the story and mystery and intrigue stayed with me until I could continue reading it. It was one of the best books and stories I have read in a while. One in which you didnt figured out the whole story in the first chapters, and that even when you thought you had it, another part of the story would be revealed and you would be back to square one.

Absolutely loved it and you should definitely read it!! Now I'm on to reading book 1 and 2!

I received this via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for this advance reader copy of See It End.
What a great read! I simply couldn't put it down after reading it along with my morning coffee. Had a few late starts to my days because of this book.
The psychological ups and downs with Gretchen trying to get into the mind of Lauren was quite interesting.
This was my first exposure to the Dr. Gretchen White Series and, needless to say, I will definitely be going back to read the first two.

Arc from netgalley

This is the 3rd book in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the first. Was mediocre about the second and sadly the same on the 3rd. Not to say this wasn’t bad. I was interested in the plot line. It just didn’t grab be as much as the 1st. Solid 3 star book

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for the copy of See It End. I love Gretchen because she is such an intriguing character and in every book I keep wondering if one day she will snap! This book started out a little confusing because I had trouble keeping all of the other characters straight in my mind. As the book went on, they started to become more clear and now I have to read the book again because the story was amazing and complex. If you haven’t started this series yet, start with A Familiar Sight and read the series in order. You won’t be disappointed!

Well! This is one of the best books I have read all year. With an amazing twist that totally shocked me....Well done. The relationship between Marconi and Gretchen was brilliant. Gretchen's story was so good, I would love to read more and am definitely going to read the rest of Brianna Labuskes' books. I love her style of writing. A highly recommend read.

I really enjoyed the conclusion to this series! As always it was fast paced and keeps you guessing until the end. I liked that from the beginning of the series to now you can see the progression of Dr. Gretchen White, she is definitely an interesting character and I enjoy reading from her perspective. I would recommend this book to others.

Why would someone who could get away with murder confess to a murder they didn't commit?

This book moved! Great character development and (SPOILER maybe) Gretchen is a sociopath and not the one we are investigating or being accused of slaughtering animals or people. It shows, in a way, that those labeled as such can be respectable members of society if given the opportunities and guidance in finding their path.

There are funny bits within the story as well...Gretchen has to work with a partner she hates, which in some instances, becomes hilarious.

This book was well developed with a few great twists. I read it in one sitting (stayed up late and wanted to ignore the alarm for work the next morning). This is a great cozy in for the evening spring read.

Thank you Thomas & Mercer & Net Galley for the review copy.

A cold-blooded murder. A confession. And a mystery that’s just beginning in a shocking novel of psychological suspense by the Amazon Charts and Washington Post bestselling author of A Familiar Sight. Criminologist Dr. Gretchen White thought Detective Lauren Marconi could never cross certain lines. Then Lauren, with fresh blood on her hands, is arrested for an execution-style slaying. Even as the evidence mounts, Gretchen is convinced she’s innocent. Because Lauren would have known how to get away with murder.

Absolutely loved it, another great book featuring Gretchen and White and Lauren Marconi. Fantastic story that is gripping and suspenseful. Love the development of the relationship between Gretchen and Lauren along with Lauren's boyfriend Lachlan. These characters grow wonderfully as each book progresses and I really like spending time with them. Was on the edge of my seat right until the end as I could not work out who the killer was, very suspenceful stuff. If you have not read any of this series you really should, highly recommended

Jeez, Louise.......

See It End left me all tangled up. Like the heavy-duty undertaking of folding fitted sheets. No matter how you think you've got a definite process, there's still gaps and lumps and bumps under that material. But, miracuously, it all straightens itself out in the end. Ready for your shelf.

There's been a murder. A female cop is involved.

Dr. Gretchen White, psychologist and criminologist who works with the Boston PD, is startled when the passenger door of her sleek Porsche is yanked open and Detective Lauren Marconi is sitting white-faced next to her. Lauren has blood splattered on her shirt and more under her fingernails. The only thing she says to Gretchen, "I did it. Don't investigate." Out the door in seconds.

And within hours, Marconi is arrested for the murder of Owen Hayes. Hayes has been under Marconi's radar for over eight years for some dastardly business that Marconi can't prove. Even the head of the Boston PD Internal Affairs, Lachlan Gibbs, thinks that Marconi is guilty. And he's been Marconi's love interest lately. Internal Affairs trumps affairs of the heart.

But Gretchen is not one to tiptoe out of a room. She's determined to find out exactly what Marconi was in the midst of regarding Owen Hayes. Marconi is too smart and calculating to let herself get caught even if she committed the crime. Gretchen admires intelligence. No one even comes close to hers. And you'll find out more and more about Gretchen herself.

Now back to those fitted sheets........Brianna Labuskes writes in such a way that she has us talking out loud to those printed pages. And then, the dialogue is brilliant with spots of humor here and there and some trial-and-error thoughts by these characters laying out practical approaches and who dun it suppositions. I loved that. You can master those fitted sheets if you have enough folding room. The determined tucking and folding will eventually get you there. And "there" is quite the jig-jag in its conclusion. What a ride!

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review. My thanks to Thomas & Mercer Publishing and to the talented Brianna Labuskes for the opportunity.

WHAT I LIKED:

+ Gretchen is a diagnosed sociopath. I really enjoyed this factor because she was the one solving the crime instead of committing the crime. Most often, the sociopaths and the psychopaths are the ones that people are trying to catch not the one that is solving the crime. It was an interesting take on the story to see Gretchen try to figure out what happened and using her diagnosis as an advantage instead of a hinderance. In many ways, it humanized those who have similar diagnosis. They are still human, even if they process differently.

+ Dual Timelines. They told the story through Lauren Marconi (Read: Macaroni) perspective in the past, more specifically in the days leading up to the crime and through Gretchen's perspective as she tried to solve the crime in the current timeline. Dual timelines can be tricky to achieve, but Brianna Labuskes masterfully navigated her way through both timelines; dropping subtle hints as she went.

+ The Suspense was suspensing. I really had no idea, up until the last few chapters of the book, who actually committed the murder. I couldn't figure out if it was Lauren or if some other convoluted plot had occurred that just put Lauren in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even when I did figure out who it was, the how and the why kept me turning the pages until the very end.

+ Fast-Paced. Now when I tell you this book hooked me from the first line, I kid you not. Homegirl was thinking about slicing some poor guy's carotid artery during their date. I've been on a boring date or two myself in my day, but sheesh ma'am! Pump the brakes a little! The story took off running from the first word and didn't stop until the end. I appreciate stories that can hold my attention, because it is incredibly short. Think: small squirrel with ADHD. If you can't get to the point in as few words as possible, I am GONE. I have to be in the mood for a slow-burn.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

I don't really have anything to say here. I genuinely enjoyed everything about this book. The twisty plot, the sarcastic characters, the banter, everything was brilliantly written.
