I was raised catholic and after reading this Camelot trilogy I feel like I need to go confess all my sins even though I haven’t been to mass in more that 10years.
The well thought out storylines, the STEAM!, ufff. Whatever I was reading before does not come close to Sierra Simone’s writing.

This third book in the series was a very interesting and unexpected conclusion. The twists and turns in this book left me wondering and wanting more, even if I thought the smut was a little much (I love smut, but it was a LOT lol)

I was surprised by the ending and not how I imagined it at all. There was still a HEA, thank goodness, but definitely in an unexpecting way.

I will definitely keep reading Sierra Simone after this series

Definitely an inaccessible series for young people. Completely cheesy, but still interesting. The author's writing style was okay, but sometimes too many sexual scenes and frequent repetition of the same content over and over. This is a story for open minded readers. There are also difficult themes such as war, violence, political intrigue, polygamy, homosexuality, predestination, past lives, suffering and sacrifice, magic in the form of clairvoyance, and many others. As for the story itself, it is the story of a reborn king in the present, who has to struggle with many difficulties and hopes that this time it will have a better ending.

Thank you netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books. It’s so frustrating to have these amazing people that have been in pain for long and all they want it to be together but everything around them is stopping that from happening. The plot twists throughout this series were shocking and intense which is one of the many things I loved about it!
This series is so heartbreakingly beautiful. Yes there is lots of smut but honestly the love story between these three characters is so intense and soul crushing yet so beautiful. This book broke my heart so many times yet I felt so completely happy with how the series ended. I did not expect this series to have this affect on me but wow and I’m honestly unsure if I will find a book as compelling as these. This author has pleasantly surprised me and now her books are an automatic buy!

This series is like a slow burn for getting worse and more uncomfortable. I really really love Sierra Simone, but this series just was not it for me. I thought it was going to go a very different way.

I think that there was supposed to be a throuple going on and it really was Ash and Embry with a sprinkle of Greer here and there.
I also felt bored and everything just didn't feel like it was thought through.

Sierra Simone's American King is the third and final book in the Camelot series. The book follows a man whose love demands much in return, a king who built a kingdom on the bones of the past, and a husband and father who is also the president. He is a tragic hero with a fatal flaw and a secret sin, and his sins are no longer secret. Despite the challenges he faces, he is determined to survive.

This book is the best in the trilogy, with impeccable smutty scenes that explore subs and doms and the intimate relationships between each member of the polyamorous coupling. But there's so much more to the plot and story than just the steamy scenes. The characters are dealing with weighty issues like ruling a country, maintaining relationships, and protecting the ones they love, and the series also explores the timeless nature of love.

The book is incredibly well-written and ties up the series in a phenomenal way. Although the conclusion surrounding Merlin could have been better woven through the story, every other element was handled in an outstanding way. The book makes the reader ponder what they would be willing to sacrifice for the ones they love. The Camelot story is not necessary to appreciate how Simone seamlessly sews the themes, elements, and highlights of the legend into the series.

Overall, the Camelot series is an incredible one that leaves a lasting impression. Simone is a master of balancing steamy scenes with complex plots, and her characters are engaging and well-developed. American King is a must-read for anyone who loves romance, politics, and a dash of magic.

Just when you think the series can't get any spicier, this book proves you wrong. The third and final book in the series, it is a fitting conclusion. Amazing book!

Holy twist Batman! In the final installment of the New Camelot series readers are taken on possibly the most intense and dramatic journey to happily ever after. There was so much packed into this read and the look into Ash really opened up a deeper level to this trio.

Sure enough the spice isn’t lacking in comparison to the previous two books and I’ve fallen even deeper in love with this trio. So many twists that I just didn’t see coming had me on edge the entirety of the book.

This book did all the right things to keep the reader engaged. It took a little bit for me to stay engaged, so it took significantly longer than the others in the series for me to read it. The twists and turns in this book left me wondering and wanting more.

I was surprised by the ending and not how I imagined it ending at all. There was still a happy ending, thank goodness, but definitely in an unexpecting way.

Sierra Simone has been added to my "always read authors" list. Her style of writing is unmatched. I felt that this type of romance was a positive experience for my first series with this type of romance.

American King ARC
Sierra Simone
Stars: 4/5
Spicy Level: 5/5

I received my copy of American King as an ARC from the publisher. Congratulations on surviving book two, and buckle up for the final instalment of this trilogy. There is pining, love, lust, political intrigue, and a whole lot of emotional whiplash. If you’ve made it this far, the end is in sight, and you will eventually reach the Happily Ever After portion of this series.

The plot of this final book is fascinating because it’s when all of the Arthurian ties come together. The traces are interwoven throughout the trilogy, but now you finally see the whole tapestry. It’s just as devastating as actual Arthurian lore, and if you’ve read any of King Arthur’s tales, you’ll see a lot of foreshadowing about what’s coming as the plot rakes you over the coals. Book three is as heartbreaking as American Prince because Greer, Embry, and Ash are battling for their relationship, and the men are battling it out politically. It’s a really fraught situation and makes things really messy emotionally. Also, all of Merlin’s meddling makes me want to strangle him. Once you read this third book, you understand why he’s done everything he has, but he’s still caused Ash, Embry, and Greer so much suffering by keeping them all apart when they were younger. That pain and sense of duty play a lot into the plot of this book, as the things everyone has worked so hard to maintain start to fall apart. I also felt like there were hints in the first two books about Camelot, Arthurian lore, and everyone’s fate, but not enough that I saw Merlin’s confession coming. It totally blindsided me and honestly seemed a little out there. I had to sit there and let my brain recalibrate after Merlin finally shared his secrets with Ash.

