This was hands-down one of the most enjoyable romance books I've read in a while. My first experience of a Kathryn Freeman story and it did not disappoint!

It seems to take me forever to read this but for the first time ever I wasn't complaining, as I never wanted this book to end. The characters are perfect (bar that annoying best friend!), and the plot completely absorbed me.

The cover seems like this is going to be a complete cheese fest (sorry!) but it really wasn't. I enjoyed this from start to finish and really recommend it. It'll be going on my list of books to gift at Christmas.

[Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]

This was a DNF for me, unfortunately. I can see the potential in the story, and the idea (and cover!) are super cute, but alas, I got stuck at about 30% and couldn't make it past it.

Harry is in need of a place to stay. His ex refuses to move out of his house so he decides that he is leaving. Sally has a spare room and her friend’s boyfriend had a friend needing a room to rent. Harry comes and visits the room and decides that he likes the room but not the decor but soon accepts and he moves in. He does not understand Sally’s obsession with RomCom’s and one night after they have had a few drinks they decide to recreate a famous scene from a movie that Sally has just watched. She videos it in case she needs to sue him if it goes badly wrong. However it is a reasonable scene and they decide to post it online. Following the success of the post they recreate other romcom scenes and post them. They say they are doing it as friends and to entertain people and earn some extra money. What they do not realise is that they are falling in love with each other. With Harry saying he does not believe in love, will they have a future together or are they destined for hurt.
This is the first book I have read by this author and also the first romance book I have read. I did like it but it is not really my genre. I would however highly recommend it as it is well written and is very funny at times.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for access to this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was so cute. It was an amazing rom com that makes every hopeless romantic believe in love and happy endings.

I loved this book! As soon as I read the 2 main characters were called Harry and Sally I almost couldn't believe it. The title kind of gave it away, but there were SO MANY romcom references, my little heart almost couldn't take it. I loved it all, the opposites attract, the build up, the troubled soul, the protective friend, the short breakup in between and the big romantic gesture that wasn't that big but still make me all sappy: I'm here for it. I'm a sucker for these kind of books and Kathryn Freeman nailed this one. Would highly recommend!

DNF. It took me about a month to get 30% in. Love the premise and the idea but something about it wasn't hitting for me.

If you love your romcoms then Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner by Kathryn Freeman might be the story for you.

I initially requested this book because I love the take on the title and the cover, if you have watched Dirty Dancing then you will understand why. 🥰

When Sally lets Harry ( yes another romcom mentioned - When Harry Met Sally) to be her new lodger, they start making iconic romantic movie scenes together on TikTok and the videos go viral.

I loved reading all the mentions of the romance movies and reading Harry and Sally’s take on the iconic scenes. It made me want to binge watch romcom movies.

It was the perfect blend of romance and comedy all rolled into the one book. I did however find the characters to be stuck in this time loop of decision making which made the middle of the story slow, other than that I enjoyed this romantic comedy novel.

Thank you @netgalley , @onemorechapterhc for the digital copy of Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner for reviewing purposes.

A book where you go from one sort of feeling to another laughing in bits and sad in bits.

Harry moved into Sally’s flat as a lodger. Sally is into her romcoms and feels that life would be like this. Sally and Harry end up videoing parts in romcom films to make money he does not believe in love or romance.

I enjoyed the book could not put it down and the ups and downs of the relationships. You kind of knew the ending which was good.

This was a solidly *cute* romcom. I read it on a lake trip, which felt very fitting because it was very much a beach read - light and fluffy and fun, but probably won’t stick with me forever. The third act breakup was predictable. Although it didn’t go down the exact way I thought it would, and the protagonist mostly understood that it wasn’t the love interest’s fault, but if anything that honestly just made it more confusing? Like they essentially breakup because he doesn’t have the exact same view of love and relationships as she does, and isn’t ready to say I love you after two months, which all seems very reasonable to me. This + a few frustrating minor characters knocked it down a star or so, but it could be worth a read if you’re a fan of the genre and will enjoy references to romcoms both classic and modern.

This was such a cute rom-com! I loved the idea of recreating famous scenes and going along with the characters to complete them. It was a lot of back and forth between the two main characters, Harry and Sally, but lots of twists and turns make for a fun story!

Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner is a sweet romantic comedy. Obviously, it's full of references to classic films of that genre. It's also packed with a healthy dose of wish fulfilment. Heck, the hero Harry is even compared to Chris Hemsworth at one point. That's me all in! In all honesty, it's so sweet I got toothache a few times. But Sally (yes, really) is an easy girl to get behind. If you want a light read to take you away from real life, with only a dash of angst, this is your book. It's enjoyable but in the same way as a Biscoff cheesecake. Bloody lovely, but too much could make you feel ill.

I was very excited for this book the premise was so interesting to me unfortunately this book was just okay for me I enjoyed the plot, the characters, and the romcom references but none of that was enough. although the romance was okay I wish it was a little more thought out and not so insta love/lust. I did love all of the rom-com references and it made me so excited to watch some romcoms.

thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest revoew.

With a title and cover associated with one of my favourite movies, Dirty Dancing, I had very high expectations going into this book.

Kathryn Freeman totally nailed it. I loved these 2 characters, Harry and Sally. I loved their story. I loved the tiktok romcom recreations - so fun! Freeman somehow wrote this book without it being the slightest bit cheesy.

I think I had a dopey smile on face throughout! I love my romcom movies and loved this book.

Read first chapter and couldn't get into the story. There was a lack of anything to grab my attention, but perhaps the audio version would have been better suited for me, personally. Will not be sharing any review on social media platforms.

Heartwarming story that was very enjoyable. The characters were cute, and had a good relationship with themselves and each other.

This was such an interesting read! I found myself so engrossed in the story, the characters had such incredible arcs, and I can't wait to follow this author's journey!

I had such amazing high hopes for this book because I am a huge romcom fan but I just could not get into it. The chemistry between the characters is great, the recreation of the famous moments is fun and their names are literally When Harry Met Sally which is my fave. However, i did not like the characters all that much and I dont think we got enough of their backstory to make their behaviors make sense. I just wanted to yell at them to be different, which didnt help my love of the story. I do think people will like this book, it just fell a little flat for me.
