This one was a love story of love stories. It was sweet and funny and super cute. Fast Enjoyable read.

I'm not a huge romance fan but the description of this book intrigued me- two roommates go viral after recreating (badly) a scene from Dirty Dancing and continue to recreate other scenes from popular movies. Seemingly a love letter to 90s romcoms (totally my jam,) I was immediately interested in reading this novel. Did I mention the main characters are named Sally (the eternal optimist) and Harry (the classic cynic)?

I really enjoyed this story BUT I absolutely hated the writing when I first started it. It's just . . . not great. I hate to say that about any novel but it is very choppy and just . . . bad. Once I got over that I decided to just enjoy it. It was silly and predictable (soooo much) but I liked both of the main characters (there are several secondary characters that are complete TRASH and totally rage worthy) even through the cringeworthy moments.

Quick, silly read that will make you remember all the 90s movies you absolutely devoured once upon a time. I probably won't be rushing to read any of the other books by this author anytime soon but it was a fun way to spend a lazy Sunday.

This is book 7 in Kathryn Freeman's Romcom Collection series. Now I personally have read every book in this collection. What can I say they are amazing and I love Romcoms. However each book in this collection can be read as a standalone! Though this reader highly recommends you read them all.
This edition to the collection is all about Sally and Harry who are complete opposites. Sally is a bona fide romcom lover who is waiting to hear the 'bells ring'. Whereas Harry is not a romance lover and doesn't really believe in love. Understandable given his backstory but we digress.
There story is told over the course of 35 Chapters as well as a Prologue. Now I have to admit you will find yourself so invested in this story that you may discover when you pay attention to chapter names that you have read multiple. For example when I first started this book I was only going to read the prologue and possibly chapter one, instead I read all the way to chapter three. I was that engrossed in the story that I couldn't put it down.
One of the best things about this book is that it is truly a Romcom at it's finest. I could see this being a movie. From the moment these characters meet not only do they have some undeniable chemistry but they also have moments that will leave the reader laughing. Now I don't mean a small giggle, I mean laughing out loud and then re reading the section just to make sure you have read it right!
Overall, if you couldn't already tell I fell head over heels in love with this book. I would love to see it made into a movie! The only downside I see is that the TikTok account mentioned in the book does not exist. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

This was a cute rom com concept! I like how they recreated iconic rom com scenes for tik tok. All of the rom com references were perfect! I did feel like the story dragged quite a bit! It took me a long time to read it, because I didn’t feel super invested in the storyline.

Perhaps it was the language used in the novel, but it felt meant for a UK audience. There were turns of phrase that probably do sound natural to someone from Britain, but I just found the vernacular so jarring that I couldn't get into it.

I loved this little romance tale. I loved that it took at the real world classic romance movies and tied them into the plot. I think it was a really clever way to make the book relatable.

I find it so funny when new books mention apps like tik tok and social media that is commonly used in todays younger generation. Again, I think this is a great example of the book’s relatability with Millennials and Gen z.

I’ve never read anything from Kathryn Freeman before but I really liked the writing style and humour.

This was really sweet. I loved the nod to classic romcoms, and found myself giggling as the characters interacted and got to know each other.

This one was such a fun ride. I spent hours reading yesterday to finish it, and I can’t remember the last time I sat and read for that long in one sitting. This one is just pure, joyous entertainment. It’s not a book that’s trying to make you think—it’s just a cute little story with some characters that I personally really adored.

Cheated on by his partner, Harry finds himself lodging in Sally’s spare room that was abandoned by her sister. He’s a blunt, cynical builder, and she’s obsessed with romcoms and partial to the color pink. Her parents were happily married until their passing. His are getting divorced, unpleasantly, and using him as their go-between. We can all see where this is going. Eventually, Sally convinces Harry to recreate the infamous lift from Dirty Dancing and posts the result on TikTok, leading to their new series of recreating iconic romcom scenes together.

This book felt very self-indulgent in the best way. While the characters can come across a bit contrived at times, I found myself loving the both of them—their vulnerabilities and their dynamic. The build up sort of drags on, and I found myself annoyed at times. But I don’t think this is a criticism! If you’ve ever watched two people catch feels and be in denial about that, it’s the same kind of annoying. You just want to shake some sense into them. I wasn’t a fan of the primary conflict near the end, but I was so invested by that point. This book brought me so much joy, and I’m sure I’ll still be thinking of Sally and Harry for some time.

Highly, highly recommend for romcom fans!

You had me at hello, and this book had me at the cover!

It's a love letter to rom-coms, full of references to all your favorite movies, bringing back the butterfly filled memories of watching them for the first time.

Rating wise, there are a few open-door scenes with moderate details, but other than that, this is a light-hearted, quick romp through romancelandia.

Harry and Sally are housemates. They are opposites—she's a hopeless romantic, and he's well... not! But one night, he gives in to reenacting a famous movie scene, and it goes viral. So... they keep going.
I REALLY loved Harry. Even though he can be such a grump, I found him charming. Sally is the stereotypical 'airy-fairy kind of 'romantic' which is cute, but unfortunately, she never grows to be anything more. Even after the whole "we knew it was coming" breakup and the following epiphany, she's still doesn't actually learn anything important enough to make a change. Which is a shame.

