This story was just an average read for me. Some good bits and some implausible areas. Ending could have been fleshed out to tie up loose ends. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

A new author to me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book which was well written with interesting characters that kept me involved in the storyline all the way.

Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo Publishers for this ARC which I can recommend.

When five friends arrive in Miami for a destination wedding, they appear excited for the forthcoming celebration as their friend, Fiona, is about to become a wife. No one would guess that each of them has a reason to want the groom dead.
Trevor wooed his bride-to-be by bonding with her close-knit friends. But Trevor's intentions weren't honourable. He uncovered each of the group's darkest secrets and used them as blackmail to get their help in persuading Fiona to say 'yes' to his proposal.
Trevor has his own reasons for wanting to marry Fiona, and he'll stop at nothing to make his plan a reality. But when he dies at the wedding, surrounded by enemies, the possibility of murder isn't far behind. The pool of suspects is wide, but who was desperate enough to kill?
Really enjoyable read totally recommend
Thank you NetGalley and Canelo

This was a fun read, filled with secrets & drama. Trevor was a good character to hate - blackmailing his girlfriend’s friends so that they supported him when he proposed - and there’s nothing like seeing the villain get what’s coming to them! However, I just found this book to be lacking. The friends were lacklustre and at times, I couldn’t find myself caring if their secrets were revealed. Even Trevor is a bit of a cartoon villain most of the time, and it just got to be a bit much. I wanted to know what secrets they all had, but other than that, I didn’t feel much sympathy towards the friends.

The last book of September has also been a great read. It's Her Husband's Murder (called It Could be Anyone in the USA and Canada) by Jaime Lynn Hendrick which I received from Canelo via Netgalley. It will be out on the 3rd of November.

A group of friends come together for a wedding of one of them. They seem like a perfect group of friends and they appear to be excited for the wedding. However, the groom, new to the group, is not that honorable at all. He dug up dirt on all the friends to make sure they were all excited about the wedding. But then he dies at the wedding. Each and every could have done it...

This started out great! The first chapter set the tone and each chapter that follows tells us everything about each character. Their flaws and their dirty secrets. By giving each character ample time in the chapters devoted to the character, we get to know them quite well. They are all well-worked out and it's like you actually know them. The story itself is quite simple, but really put together by focusing on the characters separately. That makes it rather a thrilling read, a book you just can't put down.

Loved it!

4,75/5 ⭐

Fiendishly Deceitful,,,
Five friends, a wedding, Miami, the bride and groom and a whole host of secrets - some deadly. No one would possibly have thought that each friend of the bride desperately wants the groom dead. They all appear excited, happy and delighted to see their friend Fiona marry groom to be Trevor - but not everything is as it seems and even the fiendishly deceitful Trevor has his own agenda. When Trevor dies at the actual wedding has a murder been committed? If so, the host of suspects at this wedding is a veritable plethora. Compelling suspense with a well drawn and credible cast, a plot peppered with twists plenty and a well executed, perhaps unexpected, denouement.
