Nobody Puts Romcoms in a Corner gave me ALL THE FEELS. This book is any romcom lovers dream! Harry and Sally had such great chemistry and fell in love instantly. This book is such a fun take on#grumpysunshine.

Sally is the ultimate romantic and Harry is a non-believer when it comes to love. Sally and Harry are flatmates, but one drunken night and one romcom iconic moment reenactment later leads them to go viral on TikTok. To keep their fans happy, they continue to reenact famous romcom scenes with their own hilarious twist. Will acting like a man in love turn Harry into a believer?! Checkout Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner February 27th!

When Harry meets Sally, take 2!

This is a delightful, endearing, sweet and funny rom-com that made me laugh, smile and cheer. I absolutely loved the characters and have now become a huge Kathryn Freeman fan and can’t wait to read her back list. If you’re looking for a book to lighten your mood and put a smile on your face, this is it.

I am utterly and hopelessly addicted to Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner!

From the absolute opposites of Harry and Sally to the amazing romcom reenactments, this book was sweet and sexy all at the same time. Seeing Harry grow as he navigates his blossoming feelings for Sally is adorable and the way Sally and her ever optimistic heart fiercely loves everyone around her make me know she'd be an awesome in real life best friend.

I found myself wanting Harry to wrap me in his arms, wanting to be Sally during their reenactments, and most importantly, found myself cheering for both main characters throughout the entire story.

This is a fun easy to read book. It’s not perfect but it has charm and unlike so many books claiming to be a romance it really tries to stick to the chemistry between the characters and doesn’t get lost in boring sidetracks. Also both characters are genuinely good, maybe too much so, instead of being obviously incompatible which is another complaint I often find in this genre. Sally is the hopeless romantic who does not let allow real life sadness get her down but is she holding out for an unrealistic idea of love? Harry is the perhaps too jaded guy who very much is not looking for love. It’s not really fair to say opposites attract here as he is far too kind to really be a an unavailable love interest. They have fun banter and sparks, although the plot setups might seem a bit forced. There is a bit too much of the forced block between them with her not believing they have a chance because he does not believe in the happily ever after. They can both be too kind which is grating when they’re taking advantage of. But overall the pacing is good and it’s a fun read. The steam level can get a bit graphic in one scene but for the most part there is a genuine effort to have the characters fall for each other even if sex is mentioned a lot. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was attracted by the cover and title. The two MCs are called Sally and Harry. Sally is a hopeless romantic who loves romcom films. Harry is a cynic who, due to his personal experience, doesn't believe in love.

The main idea of the story is good, but the conflict of the story is solely based on Harry's Ex. That's too little for me and made the resolution feel over the top.

The writing didn't exactly gel with me either. Granted, I read a review copy. Which means it might still have some errors and the final format isn't used yet. But there were scenes where one person was suddenly replaced by a different character altogether, which made me reread paragraphs and hence took me out of the story more than once.

When I first saw this book I wasn’t sure what to think. As cute as the title is, I think it really does this book a disservice. Even as a romance lover (especially romcoms), I judged this book as too cheesy and ridiculous based purely on the title. Which was a mistake!
Instead, this was an adorable romance about two people learning the realities of love together, through ridiculous ‘romcom moments’. Loved it!!

Very cute story of flatmates acting out iconic rom-com scenes and posting them online. I could actually picture myself scrolling TikTok and coming across these.
I thought all of the different friendships and family relationships were fleshed out, but I did think something was missing with Harry's and his mom's relationship. It felt like they both reconciled with everyone they needed to, but that was left hanging a bit.
I also liked that there wasn't a big miscommunication fight that can be solved by talking. Yes, they needed to talk, but it was about realizing what each other needed and wanted, not a secret coming to light or something.

I really loved this book if you are a ROM com fan make sure you add this to your list of books to read for next year. This book is funny, adorable, a little predictable, heartwarming and sexy. There are some steamy moments in this book. I loved the characters and knew what would happen before the ending. But do you know what that's ok. It brought me lots of my favourite romcoms reinacted with hilarious consequences and I just throughly enjoyed it.

Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This made me want to watch so many romcoms with all the references tucked inside of it!

Harry and Sally (I know right) are the grumpy sunshine couple in this romance filled with romcom mishaps and cheesy scenes. I liked Sally’s backstory so much.

The middle was a little long, and I didn’t love the miscommunication trope, but happy endings all around!

Thanks to @netgalley for an advanced copy of this book!

Loved this book!!! I really enjoyed the throwbacks to romcoms from various decades. The story between Harry and Sally was so sweet it kept me from wanting to put the book down. It had just the right amount of twists and turns in the story to keep you wondering what would happen next. Such a fun book to read, thank you!