BUT that's not going to put me off recommending this book to anyone looking for a feel good, laugh out loud, swoony romance.

I LOVE When Harry Met Sally so obviously the main characters names being Harry and Sally in a book about romcoms was already a plus for me.

The story was well balanced, fun, and believable.

Its not a new favorite but I will definitely recommend to people looking for a more under appreciated style of romcom.

First off, what better RomCom than having your MC's named Harry and Sally? C'mon!! Also, dirty dancing is my absolute favorite movie ever so this title lured me in from the start. I loved the insta love and all that this book gave! Got me in my feels and loved the idea reenacting famous romcom parts of movies!!

Had me giggling and smiling throughout. A perfect pick me up or holiday read.

Overall this was a cute story! When Harry met Sally (literally) recreating iconic romcom scenes in the tiktok Era. There were the cheesy moments and the butterfly moments, and so many romcom references!!

There were a few things I didn't love.... the friends group. They were SO present but present in a way that it felt like the reader was walking in to season 5 of a show with no background. Some books will have a friend group that completely pulls you in, I feel like the story would have been so much more if it had. The chemistry between Harry and Sally, or lack there of? It felt like their romance developed more out of proximity than attraction. Overall the story lacked the depth that really embraces you into the story, it just felt like something was missing for the majority of the plot. And I really wish there had been an epilogue. Don't get me wrong. That grand gesture though was straight out of a romcom if I ever saw one but I wanted more after the HEA!


I don't think the title could be any more perfect. Be ready to curate an ultimate romcom playlist, and curl up with all the movie references and a margarita this cute, quick read!

This book was fun and sweet. I liked the concept being really an ode to rom-coms. But I also felt like maybe it was a bit TOO heavy handed at times. It got a bit distracting and cheesy.

The second book I've read from this author, fast becoming an auto-buy for me. This book was a perfect romance, made with some of my favourite tropes

You know that the majority of the books I review are romance so you won’t be surprised that I have accepted to join this tour to review Kathryn’s new book “Nobody puts romcoms in the corner”. Because, that is true, nobody is putting them in the corner.

We are following Harry and Sally throughout their life and their possible relationship (this depends if they feel fuzzies and hear the bells!). They start off by being roommates and the differences could not be more. On one hand, we have Sally who loves pink and all that girly stuff (nothing wrong with this). On other hand, we have Harry who is blunt and is not a fan of pink, at all. So when one drunk night leads them to do TikTok and reenact the famous scene of ‘Dirty Dancing’, what is bound to happen?! Well, I won’t be spilling the beans, it is on you to read the book and see for yourself.

Sally might be someone that we think is all girly and is in her head regarding romcoms, but deep down she is a smart and courageous woman who has gone through a lot. She quickly changes your opinion of her. Just like Harry; if you think that he is only this blunt guy, who has no idea about love, get ready to get your opinion changed.

This book is perfect for fans of Harry Met Sally, Pretty Woman, The Notebook or anyone who loves romcoms. It will warm up your heart and soul and will make you wish to feel the fuzzies. Or have someone that will show you their love through actions.

I love the title, I love the tropes, this was a fun book to read!

I really loved the title, cover and premise of this story. It automatically conjured images of people doing great dance moves, practicing lifts and generally having a good time. Asking for an ARC of it was a no brainer.

Sally loves rom-coms, believes in love and hopes that one day she’ll find her soulmate with whom she’ll have her own HEA.

Harry is a cynical, cantankerous divorcee who is can’t get his cheating ex-wife out of their home, has trouble dealing with his parents’ loveless marriage and doesn’t believe in love all around, but finds it in himself (after enough liquid courage) to re-create Dirty Dancing’s iconic “lift” scene with Sally. The video goes viral and Sally convinces Harry to make more videos in the hopes to get sponsors.

I really appreciated the movie nostalgia, including the “When Harry Met Sally” names. I also enjoyed the couple’s banter and chemistry as well as watching Harry get confused over his growing feelings towards Sally.

Overall this was an ok, lighthearted read for me.

Meet Harry and Sally. Sally is the poster child romantic. Happily ever after isn't just a fairytale ending to her...it's a life goal! Harry is the polar opposite. His parents were terrible role models which turned him off from believing love is actually a thing. They become roommates after Harry's ex-girlfriend refuses to leave his house and causes him to have to find another place to live. Harry rents a room from Sally who is also short on cash. Cue the love/hate roommate banter and revel in the 90s romcom flashback as they attempt to reenact iconic scenes from movies like Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Never Been Kissed, When Harry Met Sally and more!

This book had me at Rom Coms and Dirty Dancing! And kept me with hilarious romcom recreations, witty banter, and character with depth. It was hard not to feel for both Harry and Sally, but for different reasons. Sally and her unrealistic expectations for love and Harry with his hardened heart.

This story was funny and heartwarming, an opposites attract and slightly nostalgic read. I found myself looking up some of the less familiar scenes on YouTube, and reenjoying the familiar ones.

I thought this book was really cute. I loved both of the main characters and thought they were very likable. If you love romance movies, then this is the book for you! Filled with so many nostalgic movie references - this one is so fun!