With this third book, we finally get Ash’s POV along with Embry and Greer’s. We see their past from his perspective as well, but some of it gets glossed over since the other two have already talked about things. You do definitely get to understand Ash more as his own person, and not just the man that Greer and Embry are so obsessed with. Ash is so heartbreaking and dumb that it’s absurd. He has a martyr-like personality and is a self-sacrificing little turd. He loves Embry and Greer yet struggles with their relationship and balancing everything. Now that all three POVs are present, you can understand why everyone acts the way they do, but it’s still endlessly frustrating. It’s baffling because I feel like there is character growth, but at the same time, there’s not.

Romance-wise, this book is just a lot. The poly relationship and marriage Greer, Ash, and Embry cemented earlier has totally imploded, and it feels like the world is burning down around you. Embry was date raped, is being forced to marry Abilene, and is running against Ash because he thinks Greer isn’t protected enough. Greer is still dedicated to staying by Ash’s side but is also furious and aching at/for Embry. And Ash is just trying to understand how he can survive without the man he loves, run the country alone, and still give Greer everything she needs. Ash and Embry are so emotionally blind it kills me. Everyone knows they’re passionately in love with each other, but the two idiots are still in denial after almost two decades on and off together. I also struggle to understand the dynamic play, shame, and jealousy between Ash and Embry. They love each other but also hate each other and are constantly struggling with the fact that Greer loves both of them. Embry especially struggles to separate their bedroom play from their politics-oriented outside lives, unlike Greer, who balances her submission and identity as the First Lady. It’s just interesting how all these intricacies bubble up in their relationship. I imagine it’s a realistic portrayal of navigating a poly relationship, but it’s something I struggle to comprehend. Also, please mentally prepare for the fact that there is another wedding night scene, and this one is possibly even more emotionally damaging. This book is still very spicy; however, there are more single pairings instead of the whole group together.

I won’t lie to you, reading these books stressed me out so much. They’re artfully written with complex characters and a soul-aching storyline. I highly recommend reading them, but they’re emotionally draining because so much happens, and you get so invested. Stick with it, I promise that there is a Happily Ever After. You might break your heart reaching that endpoint though.

CW: suicide, mentioned date rape, accidental incest, D/S lifestyle, character death, cheating, edging, rough sex, public sex

Wow I definitely wasn’t expecting this one to be as enthralling as it was. I couldn’t put this one down! It hooked me.

3.5 stars rounded up

The first half of this one dragged a little. It took me awhile to get through this one, but I loved the last half! Definitely an emotional rollercoaster toward the end, but I loved the ending!

Thank you Bloom Books for my gifted copy in exchange for an honest review

Although I liked this book I just didn’t like it as much as the first two. I feel like it had a lot of sections that just dragged on. The first two books were great and I enjoyed the ending of this one but it just didn’t read the same as those two.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

American King by Sierra Simone is the third book in the New Camelot Trilogy surrounding Greer, Ash and Embry.

This book focuses on Ash, and we mainly get his perspective. And I really liked that because he is my favorite male character in this world. He has quite some secrets and I was a bit shocked when some of them came out. But at the same time that only added to the already complicated relationship these three have.

The relationship still didn’t feel equal, and Ash and Embry definitely dominate it. Greer was kind of pushed to the side in this book and that was a bit sad. The time jumps took some time to get used to and sometimes hindered the reading flow.

Overall, I preferred this book over the last one, but this series is quite messy as a whole. 3,5 stars.

The conclusion of the New Camelot Series. When I can’t imagine this series getting better, it does. I refuse to spoil this book for anyone, but I did not expect the twists in this one. I cried multiple times reading this book.

Ash and Greer are forced to run for re-election without Embry. Not only are things different politically, their relationship is effected also. Everything is at risk. How do they maintain it all?

I was sad when this story was over. As much as I needed to breathe in between books and distance myself, I didn’t want the series to end. I am beyond grateful to SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to have my own copies of this series.

"Forever starts here. With my husband and my wife. My prince and my queen. The three of us sharing one heart, which beats together, and which will be together in every lifetime yet to come.”

I’m done with this series! What a journey it was. I wish I knew going into this series that it was a continuing romance throughout the three books with the three characters. And that book one and two won’t have a HEA. I loved finally getting Ash’s point of view! I loved getting to see into his mind with all the flashbacks with him and Embry. Seeing their history through his eyes and his emotions. I freaking loved all the scenes of Ash and Embry and Greer together. There are a lot of spicy scenes of them together and I am here for it! I think this is the main reason I love this series was for the spice. Sierra Simone knows how to write her spicy scenes! I definitely did have a hard time with a few things. It was hard reading how situations occur and Embry leaves Greer and Ash. I also really hated Abilene. I kept chanting, "Die crazy ass bitch!” I also at times didn’t like Merlin. He could be shady at times and secretive. But I love the ending of this series! It was a beautiful one.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me a copy of this book.

After reading book one and giving it a two star rating I think, and then going on to give book two a one star, I don't think I am going to be continuing in this series. I am not attached to any of the characters, the sex scenes outweigh any of the plot and the smut scenes are mediocre at best.

Because of that, I want to leave this book with a three star as to not sway reviews in one way or another.

I am going to continue reading books from this author because they do have such beloved series and I am dying to understand what all the hype is about, even though these ones, as well as the Merry Meet Cute one were not for me personally.
