Like everything Margaret Rogerson writes, this novella is emotionally moving, full of twists, and surrounded by excellent worldbuilding.

I've read that Margaret Rogerson, a favorite author of mine, has struggled a bit with working during and after the pandemic. She wrote this book partly to help her get past her difficulties. I'm glad it seems to have worked (?) and look forward to more from her.

This book is a pleasant piece of fluff. It's mostly about the vibes. Elizabeth and Nathaniel are stuck inside Thorn Manor because of some strange magic so they are forced to be served magnificent breakfasts, read through the massive library, and have some cute dates. It's not too horrible to be cooped up in Thorn Manor, actually.

Elizabeth and Nathaniel's relationship moves forward and actually takes a giant leap at the end that I didn't love. But it's definitely a romance trope.

I love this little book, im glad we get to get a little bit more from these characters! I wish it was longer, i need a whole series of them please!!!

I absolutely love this follow up to A Sorcery of Thorns. Margaret Rogerson is one of my new favorite authors, and I am so glad to have been introduced to her. I am happy to have had more of the story and character growth wrapped up in Mysteries of Thorn Manor. While I think that the first book was stronger, I do appreciate this addition. It was magical, and I loved returning to the world Rogerson built. I'd have liked to have more world building into the history of grimoires, sorcery, and demons, but I was satisfied with the focus on the characters. Silas was my favorite character in the first book. I'm now on a kick to read the other novels that Rogerson has written! She has such a refreshing addition to fantasy that I devour her books.

I've been meaning to read Sorcery of Thrones by @margaret_rogerson for years. After falling in love with An Enchantment of Ravens, I decided to add it to my top TBR for 2023. I just finished it two days ago and immediately picked up the sequel novella, Mystery of Thorns Manor and I didn't disappoint! It's still as magical as the first book, but even fluffier. The perfect book for a sucker for cozy fantasy. Low stake but mysterious enough to keep you turning the page. Honestly, I can't get enough of Nathaniel, Elisabeth, and Silas.

Fun little novella following the aftermath of the Sorcery of Thorns. I was hoping to know more about Silas but this novella just shrouded him in more mystery and intrigue. He really needs his own story! It was nice to be back in the world and I always love seeing Elisabeth being her sword-wielding badass self. The story is more slice of life as the characters learn to heal and move forward with their lives. I recommend for fans of Sorcery of Thorns. The novella doesn’t stand as its own complete story in my opinion. It feels like a gift the author gave to her readers! 😊

This delightful novella of an epilogue left me so incredibly happy. I can't believe it took me so long to read, but it's a sweet little treat of a story. It definitely needs to be read after A Sorcery of Thorns though!

This was such a good little novella! I’m gonna need another five or ten books with this cast of characters but for now, this works!

I really like this novella, which is somewhat of a sequel to Sorcery of Thorns. I loved witnessing the minor hardships Nathaniel and Elisabeth suffered, how they overcame centuries-old curses to be together, and how they put on a magnificent winter ball.

For those of us who adore this couple, it actually tends toward fan service, but I have no complaints at all. Additionally, thanks to this story, I was able to learn a little bit more about my favorite demon, Silas, and experience a lot of the romance that wasn't permitted in the previous book.

It's a charming, uncomplicated tale with excellent morals.

3.5 I adored Sorcery of Thorns and when I heard there was a sequel out I did a reread and ordered Mysteries of Thorn Manor. Unfortunately, and completely my fault, in my excitement I did not pay attention to the fact that it was a novella. I tend to avoid novellas because they just make me crave more of what I can't have; and this was no exception. I have no regrets reading Mysteries of Thorn Manor and it showed more of the relationship between Thorn and Elisabeth and the magical house they are living in. I think the house alone could have a book dedicated to it? I wanted to explore more of the hidden rooms and history thriving in the house. There was a lot alluded to in this novella that were not answered (anyone else feel a love interest for Silas made an appearance?) Their story as a whole did not seem ended within this novella. This is definitely a must read if you loved Sorcery of Thorns!

This is the sequel to Sorcery of Thorns. I really like that we got to connect with the characters again. The story was very fast-paced and thrilling. I like how she expanded on the world-building. Thus, it was a very sweet story! I think Margaret Rogerson is my go to author!

Really great to return to Thorn Manor! Loved this novella and the expansion to the world. I love that I can never tell where Rogerson is heading with her narratives, they're so inventive.

Sooo cute! I was pleasantly surprised and really quite thoroughly enjoyed this foray. I want more of this world!

Margaret Rogerson writes cute YA that often borders on juvenile. I enjoy this world and think it's fun but it's not at all deep. I didn't connect with it as much as I hoped but I think it's a good book for teachers, librarians, and parents to recommend for kids that want to read YA but want something that stays entirely within a YA range in terms of violence and romance. Not my favorite, but a good choice all around.

Diving into the Mysteries of Thorn Manor, I did not realize that it was a continuation to Sorcery of Thorns. I’d admit that it was a bit confusing to follow at times, but overall, it was a pretty decent read. I’ve read Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson and was captured by how well the writing was, so I was not surprised when the writing in Mysteries of Thorn Manor was also written well.  For the characters and their chemistry, it feels like the relationship was developed between Nathaniel and Elisabeth in Sorcery of Thorns because reading the two, I was bale ot pick up quickly how involved they were. I really enjoyed their sweet banter between each other and the carefree way they show affection not each other.

In regard to the plot, I was pretty intrigued. A manor closing itself suddenly from the outside, leaving those inside no way to leave. Throw in some deadly fighting topiaries, dangerous weather and other shenanigans and you are in for an adventure. It was definitely an interesting concept. I enjoyed following Nathaniel and Elisabeth as they try to figure out how to stop the manor before it causes harm. When it came ot the pace of the story, it started off well but then felt rushed towards the end.

If you plan to dive into this story I’d highly recommend you read Sorcery of Thorns first to get a better understanding of the characters and have overall better context.

I always get excited when I see a novella follow-up for a book I loved! It gives me a chance to revisit the characters I fell in love with in the first place! One novella I am especially excited about is Mysteries of Thorn Manor, a follow-up to Sorcery of Thorns!

This was a super cute "extended epilogue" in the Sorcery of Thorns universe! Elisabeth and Nathaniel are so swoonworthy, and having this be about their romance is definitely heart melting. We saw our favorite characters from the original book as well, Silas is an incredible character as ever.

A nice quick little sequel to A Sorcery of Thorns. It was nice that Elisabeth and Thorn are really forced to figure out their relationship. Though I feel like the “engagement” at the end was a cop out in how it was handled.

Silas and his sarcasm of course made this all the more enjoyable. And learning he was the one that made the house go into attack mode to speed up Nathaniel’s love life was a stroke of genius.

For such a small book, it took me a looooooong time to finish it. Not sure what I was expecting but this was a miss…

Sure, it’s good to catch up with them after the events of book 1 but it just felt like a lead up to that ending which feels like another door left open.

Maybe we’ll get another novella? Who knows…