This book was super cute and cosy. I adored Sally the main character, her persona was so lovely and bouncy! I also love rom-coms so I was sold from the beginning! I thought the plot was really sweet and I thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine x grumpy trope... Harry was the best male main character, and I found his sarcasm and humour very funny. the plot was well executed - just enough chemistry and tension to keep me hooked! this has made me want to read more of Kathryn Freeman’s novels! I would definitely recommend this to my rom-com lovers! I’ve also found movies to watch as they sounded good! My only con was that the miscommunication was slightly annoying but it all worked out in the end 😌

Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner is a cute story with a silly title. When Harry and Sally met he had recently broken up, his ex refusing to move out, so he found temporary lodgings with Sally. Sally is a romantic at heart, looking for The One, but Harry is more cynical about the whole love thing in general and romcoms in particular. A video of them replicating a famous Meg Ryan scene goes viral on Tiktok and they decide to make some money re-enacting more romcom scenes. There is physical chemistry between them that they are initially wary to act on, as Sally believes in happy ever afters and bells ringing and Harry thinks it would only end badly. His parents aren¨t on speaking terms and they interact with Harry in a demanding, negative, critical manner. Sally has family trouble of her own as her younger sister is drifting aimlessly and expecting Sally to finance her life. Harry and Sally both have to figure out that love is verb and Harry has already been showing his love by supporting her in various ways.

I enjoyed the story overall although I thought Harry and Sally dragged their feet a little long after both had realized they had a bit of a crush on the other. There is a lot of entertaining dialogue and the romantic climax was very sweet. The third act breakup was initiated by Sally and I thought it was her turn to do some grand romantic gesture to get them back together but in romcoms it's nearly always the guy showing up with the speech, so... It is well edited and written in third person narrative.
I received a free copy and this is a voluntary review.

Ever since I picked up my first Kathryn Freeman contemporary romance, I have been looking forward to whatever she writes next. Her newest "Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner' doesn't disappoint. Sally and Harry (of course a nod to a famous rom-com) are the lead characters in Freeman's newest novel. Sally is a romantic, and Harry is gruff, cynic who doesn't believe in love. The two end up as roommates, and one night on a dare, they re-enact an iconic scene from a famous romantic movie. Quickly the two become social media stars, and continue to build their following by re-creating iconic scenes from other rom-com movies. Freeman writes Sally and Harry's relationship development so well. They have great chemistry and great banteyr throughout the novel. This was a an easy, enjoyable read. For those who live contemporary romance/rom-coms, this is for you. Freeman's novels are set in England which is a bonus. Maybe there will be an audiobook available. Would be fun to hear this story being told in a British accent! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Looking forward to my next Kathryn Freeman novel!!

I'm pretty sure that romcom fans will find Kathryn Freeman's book good fun. I also suspect that I'm not in its demographic. I loved the fact that it's written in the past tense (what is it with the current crop of present tense novels?) and enjoyed the characters. But it didn't wow me.

This is a cute story & a quick read. It's definitely towards the fluffier/cheesier end of the spectrum and it's hard to imagine these scenarios really coming about - characters' motivations are pretty thin & I particularly found it unrealistic that Harry would go out and rent a place to leave his ex (who cheated on him) living in his house... . but if you just let go & decide to go along on a little romp through the history of rom-com movies, it's kinda cute. I would recommend it to rom-com addicts/aficionados but overall would say it's just OK.

I love romcoms and I loved this book. It was realistic, perfect, and beautiful. The cover is so fun. Can’t wait for what’s next from this author.

This was an easy 5 stars for me. I loved reminiscing about all the classic rom coms it revisited and the journey it took the main characters on. It was just so unashamedly romantic and cheesy in all the best ways. I’ve never read anything by Kathryn Freeman before and I can’t wait to make my way through her other novels now 😊

3.25 stars

Do you love all of the classic romcom movies - When Harry Met Sally, Bridget Jones' Diary, 10 Things I Hate About You, etc? If so - you will enjoy Nobody Puts Romcoms In the Corner.

When Harry moves in with Sally (see, romcom in the making), they end up accidentally making a romcom tik-tok, that's more com then rom, that starts to go viral. They decide to capitalize on their fame as long as possible and soon Harry and Sally find themselves not only recreating the classic romcoms but smack dab in their own romcom.

Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner was a light hearted, easy romcom read. Harry and Sally were both enjoyable characters and their love felt real. Thanks, Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

What a fun, entertaining book. It never disappoints when a book is related to Dirty Dancing, and the reenacting of iconic scenes was a great idea.

Sally was a bit too literal with her romantic aspirations, and that was the thing that annoyed me a bit.

But overall a very good read!
