I love a good Mafia story and this is a very good one. When Conner picks Noemi for an arranged marriage, he thinks she will be quiet and submissive. That is not the case, as he learns. I loved reading how their feelings grew from attractive to much deeper. Noemi's family life is full of danger and deception. Conner has his own family issues but his family is supportive and kind, well for mobsters. I can't wait to read more from this author. I read this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Silent Vows is the first in Jill Ramswoer's new Byrne Brothers series. Although this is a new series, if you've read any of her Five Families books, then you will spot some recurring characters here. These books, as you may guess from the Byrne name, are focusing on the Irish families that lurked around the edges of some of the five families' books.
Noemi hasn't spoken since the car accident that killed her mother, is it due to trauma, something that damaged her, or perhaps she's just unwilling to speak about what really happened? Whatever her story, this troubled woman doesn't seem to be the ideal candidate to help form an alliance via marriage with the Irish. Her father has no concerns about putting her forward and when Conner meets her, it's clear that there's more to this woman than meets the eye.
The romance between Conner and Noemi develops very quickly, but I still enjoyed seeing it unfold. There's plenty going on here with both Conner and Noemi learning things about their family that they never dreamt.
This was a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to reading more about this Irish family.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Noemi and Conner will suck you in. I loved thus book. It's a little different take on crime families. Our hero is flawed but you become so invested in him that you don't care about the shady parts. Noemi was complex and relatable. I'm really looking forward to the next book. There were so many interesting characters in this one that I want more. The romance is at once sexy, steamy, and sweet.

OBSESSED! I am enthralled with Noemi and Conner! These two from their first meeting had instant chemistry! The way he could read her and their understanding of each other is simply everything!

Noemi is a heck of a woman! Resilient as heck and a fighter! Connor “fans face” is WOW! So broody and protective but the man had a heart of gold that is for sure! The way he made Noemi his queen in every way!!

I have been dying for a mafia book to completely consume me and Silent Vows did exactly that! The angst was a 5 and the actual heat lever WHEW they were off the chart! Conner is one heck of a lover!!

I am so happy I grabbed this book because this is the start of one heck of a series!

Noemi is stuck between a rock and a hard place. After a horrible car accident that ended up with her mom dead she’s struck mute (conveniently so) after learning the true nature of her mafia father. She wants to flee but knows she can’t leave her little brother behind. Conner is part of the Irish crew, but has some Italian ties. To help cement the relationship between the two groups he decides on an arranged marriage, picking Noemi, as he thinks having a mute for a wife might make things easier. So this is not your typical mafia story. The Italian and Irish are usually at odds but, the enemy of my enemy is my friend right? Conner is a strong, dominant lead male and Noemi is surprisingly strong herself, especially since you’d think she was a mafia princess. Their relationship starts off arranged but the heat starts early between the two and builds up quickly. There’s a lot of family drama on Noemi’s side which creates a bit of tension but the two persevere. The action comes on quickly but it doesn’t overshadow their relationship. This is a nice quick read with a mix of action, tenderness and steamy scenes. 4 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I didn't put it together that I had read books connected to this series until I started reading Silent Vows, I was very excited about this.
I really liked this story and am looking forward to what is coming. The way the story just jumps right in and we know something terrible has happened to Noemi and she is telling her story without saying a word. I really wish that her silence was kept quiet a little bit longer. I would have loved to see her say it to her Uncles and her father hearing it for the first time. That is pretty much my only "ugh" part.
I loved the family dynamic of both Conner & Noemi. They were always looking out for someone else and it actually brought them closer.
I liked this and I am really stoked about what is to come.

This was really great! It was exactly what I needed and exactly what I thought it would be. It's so nice when those two things come together. This is the first book I've read from Jill Ramsover and will definitely be peeking into the backlist to see what else is lurking for me in there.

I can sit here and describe the book, but I think that if you just go into it knowing its going to be a mafia romance, with an arranged marriage, where he didn't quite get what he bargained for, and she didn't expect to fall in love with him... you're going to have a good time. Connor is baeeeeeeeee. He is one of the reasons that fictional men will forever be better than actual men. And I like reading about them.

I look forward to the next installments as well, because they were set up well and I want to know what happens with them.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm enamoured and obsessed with Irish mafia romances, for no other reason than the fact that they're Irish so this book was super easy for me to pick up and immediately fall in love with. It's the first book in the series, which was nice because we were meeting all the characters for the first time and understanding them from the perspective of the first couple.

The female main character Noemi isn't in the slightest docile and pushes Connor every step of the way in the beginning. It's refreshing having characters who clash because you just know their chemistry is fire filled and continuously fuelled by their back and forth. There wasn't as much hate between the pair as I expected for a mafia romance, it was a lot nicer seeing Connor care about Noemi and really fall in love with her.

This was one of my favourite arranged marriage, Irish mafia romances! Jill is one to watch out for!

