This title and the Dirty Dancing lift on the cover was enough for me to pick this up from the beginning. I love love loved Harry and I just wanted to hug him. Sally annoyed me a tad which is why this is three stars but together they were great. The friendship in this book also gave me Happy Place by Emily Henry vibes so if you enjoyed that one, I can see you liking this too. All in all, I had some issues with the MC but I did enjoy this book.

I honestly wanted to read this one because I love Dirty Dancing and the cover says it all for me! There were a lot of laugh out loud moments that were super enjoyable. I had nostalgic vibes almost the entire time with the movie scenes. This is definitely a book made for rom-com lovers! So good!!

Meh. First off I did not like that their names were Harry & Sally. It just felt very unoriginal to me. In a romcom i need very witty banter, sexual tension and steam and I didnt get any of that with this one. It was a miss for me sadly.

Oh my god I LOVE this book!!! This book had so many levels to it. Complicated family ties, generational trauma, social media influence, AND romance. Harry and Sally are so complex, truly human. It wasn’t extremely spicy anything, yet what we did get was gooood. I literally couldn’t stop smiling or laughing throughout this whole book. I highly recommend it.

This fabulous book has just jumped into my list of best books of the year. Kathryn Freeman writes the most wonderful sizzling chemistry between characters and the sexual tension between Sally and Harry just leaps off the page. Add in a clever plot along with smart, witty and funny writing and you have an absolute winner.

Warning: will cause you to binge watch classic romantic comedies long after you finish reading!!!

Book lovers and fans of romantic comedies, run to get your copy of Kathryn Freeman’s Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner. It is the perfect pick me up read and is guaranteed to leave you swooning. An added bonus, it can easily be consumed in a single sitting as you won’t want to put it down!

Sally, a hopeless romantic, takes it upon herself to convince her jaded roommate, Harry, that love is real. The two recreate the lift scene from Dirty Dancing and post it on social media after a drunken night. Unbeknownst to them, their video goes viral on Tik Tok. With social media fans asking for more videos, Harry and Sally decide to recreate other scenes from popular romantic comedies. What started out as a fun night, quickly turns into more.

What you see is what you get with Freeman. The title, cover, and description perfectly sum up this book. It is super fun to spot all of the classic romantic comedy references. As an avid viewer I was able to recognize most, but it did turn me on to a few new ones.

Special thanks to Netgalley and One More Chapter for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

DNF at 38%.

I do not think this book is for me. I can see the charm and the cuteness factor here, but ultimately the characters felt very one dimensional, and I struggled to connect to them or the story. The writing felt simplistic and immature and the good amount I read, felt like a chore. This book is getting great reviews, so this is an outlier opinion. If you have been wanting to read it, give it a try.

Thank you Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. Firstly, I liked how the main characters names were taken from the romcom ‘When Harrry met Sally’. I found Sally’s character really endearing as she worked hard to support herself and her little sister Amy. Furthermore, I bet a lot of people can relate to Harry’s opinion on love as his parents have a really rocky relationship. I liked how the book is modern and incorporates TikTok into the plot, as this is how Sally & Harry’s romance starts to blossom.

For lovers of Romantic Comedy films, "Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner" is the perfect book. Sally, the heroine, and her friends are also huge fans of romcoms and frequently reference them. Sally, a coffee shop owner, needs a room-mate to help pay her bills, and Harry, who is dealing with an ex-girlfriend who refuses to leave his house, needs a place to stay. When they meet, Harry thinks Sally is a little strange, but he agrees to live with her on a short-term basis.
The book is filled with humorous romantic comedy scene re-enactments, as well as a grumpy man who doesn't believe in love living with a woman who wants the whole package of love, marriage, and family. The story is entertaining and full of hilarious dialogue and heat. However, it is not all light and fluffy as there are some heavy moments.

The author develops Sally's character well, and we learn that she has had to grow up quickly after her parents passed away. Her friends are always there for her, but her sister is a bit of a spoiled brat. Sally believes in love and romantic relationships, which is why she loves romcoms so much. Harry, on the other hand, has never experienced true love and frustrates Sally and the reader in equal measures!

As the story progresses, Sally convinces Harry to re-enact more romcom scenes in hopes of earning some cash, and they become closer. However, there is tension between them because Harry told Sally he didn't believe in love, and Sally wants the whole #swept off her feet” package. When things turn for the worst, Sally walks away, and their relationship becomes more complicated.

Overall, a laugh aloud, engaging, sexy novel between two fun protagonists with combustible chemistry.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

“His compliments were like nuggets in a gold prospectors pan. Rare, but oh what a thrill when they appeared.”

I have to admit, this was a very cute little romcom. I know it’s niche, but I love the “we have to do this for our followers” trope, and this did deliver on that very well. The way that the characters acted out all of the major moments from romantic comedies was super cute to read, and each time one of those scenes finished I just wanted to get to the next one.

But unfortunately I did find myself having a few problems with it. The main one being the names of the characters… Harry and Sally just felt TOO on the nose when the books main focus is a woman who is obsessed with romcoms, it just came off very cheesy to me. I also thought that the chemistry between the characters felt a bit forced, and there wasn’t really a reason for them to be “enemies” in the beginning other than the fact that he hated romcoms and she loves them…

However the cover is adorable, and I definitely see a certain demographic loving this book, it just wasn’t all for me ☹️

Listen, I love romcoms 🥹 there are SO many that are just comfort watches for me now that always bring my heart flitting about in the cage of my ribs.

I. Adored. This. Book.

First of all, they are Harry and Sally and right off we are feeling a pull to the clouds. ☁️

When Harry challenges Sally over the infamous “lift” in Dirty Dancing, they end up filming a failed reenactment of the scene. Finding it hilarious Sally posts for her handful of TikTok followers to enjoy, only it goes viral and the people … they want more!

Recognizing a potential financial benefit that will help them both out - it’s let the scenes begin!! We’re taken on their journey, behind the scenes of filming reenactments of epic and iconic moments in romcom history, and watching Harry and Sally become the star of their own romcom story.

We can connect with Sally and swoon with her at the scenes in our beloved films. We settle into the heart warming feelings. Harry is a cynic with feet and head planted solely on the ground, no clouds for him. The thing is, it is as easy to see Harry’s perspective as it is to see Sally’s. The realization that painful moments exist too and hearts can ache as much as they love.

It’s navigating both sides together that creates a balance, a place where love can be seen … to each other but also to themselves. 👀

Had me feeling nostalgic, full of funny moments as well as romantic ones and a read that will keep you in your feels. I think I had a smile for 93% of reading this. I read it in one sitting. Will be purchasing a copy to go on my shelf!

Sally loves her romcoms and is looking for her own happy ending but then she meets Harry. He looks perfect but he doesnt believe in love. how could it ever work? They grow close re-enacting famous scenes from her favourite movies and she begins to wonder if she can show him what love is

Aww I do love a romcom myself so knew this was going to be a fun read. it did not disappoint. I loved all the movie references and how many I recognised. The story is well written and a great read. Its a very modern romance touching on the danger of social media and angry exes. The ending was so perfect and finished it off with style. A brilliant read for any romantic movie lover.