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an arc of this book.

This was SO good! It was a fun spicy mafia romance and I loved every minute of it. For me, mafia can be hit or miss. You want it to be suspenseful but not too scary and this story had the perfect balance. When logging it into Goodreads, I was so excited to see it is the start of a series. I cannot wait to read more from this author and continue this series wherever it may go!

This book was one of those reads that makes you sad when it's over.

Naomi is silent, and after learning that her father killed her mother she plans to stay that way.... that is until she can get out of the Mafia life. What she's not accounting for is the fact that her father has proposed her for an arranged marriage with Connor, an Irish mafioso.

This story is steamy, action packed, and was an overall AMAZING read. I cannot wait until the next book in the Byrne brothers series is out.

Oh wow!!

I am a fan of this author, loved her five families series and what a world she is building. Masterfully interconnected, whilst this book can absolutely be read as a stand alone, the wider series is immensely satisfying.

I absolutely bought into Noemi and Conner as a couple. Forced marriage is a trope that I find either amazing or ick and this one definitely fell into the amazing category.

Both were such strong people despite on the face of it Noemi seeming anything but. I loved how Conner saw the real her and worked so hard to find the true woman underneath the assumptions.

A great story with an intriguing storyline this is absolutely a book worth reading and I look forward to Keirs story

I love a good arranged marriage/mafia romance and Silent Vows by Jill Ramsower did not disappoint!

While it had a lot of undertones of the traditional mafia trope, it was a refreshing take where the two main characters come to realize pretty early on that they can be more formidable together than the can apart. Watching the relationship between Conner and Emi flourish was just as exciting as watching the passion they shared for each other grow.

Many times, I find I get to a certain point in a book and become ready for it to end, but with Silent Vows, it could have went on and on with the main characters and I would have gladly kept reading!

I just finished this and I’m already dying for more! Conner and Noemi may be in an arranged situation, but his feelings for her are anything but arranged. Sure, he picked her. And he sort of stalked her to get to know about her. And now he’s put her in more danger without meaning to, but he’s also the man who’s marrying her. And no matter how much Conner wants to pretend that this is just a means to an end, his every cell screams MINE when she’s near, or thought of, or breathing. And Conner is absolutely Noemi’s. Even if she doubts it. And even if she doesn’t trust it. Because deep down, the trust is there, along with something else that neither of them expected at all.

Trust Conner when he says he’s not romantic or gentle. But also understand that any man can be those things, even occasionally, for the right woman. And Noemi is definitely the right woman. She’s stronger than anyone could imagine, and she’s on a mission to bring down the most evil person in her world. The question is whether or not she can trust Conner with her secrets. And if she can save her brother along the way. But she needs to remember just who Conner is, because this man will burn the city to the ground just to keep her safe. After all, you protect the ones you love. And it looks like love hits these men hard.

So now I wait for the next book because I’m already hooked on this series!

As a Mafia romance lover I was itching to get my hands on this. Noemi brings a slightly different twist to the usual Mafia romance story in the fact she's Mute due to a horrific car accident six months prior that killed her mother.. Connor choses her for this exact reason, I mean who wants hassle off your wife whose got a voice, right?

What he isn't expecting is that Noemi with or without a voice definately portrays her opinions & is not the pushover he thinks she is & she's everything he's needed.

I loved the chemistry between the two main characters & for a Mafia romance Connor is probably one of the nicest MCs I've read about, yes he kills but he never once lays a finger on Noemi. She never wanted to marry into another Mafia family, its not what her mother wanted for her but now she's dead.. and living under her father's constant abuse is Connor everything she needs to finally escape? 💕

I took a chance reading this book. It was well worth it! When a mobsters daughter marries to get out of the clutches of her sinister father, has she jumped out of the frying pan into the fire? Lots of suspense and action. This book is not for the young!

Oh my! I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Silent Vows (release date 10/17/2022) from ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op.

I am a sucker for a good mafia story and this one did not disappoint!

Noemi suffered a trauma and hasn't spoken to anyone. Her family deemed her mute. The men around deemed to be a quiet, obedient, mouse of a woman, but was she really? Noemi had secrets and she wasn't ready to share them with anyone... yet. Noemi's father threatened to harm her loved ones if she find her voice and share those secrets. Enter cold, hard Connor. Connor was in control of the one emotion he chose to share - anger. Would he save Noemi from her father or would he be a monster himself? Noemi couldn't trust anyone. This was a great mafia story with multiple families involved in the conflict going on. Would alliance's between families make it better? Would Noemi's secrets make the conflict worse?

I especially loved the growth of the relationship between Connor and Naomi. They brought brought trunks of baggage to the table and neither were honest about how that baggage impacted themselves or each other... until they were and everything changed.

Read this in one sitting and I'm already looking forward to the next in the series.
